Innocence is just a lie.

By the time we'd arrived home it was way past dark, the only noise was the soft humming from the engine which soon turned to a sigh from Kellin as his head dipped to hit the steering wheel with a small thud.
Time seemed to freeze as I watched him.

My eyes mirroring his glossy orbs as we stared emptily into each others eyes, looking for the invisible answer that was never to show.
If I could feel anything besides numb I'm pretty sure I'd be able to feel the world collapse around me, I'd be able to feel my heart breaking piece by piece, I'd be able to feel all the pain squeezing through my veins.

Silently, his hand reached out to grasp mine in a wordless attempt to make everything seem better-it almost worked.
Almost.

But if anyone need reassurance it was him- he was by far more excited about this whole thing than me, he was over the moon but now it's like his dreams had been shattered after being so close.
You could see it through his glossy green eyes- he was broken.
