Innocence is just a lie.
How did I end up here?
-Emily-
I evaded the car as quick as possible, speeding up to my room, mumbling about 'wanting to be alone for a while' before the door was even shut.
How could this happen?
I felt completely sure nothing would happen.
Almost as soon as I'd buried myself in a sea of pillows and blankets my phone rang, omitting a noise of annoyance from the back of my throat as I retrieved the ringing object from my pocket, checking the screen once it was in my hand.
Mom.
Of course you just knew something bad had happened, it wouldn't surprise me if there were cameras set up around the house though that would be creepy.
I answered the call, knowing she'd get suspicious if I didn't.
"Hello?" Her voice hummed as I took a small breath, "Hey mom, how's it going?" Disguising the shaking from my voice as I tried to speak to her without breaking down.
-Kellin-
My fingers drummed pointlessly on the counter by the nearly empty mug of coffee, it had cooled down to the point where it was almost freezing.
I didn't know what to make of the news, I definitely am not scared-if anything I'm excited.
This is a huge milestone that I never imagined I would reach, but it all depends on Emily; it's her life, it's her choice in the end. My opinion doesn't really matter.
Please update!!
