What Daddy Doesn't Know

Alan and I went to the doctors about a week after we found out that we were going to be parents and found out that I was about a month and a half along. Ally enjoyed the thought of being and Aunt.

We have been on tour for about a week and a half and I love every minute of it. When the guys are performing Ally and I just hangout and talk. She seems to be better after finding out about her dad. We all helped her through her grieving period and let her know that we are all there if she ever needed to talk.

Ally and I were currently sitting in the bus alone playing Uno and talking.

"Katie can I ask you a question?" She asked and I nodded

"Yeah sure" I said as I laid down a blue four.

"Did it hurt when you umm you know" She asked

"Oh, um yeah I guess I mean it did but only for a minute why do you ask?" I was taken back by her question.

"I don't know I was just wondering. I never had a girl to talk to about this kind of stuff and I was curious" She giggled

"Yeah, I know how you feel. But if you ever feel like you are ready to do it make sure you are really in love with the guy and be safe and make sure that he makes it special" I stated

"Yeah, I don't plan on doing it anytime soon I mean no one likes me like that"

"That's not true, you are very pretty and any guy would be lucky to be with you" She smiled and hid her face.

"I am being serious"

2 years later .........

"Alan, we have the most beautiful girl I could every ask for" I said as I watched Cali bounce around the living room. In the last two years Alan and I moved into my fathers guest house across the pool. He wanted us to be close so that if I ever needed anything he was there.

"I know and I couldn't ask for a better baby girl" He replied

"Daddy, I wanna go see Carly!" Cali gushed. Carly was her name for my dad. Every one called him Carlile when she was learning to talk and she couldn't say that so she calls him Carly.

"You got it Cali, lets go shall we?" Alan asked as he picked her up.

"Wait I wanna bring him something. But you can know it" Cali said as she ran to her room and came back with a bag.

We walked past the pool and into My dads place.

"CARLY! where are you?
"Do I hear my Cali bear down there?" Dad yelled

"Yes come one I have a prize for you!" She jumped

Dad came running down the stairs and Cali hugged him.

"I drawed this for you a school yesterday!" She said as she pulled out a picture.

"What is it?" He asked

"Its you and that white robot you watch on the tv with the green cat" She said and I giggle

"You drew me star wars?" He giggled

"Yeah I guess" She shrugged and ran off.

"You two have created the best child in the history of man kind"

"Well thank you I try" Alan laughed

"Hey I carried her for nine months" I said

"Yes and you did a great job" dad said and he hugged me.

"Ye-" Something felt off.

"Katie May whats wrong?" Alan asked

"My chest hurts s-so much" I said clenching my shirt. Things were getting blurry and I was almost fighting for breath.

"Get her in the car now!" Dad yelled

"Daddy it hurts!" I cried and then things went black.

I woke up in a room filled with worried men.

"Katie I am so glad your up" Alan rushed over.

"Where's my dad?" I asked

"He is getting food with Cali." He said a nurse walked in with the doctor and Alan sat down.

"Ms. Carlile, there is a complication with your heart and if we don't fix it now there is a chance that you might not make it to see your 21 birthday" Well what a way to put it into perspective.

"When will I need to get it fixed?" I asked

"well, if we can get you into surgery in the next few days you will be set" I nodded

"okay well do what you have to do" I said and with that the doctor left.

I looked at Alan who had a worried look on his face.

"If I wasn't with you, you could have died today" He said taking my hand.

"But I didn't and that is all that matters" I said

"I don't know what I will do if I lose you. I love you more than anything in the world" I squeezed his hand to let him know that I would be fine. Just then Cali and My father burst through the door

"Austin, Katie has to undergo an open heart surgery" Alan said low enough so Cali couldn't hear.

"This is my fault. If I didn't have this disorder then she would be okay" He let a tear fall.

"Carly, don't cry mommy is gunna be okay" Cali said hugging dads leg

"Who told you that?" He smiled

"An angle, Mommy said she went to heaven and that she lives in your heart to make you safe. She told me that Mommy is going to be okay because she is going to take mommy in her wings so she can be okay" I let out a tear.

"Yes, there is an angel in heaven and she is watching over mommy" dad had tears in his eyes as well as the rest of the guys.

"I know, thats how I know mommy is going to be okay"
