I stand in the center of the mall with Colby and Kat, both of which are fighting over a black dress.

"No, Colby! I saw it first!" Kat protests, pulling the dress to the right.

"It's not even you're size!" Colby whines, pulling it to the left.

"If you both don't put the dress down, it's not going to be anyone's." I remark causing both of them to pause.

"Fine." they agree putting it back on the rack.

"Thank you," I say, reaching for the dresses hanger, "I'll be paying for this."

"No!" Colby exclaims, trying to reach for it.

"Yes!" I laugh, practically pushing her off of me as I make my way up to the cashier.

The woman at the check out desk gives me a strange look while she rings me up.

"Is this dress for you?" she ask, taking in it's fancy appearance.

"Yes, it is." I answer shooting her a look as she scoffs.

I can tell that she's taking in my band tee and skinny jean look and doesn't see the possibility of me
dressing nicely. So I promptly glare at her until I'm holding the dress in a bag.

"Thanks." I say with a roll of my eyes.

"Sophia, Colby and I are hungry, let's eat!" Kat shouts from across the store.

"Okay!" I agree, dashing past racks full of clothes to meet them.

The three of us walk towards the food court and stare at our choices.

"I'm in the mood for pizza." Kat finally decides, watching Colby and I as we stare at the food stands.

"I want tacos." Colby says eyeing the Taco Bell only a few feet away.

"I'll just get some lo mien." I sigh heading for the small stand.

As I stand in line I sigh and check my phone, only a few new texts from my mum and one from Austin,
which I decide not read or answer.

I quickly order my food and locate an empty table for three. Sitting down I check my phone again and
contemplate opening the text from Austin, but once again decide against it.

"Hey." a male voice wavers above me.

My head shoots up and I stare into the chocolate eyes of Austin.

"Oh." is all I manage to squeak out.

"Can we talk?" Austin asks quietly.

I shrug and gesture to the seat in front of me. Austin sits down and we stare at each other in silence for
the longest time until I break the silence.

"If you're here to call me jealous again then I don't want to hear it." I say.

"No, in fact, I want to apologize." Austin explains calmly.

"Really?" I ask in shock.

"Yeah, but this is a one time thing, I don't apologize." he says sternly.

"Mmm, so should I record you now and hold it against you later?" I joke.

"No." he laughs back.

I look at him and his lopsided smile and realize that Kat and Colby would never understand our
relationship. Our goofy, and awkward relationship.

"And I would like to extend an invitation your way." Austin asks nervously.

"I'm not going to see Perrie at some strip club." I say quickly.

"No, that's not it. In fact, I wanted to ask you out, properly this time. Maybe we could start over?" Austin
asks innocently.

"Um, I'm not sure..." I trail off, wondering where Colby and Kat are when you need them.

"This is a one time offer." Austin smirks.

"Why should I?" I ask.

"Because I know you want to. You can trust me." Austin offers.

"I suppose one date wouldn't hurt." I decide.

"That's the spirit!" he exclaims.

I laugh and he stands up.

"I'll text you later." Austin says and I nod.

I watch him stalk off and wait a few more minutes for Kat and Colby.

"Hey," Colby mumbles.

"What's up?" I ask looking at her.

"I'm making a decision about Jake." she answers.

"And?" I ask.

"I think I'll pass..." Colby says barely audible.

I stare at her in shock, "Wait, where's Kat?"

"With some guy she met in the pizza line." Colby sighs.

And that's when we saw him, Jake, walking our way.
