Product of a Murderer

I ran four blocks and found a small corner store that I go to sometimes. When I opened the door I dropped to the ground, breathing heavily trying to get my bearings. Was Jeremy awake? Would he know I came here? Oh god, I need to hurry. I jumped up and got over to the cashier as fast as possible pushing past the lady on her way over with some vitamins and a few bottles of water. Thankfully Joy was on shift at the moment, I'm familiar with her, "Joy, please help me I need to use your phone, something just happened. It's an emergency." She didn't hesitate in giving me her cellphone and opened up the small breakroom for me to talk in. I quickly dialed Alan's number crossing my fingers that he would answer the phone, he usually doesn't pick up the phone if it's an unknown number. Might be a crazy fan of his band or something. After 5 rings he still hadn't answered and I let out an exasperated cry. What was I going to do? I can't go to the cops, Jeremy made that pretty clear already. I sank down onto the floor and buried my face in my hands. I could taste my salty tears on my lips, hearing them hit my leather jacket like rain. "WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?!" I screamed.

I stood up, knowing that I was going to find Jeremy and end it all. This needed to happen. I walked out of the broom closet they call a break room, silently handing Joy her phone. I could feel her and the woman's eyes watching me as I walked out of the door. I started towards my apartment to see if Jeremy was still there.


When I got to the apartment Jeremy was gone and a note was left on the counter, I snatched it up and opened it quickly,

Ana,

I loved the kiss. But you hurt me, and now you're going to pay. I will hurt Alan.

I never should've hurt Jeremy. Now Alan is going to get hurt more than Jeremy was already planning. I ran back to our room and grabbed my phone calling Jeremy. He picked up after the third ring, I could hear his friend Austin talking about some lyrics with Aaron. "Hey babe, what's up?" I could tell he was having fun over there with his band, and telling him something like this would ruin his moment.

"Oh, nothing much. I just, uh, wanted to know if I could sit in on the last bit of you guys' practice, maybe here a song? My voice was shaky and I knew he'd be able to notice there was something wrong.

"Yeah, of course you can! Are you okay though... you sound a little shook-up. did you hear from Jeremy today?" He asked, lowering his voice a bit at the mention of Jeremy.

"Uhm, nope, haven't heard from him in a bit... I love you and I'll see you in a bit." I hung up and called for a taxi to be sent over, I couldn't drive when I was this angry and scared. I would just end up in an accident. The taxi arrived quickly and I gave the driver quick directions. After a few minutes I was at their studio and I handed the driver 30 dollars, giving him a 15 dollar tip.

I walked up the steps quickly and the guys all greeted me with hugs. After a few minutes of all the guys arguing about what song to play they finally narrowed it down to This One's for You and My Understandings. They did a coin toss and ended up playing My Understandings. They all looked so happy doing what they love. While they were playing I almost forgot about the Jeremy situation and all the stuff that's about to happen.
