Annemarie’s POV
I lifted my bag off the floor and set it on the couch, taking out my yellow jeans, my BMO tank top, my grey shoes and my black bracelet. I walked to the bathroom, changing into the clothes and walking back out. I bumped into Phil and he smiled.
“Sorry Anne.” He let me go first and I nodded, walking to the living room. I felt grateful that they wanted me to join them and they wanted to protect me, but I felt like I can never actually get close to them. I packed the previous clothes I had and saw my arms, filled with old scars. I knew I shouldn’t be cutting my arms since I always wore normal T-shirts, so I use my thighs. I haven’t cut since Monday night, and today was Thursday. I’m three days clean, which is better than two, right? I zipped up my bag and set it down on the floor.
“Hey Phil, Alan asked if you had ordered the new guitars.” Tino said, poking his head from the
doorway.
“I’m pretty sure I did. Let me double check on that.” Phil and Tino walked back out and Austin walked back in, a box in his hands and he sat in front of the DVD player.
“Hope you don’t mind, but I’m a huge Disney fan.” He smiled and I sat on the bigger couch.
“I’ve never seen those movies. I grew up on Nickelodeon.” I admitted and he turned to me.
“What!?” He shouted. I jumped and hugged my arms.
“I’m sorry!” I almost yelled. I heard him walk over and I braced myself for the hit. I felt his hands softly touch my arms and I snapped my head up, seeing Austin pull his hands back.
“Don’t be sorry, it was my fault for yelling. I just don’t understand why people like Nickelodeon instead of Disney.” He smiled softly and I felt butterflies in my lower stomach, causing me to return it a little. Austin stood up and walked over to the DVD player, putting in a movie. Alan walked in, seeing me on the couch and sitting a few inches away.
“Hey I was wondering if you wanted to get a bite to eat with us.” He asked. I turned my attention to him and began wondering.
“Is Aaron coming along?” I asked. Alan chuckled and nodded.
“Of course, we know you won’t go anywhere without him.” I nodded and looked at the TV to see Austin watching Wendy sow on Peter’s shadow. I grew bored right away and was about to get up and Alan lightly tapped my hand. I turned to him, seeing him eye my arms and lightly grab my hand. “Don’t do this to yourself.” He looked up at me and I saw pure seriousness in his eyes. I looked down and I could feel Austin staring at us.
“Promise that Marie.” Austin sounded serious as well and I just stayed quiet. I couldn’t promise them this. My razors were my only friends; they loved me more than any other person could ever love me. Aaron walked in the room, walking over and grinning.
“Ready?” He asked. I got up, walking straight over to him and smiled, convincing him that I was better. He returned the smile as the rest came down and we all walked out the door.
Alan’s POV
I felt a sort of connection with Annie. She was really cute with her light blue hair, grass green eyes and naturally pale skin. I didn’t see her as anything more than a new possible best friend, if that’s what you’re thinking. I could tell Austin really liked her though. She sparked an interest in him. He never even looked at Giselle that same way he looked at Annie. But there was one thing that bothered me.
Annie never promised us that she wouldn’t cut again.
We walked out the door and she stayed next to Aaron, looking around. I saw her eyes filled with curiosity and a bit of fear. She knew Josh wouldn’t get near her as long as we were here, but she still looked around. Phil made small talk with her as Tino joked around with Aaron. I walked with Austin behind them. I could tell Austin was watching Annie, taking in her every move and smile.
Phil was the patient and calm one of the group other than Aaron, so it was no surprise when she laughed at a comment Phil said. I heard Austin sigh next to me and I turned to him. “Hey, come on, these things take time.” I assured him.
“I know, but she’s so broken, I just want to be the one to fix her.” He spoke quietly. I nodded and looked back at Annie who flinched when Phil’s arm brushed against hers accidently when he lost his balance. Phil apologized quickly, but she smiled, assuring him that it was alright, just a small scare. We got to the main part of LA and began to window shop, seeing a few people point to us and wave. I knew Annie was going to get nervous when the fans would get closer, but she just held on to Aaron’s shirt as he signed a few autographs. She would move aside when they wanted a picture with him and she looked over at me.
I was signing a girl’s bag when I noticed her looking at Austin. He was giggling as a girl jumped of joy from seeing him. He signed her arm and I turned back to Annie who had turned back to Aaron as a girl asked her where she bought her shirt.
“Who is she, Alan?” A fan asked me. I turned my attention back to the fan and smiled softly.
“She’s been best friends with Aaron since they were kids. She’s trying to get away from her abusive boyfriend and we’re all taking care of her.” The fan nodded and turned to look at Annie. I looked also and saw her jump almost a foot in the air when the girl stumbled toward her. Annie began shaking and Aaron calmed her down.
“That poor girl doesn’t deserve that.” The fan whispered and I nodded, happy that our fans were very sympathetic to her. I continued to take pictures with a few fans and before I knew it, we were surrounded by a huge mob of people. We were fine with it, but then I heard Aaron’s voice next to me and I felt my breathing stop.
“Annie’s gone!”
