My bag was packed, I had learned a few new gestures and I was ready to get on tour with my cousin and his band. To get to know something new. to do something new. Tino sent a text and told me he was downstairs waiting for me. I smiled and took my bag, and I took the elevator down. Outside Tino and Aaron waited, and they both smiled at me when I got out. I smiled back, still tired but fully awake.
"So did you learn something new tonight?" Tino asked. I showed him the gestures and he nodded impressed.
"You sure are a quick learner" he said.
We got to the airport and I got a small hug from Phil, and the one with ginger hair looked at me. He looked at me from top to toe and he looked skeptical. Then he said something to Tino, and then looked at me again.

Austin’s POV

I let out a sigh and walked into the airport. I had totally forgotten about Tino and his cousin until I saw her. A small girl, maybe around 5’3 tall with long black hair. Her skin was pale and her eyes silver, a very bright silver. Anyone could see that she was beautiful. She was dressed in a pair of red pants. Not baggy but not tight either, completely in cotton. Over that she had a white tank and a black cardigan. I could have fallen in love with her right here and now, but there was just something about her that made me not like her. I had no idea what. But for some reason I just knew that she would be a lot of trouble.
"Hey Austin" Tino said and smiled. I smiled back and greeted them all, included her.
"That is Mairin, and just like I told you… She’s deaf, and I know she’ll probably be a lot of trouble but… I just couldn’t say no when her parents asked me to take care of her" he said.
"She’s deaf?" I asked and stared at Tino.
"Only temporary, and she’s only been deaf for about a year… She lost it completely and locked herself away from the world, so this… this is her parents trying to make her open up again" he said and shrugged. I glanced at her and she looked at her phone. Now I felt bad for judging her in the first place, and I felt a little bit better towards her.
"So she speaks like… sign language?" I asked.
"Not yet, i’m trying to teach her and I actually have to say she surprised me when she showed that she’s a quick learner" Tino said and looked at her.
"As long as she’s not getting in our way, or in your way, she’s okay to come I guess" i shrugged.
"She promised to help out as much as she can" he said and nodded.

I glanced at her once again when we were up in the air. She was reading a book and making gestures with her hands. First I wondered what she was doing and then it hit me… She was trying to learn sign language. I recognized the gestures and thought for a moment… I wonder if I remember anything? I knew sign language from before, not fluently but enough to communicate. I had a friend who was deaf once, but he moved away to the UK and since then I hadn’t “talked” it. But looking at her, trying to figure the gestures out, was fascinating and made me remember more then I thought I would. About half an hour later I saw that she was struggling with a gesture and she frowned. I looked at the page and nodded, patted on her shoulder and I showed her how the gesture and sentence was done. She looked a bit confused but then she realized that I was trying to help her. She mimicked my movements and we did it together. After a few turns she knew how to do it. She gestured thanks and I gave her a small smile. I saw that Tino looked at me and I looked at him, raising an eyebrow.
"What?" I asked when he gave me a small grin.
"Nothing, I just didn’t thought you would remember how to do it" he said.
"Neither did I" I murmured and Tino smiled even more.
