Like Loving A Lion (SEQUEL to I'm Not That Perfect)

Nineteen; Tiffany

AUSTIN POV
"Hello?" Avery's sister Chloe answered answered the phone. Avery was grocery shopping and I had no idea when she was going to be back. She absolutely could not hear this conversation.
"I need your help." I said in a rush.
The smile in her voice was audible; Avery did the exact same thing. "With what exactly?"
I sighed. "I want to propose."
"Holy shit!" She cried. "Really?"
"Yeah. I was thinking and who knows Avery better than you? I'm going to fly you and your family out for her birthday party, okay?"
"Awesome. Oh my god! I'm so excited!" She said.
I smiled. "Yeah? You're not the only one."
**
"I like that one." Alan said. We were in the Tiffany's at the Americana with Chloe a few days later, after she flew in.
"Yeah? You're not the one marrying Avery." I rolled my eyes. "That's why we have the expert here."
Chloe nodded. "I'm an Avery expert. It's what I'm known for."
"So for her birthday she's getting a Mercedes and a husband. That's love." Alan said.
"Hi, can I help you?" A sales associate asked.
"I'm here for an engagement ring." I said nervously.
She laughed. "Sure thing." We followed her over to the case where they had the engagement rings and gazed at them.
"This is really overwhelming." I said nervously. "Chloe, what do you think about that one?"
"Oh my god." She said quietly. "Austin. That's it. That's the one."
"Are you positive?"
"You're the only person who knows her as well as I do. Are you telling me you don't thinks she'd love that ring as much as she loves you?" Chloe asked skeptically.
"You're right. It's perfect." I nodded. The woman got it out of the case and let me examine it.
"This is the one I want. Size four." I said.
"And what carat?" She asked.
I grinned. "What's the biggest one you have?"
She laughed. "Four. I'll go and get it."
"You're shaking." Alan noted.
"Don't be an ass, Alan. He's excited because he's about to buy the ring he's going to propose to my beautiful sister with." Chloe said coolly. I guess they'd stopped. . . talking or hanging out or whatever the hell they'd been doing at Warped and it must not have ended well.
"Here we go." The saleswoman returned, ringing me up. It totaled out just under 59 thousand, but it was all worth it for my princess.
**
"A Mercedes and a diamond ring." Alan said again once we were at the Mercedes-Benz dealership. "I thought you were joking."
"I wasn't." I said. "Come on."
I knew exactly what Avery wanted. I'd seen her looking at them online for weeks now. The new G63. This was going to be one hell of a birthday for her.
