Luck Isn't Everything.

Seventeen.

It had been a week since Justin and I had started dating, but everyone made it seem like it was the first day everyday at school. When we got back on Monday, there were people in the hallways congratulating us and some even applauded. As nice as it was to have the attention, it was weird. There were a few who hated the idea of us being together, but those were mostly Willow’s friends, girls who had a thing for him, and a few guys who I never even knew, that had a thing for me. Everyone’s strange support was very overwhelming… I guess people were just waiting to see when it would happen.

We went public on the guys’ website on Tuesday night, and again it was the same thing. We posted a picture of us sharing a small kiss with the caption, “Finally!” and within seconds our notifications were blowing up. There was some who began to hate me because I was just a merch girl, and some who loved the idea. After Justin found out about the hateful comments, he made a video announcing us officially and basically telling everyone who wasn’t okay with it to get over it because this was long overdue and that not only was I now his girlfriend, but they all knew I was his best friend and that it was bound to happen.

The way he spoke in the video was very sweet, kind, and collected. I almost cried at the end, but I held the camera and just smiled. Afterwards we went for a walk and some ice cream. It was very pleasant, to say the least. Today we were counting down the minutes for school to pass so that after school we could meet up with a local band that wanted to do a local tour the upcoming week, which happened to be our two weeks winter break. They said they’d heard some of the band’s music and that they absolutely had to have the guys on tour. I think I was more excited than them.

“So what all should we pack for this tour thing?” I asked Justin as we finished up our page designs for the school yearbook. I was arranging pictures of Oli and his band for part of our spread and it occurred to me that I hadn’t spoken to him since Friday night at the Fall Ball.

“What we always pack, clothes, necessities, video games, food, more food, toilet paper, shower stuff, food, video games, more food, and toilet paper,” he listed off and we laughed.

“I’m serious. Justin, you guys have never toured for more than 5 days, I mean, this is a big deal. This is 14 days, that’s half a month.”

“It’s only two weeks, Fee. I’ll be excited when we finally get a full month tour. Music, drinks, parties, girls, parties,” He wiggled his eyebrows at me.

“Excuse me?” I asked, pretending to be angry.

“I’m kidding, babe. I’m a one-girl kinda guy. Besides, I can’t even legally drink,” he mused.

“Hasn’t stopped you before,” I said crossing my arms.

“Trudat, but I also wasn’t in a band before. A band, that I might mention, has become really successful without any help from a record company. I don’t wanna be the one to screw things up for us.”

“Alright, alright. I’m just super excited for you guys and for me. Not everyone can say there boyfriend is a rockstar in the making who’s super hot and cute,” I wiggled my eyebrows and giggled. He laughed and hugged me.

“I’m so sorry I took forever with us,” he said as he wrapped his arms around me. It was moments like these were I felt really safe.

“Wait,” I stopped and pulled back, “fuck!”

“What?”

“Battle of the bands.” The competition was on the last night of break, which happened to be the last night of tour. We were gonna miss the first day back to school just so we could drive back down.

“Oh, fuck.”

Notes
