Forgive Me- Part 1

A Wreck

Jason's POV

Amelia was a wreck when I finally found her at the airport. I had arrived ten minutes ago to take her home but she never came, after waiting, I decided to just go through security and look for her. When I did find her she was sitting on the ground, staring out the window and clutching a box of tissues.

"Amelia?" I ask as I carefully sink to her level. "Hey, I've got to get you home now okay?" She just nodded, not taking her eyes off the tar mat below. I carefully lift her by the elbow and help her stand. As I pull her towards the exit she stops me and walks towards a woman sitting in a chair of the terminal. Amelia hands her the box of tissues.

"Thanks for letting me use these" Amelia said softly.

"That's okay, you needed them more than I did, can I ask who left?"

"Just a friend..."

"You know I heard you, say you love him I mean" the woman's voice was lowered when she spoke and I barely heard her. Did Amelia really say that? I knew she liked him but love?

"It's- it's not our time yet..."

"Yet?"

"Six months, in six I get to go to him"

"I know that may seem like a long time, but if you love him it will fly by, you'll be with him before you know it" Amelia launched herself at the woman and held her tightly. The woman in turn wrapped her arms around Amelia and rubbed her back soothingly. "You'll be okay darling"

I didn't want to pull Amelia away from this woman; she needed the comfort that this woman provided so I let her stay there. After a few minutes the woman pulled away.

"Honey, I think you need to go, that gentleman has been waiting for you" Amelia nodded and pulled away as well. "Here, you can keep the tissues"

Amelia let out a slight laugh and accepted the tissues. "Thank you again"

"It's no trouble"

Amelia stayed glued to my side as we walked out of the airport. I wrapped my hand around hers and led her to my car. She was quiet the entire trip back to her apartment and when we arrived she went straight into her room to lie on her bed. I walk over and sit next to where she is lying.

"Are you going to be okay?" I whisper to her and she just nodded.

"I can stay for another week if you need me to"

"No, you have to go to school"

"School is shit, I'm being tormented by the people there and going there is destroying me, so sorry if I would prefer to be here to help my sister, make sure she eats because I know that when she's sad she forgets. So no, I'm not going to school, I'm going to stay here until I'm sure you're okay"

Amelia rolled over and pulled me into a hug. "Why didn't you tell me things were so bad?"

"I can handle it; I didn't want to bother you with my petty troubles"

"They aren't petty! Trust me, I went through that, it does more damage than you would expect. I'm your big sister, you should have told me"

"I didn't think you would care"

"Of course I care! I love you! You're my brother!"

Amelia tightened her hold on me and I hugged her back. I should have let her in sooner. Why did I ever think she wouldn't care? As she said, she's my sister...

"Come on; let's get you something to eat before you go to sleep." I said to her. She nodded and crawled out of bed. I heated up some left overs and put it in front of her. "I didn't realise how much you liked him..."

"Well... I just- I dunno... he makes me feel safe. I don't get anxious around him, hell; I willingly went into the city with him. I like that, not constantly feeling terrified for no reason. Plus he is a genuinely nice person, he's easy to talk to and he cares. Whenever he noticed I was uncomfortable he would do everything he could to make me comfortable again, and he noticed a lot, he knew when I was anxious, when I was upset, whenever I faked a smile. He could tell how I really felt and I've never had that before"

I couldn't help but smile. I loved to see her like this, seeing the way her eyes lit up when she spoke. The only time I see her like this is when she reads or paints aka, the things she loves.

"You did pick a good one" I laughed

"Yea, but probably the only one who would have to leave"

"But from the way you talk about him, don't you think it's worth it? Plus, I know you can do it, even though this sounds horrible, you're good at being on your own."

"I know, I'll survive, but I'll miss him"

"I know you will, another reason to show he'll be worth it. How many other people have you ever missed?"

"You're right." She smiled, "thanks for being here Jase"

"I'm your brother, it's my job"

She had calmed down almost entirely since the airport, the shock of Jaime leaving wearing off. She'll be fine, she's strong and she cares about him. If she wanted she could go years without seeing him and then when he came back she would pick up right where they left off as if nothing happened. That's the type of person she is. She's always been the person I've looked up to, and it looks like she always will be. Yea she has some struggles like with her anxiety and her depression, but she's only human. She can't be perfect, but with Jaime, it seems as though she can be. He makes her happy, and that's all she's ever needed.

Notes

So it isn't too long but I found writing from Jason's POV a little difficult because he's supposed to be the strong dependable brother who Amelia always relied on and I felt like it was too soon to go too into depth about his troubles. Hope you enjoyed it! xox
