Falling Asleep On A Stranger

That was the day I packed my bags and left San Diego; leaving just a memory amongst the people I knew. And a short letter to the people I loved.

*flashback*
I'm sorry for what I've put you guys through,
but I promise that I won't be a bother anymore,
I'm leaving...I hope you guys accomplish your dreams!
I have faith that you'll make it to the top! Don't stop believing!
I love you guys with all my heart, never EVER forget that, but this is goodbye.

Quickly sealing the envelope, placing it in Vic's post box, knowing that he would be awake, and the guys would soon be over, I grabbed my keys from my pocket, and let my heart lead the way.
*end flashback*

It's been five years, since I stepped foot in San Diego, since I breathed the warm air in, tasted the exquisite food, felt the golden sand in between my toes as I would watch the dazzling sunlight make the sand sparkle like thousands of tiny little jewels. San Diego was my paradise, my salvation. But I left it all behind, to come to New York, here I'd successfully earned myself my dream job- a photographer. I'm not saying it was easy saying I had no qualifications in the 'Visual Arts' department, which so many photography businesses desired. But, lucky I, came across Jason, who knew his way into the industries, landing me a interview for the job of junior photographer. I've been working for 'In your eyes' photography for 4 and a half years now.

"Ms Tamesis, you're wanted in the office" The secretary calls out from the front of the room, I quickly grab my timeless leather briefcase, and pace myself to the office, straightening out any creases in my uniform. Silently, I knock on the door, waiting for the dreaded news inside the office walls to consume me.

"Come in, Ms Tamesis" My boss called out from her seat in the office, I reluctantly opened the door. "Ms Tamesis, please hurry, don't worry you've done nothing wrong" she said softly.

"You asked for me to come to the office?" I asked puzzled, only people are asked to come to the office when they're being fired, that's the reputation anyways.

"Yes, Ava, I want you to go to San Diego, I've read your reports, I've seen your photographs, I've already set your flight up as well as your residence and all of your luggage is currently being sorted out by your friend Jason, I hope that's okay, I know your probably wondering why your going to San Diego, I want you to take pictures for our new files that only few people know about, you were born and raised in San Diego, as well as having an incredible working history so who better for the job? Now Ms Tamesis, go pack your stuff from you desk away, your going to San Diego" She instructed me, before quickly grabbing the telephone and making a call to god-knows who.

"Thank you Mrs Willson, I appreciate this opportunity" I whisper, and with that her hand flicked to the door, instructing me to leave.

~3 Days Later~
Panicking, I rush to the airport, 15 minutes until my flight boards, I quickly hug and say my goodbyes to Jason, my only friend. Before, running through the airport with my trolley holding all of my luggage.

~4 hours later~
I quickly pull my phone out, when I hear a recognisable ringtone, I answer the phone without checking the caller ID. "Hello?" I spoke quietly, scared to wake the person next to me.

"HEY, V, YOUR ON YOUR WAY BACK?!?!" Screeched the voice on the other end, sounding like an extremely excited little boy yet it was oddly recognisable.

"Jaime?!"

Sorry this is so bad, I'm out of routine. I'm so sorry I haven't updated in forever, I've been extremely busy& I haven't had any spare time to even log onto my laptop.
