I was all for you

"Alex! This isn't true!!" Beth screamed. She sounded like a mad women, but who wouldn't scream after their best friend told them that they only had 4 months to live. Austin looked at Alan sadly, hoping that Alan would break into a goofy grin and say that it was a joke, but deep down, Austin knew that it wasn't a joke. Alan's soulmate, Beth's life long friend had only four months.

"Beth.... I'm sorry. It's true. I found out before me and Alan got back together. It's leukaemia...." Alex said, as she hugged her sobbing friend. Austin watched as his beautiful fiancé fell apart in Alex's arms, and as much as he wanted to go over and hold her, he knew that he should leave the girls alone.

"Alan, let's go out. Leave them here for awhile" Austin said.

Alan nodded and he gave Alex a kiss on the forehead.

"Baby, I'll be right back." Austin said to Beth. "I love you." Both guys said as they left.

Austin drove the car in silence for awhile until Alan broke the silence.

"You never think that it will be the love of your life, you know?" He said, to nobody in particular.

"Alan, man, I'm so sorry. If you need anything, just call me. I'll always be here for you. Your my best friend. I saw how you were in there. Never in all the time I've known you have you been so close to tears, and in there you were crying. I'm so sorry." Austin said.

"Austin, Kyler will barely know his mommy!" Alan said, loudly. "I'm going to raise our baby boy alone!" Alan said, his voice cracking. "Where are we going?" Alan asked.

"To Tiffany's. Do you love Alex?" Austin asked Alan.

"Fuck austin! I love her more than I've loved anyone!" Alan said, wondering where this was going.

"Alan, you have to marry her." Austin said.

"But- but what if she says no." Alan said. He had thought about asking Alex many times, even before she told him about the cancer, but fear had always held him back.

"Alan, she loves you. If she didn't, she would've never called you that night, asking for you to come back."
