Austin spent some time with this girl named Alice this night and I got a bit jealous. But instead of saying anything I sat quite. She was tall, thin and blonde. Her eyes as blue as the sky above us and she looked really pretty. I let out a small sigh and walked over to my bed and picked up my phone. I hesitated but then I sent a text to Ian.

Hi Ian, this is the girl to whom you gave your number earlier today!

I waited for a while and wondered if he was going to answer. Some parts of me wanted him to be a part of El Rey tomorrow, and some part of me didn’t. If he got into the picture… Well Austin might go away then. Stay with Alice maybe. I swallowed and took another deep breath, and then me phone let out a small beep. I jumped a little and opened it up.

Well hello, you sure took your time ;)
and isn’t it a little bit rude, I’ve told you my name but you’re not going to tell me yours?

I laughed a little and I pressed the answer button.

Well Ian, my name is Mairin and you can call me Rin.

I walked out to the lounge of our suite and sat down in one of the chairs. Austin and Alice was over at the small kitchen, and prepared something to eat. Tino and Aaron was sitting on the couch, watching tv and Alan and Phil were nowhere to be seen.

Mairin? That is a unusual name. What is the meaning behind it?

I smiled a little when I thought about the meaning of my name. It was the star of the sea, and the reason I had been given that name was because I had been born out on the sea. My parents had been on a cruiser when my mother had gone into early labor. I wrote the story down and hit the send button and then I looked up and saw that Tino watched me. He knew exactly who I was texting.
"So what’s his name?" he asked and gave me a grin. I could feel Austin’s stare at me. Wondering what was going on.
"His name?" Austin then asked.
"Yeah, we were at some ice-cream shop today and this guy left his number on a note to Mairin" Tino said and looked at Austin. I looked at him to see his reaction, and then he shrugged. I felt a little bit hurt but decided not to care when I got another answer from Ian.

That’s a cool story, I’m just named Marian because my mother wanted a daughter named Maria.

I laughed a little and told him that was quite the story as well, not as good as mine but still good. A funny story. Then I decided to ask him about his shirt.

El Rey? Well yeah I like them, do you like them?

I looked at his answer and wondered if he was in the band or not.

I’m seeing them tomorrow, they play with OM&M tomorrow… Have no idea what they’re like though.

I waited for the answer but it seemed like he wasn’t going to answer. My heart raced and I felt that I just wanted to ask. But I had to wait for an answer first. Tino said it was time for some food and I walked over to the table and poured up some food, and then a glass of coke. I took a sip when I got an answer from him.

They’re quite good actually ;)
I know because I’m the vocalist.
Will I see you tomorrow then?

I choked on my coke and Tino looked at me. Everyone looked at me as I stared at the text. So he was in the band. And he was the vocalist.
"What’s going on?" Aaron asked.
"The guy from the shop, Ian… He’s the vocalist in El Rey" I said and they all looked at me.
"The band we’re playing with tomorrow?" Austin asked.
"Yeah" I said and glanced at him. He looked thoughtful.

Yeah, you’ll be seeing me. I’m with the OM&M crew.

I took a deep breath and entered the venue, looking around to see if I could see him. I had the same Of Mice and Men tee on and some skinny black jeans, and my dark red vans. My hair was in two rope braids, lying over my shoulders and I had light makeup on. Around my neck there was the backstage pass that said that I belonged the the Of Mice and Men crew.
"God, look at her… So pretty" some girls said as I walked past them.
"Yeah, I can see why she’s with Of Mice and Men" another one said. I stopped and turned around to face them, and I gave them a smile.
"I’m Tino’s cousin, so I’m not here because I look pretty" I said and they looked surprised. Then I heard someone behind me.
"Hey Rin" it said and I turned around to see Ian. He had black skinny jeans on and an Iron Maiden tank. His hair was messy and his eyes piercing me because of the shine in them. I couldn’t help but to blush a little.
"Hey" I said and he gave me a small grin.
"You’re shorter then I thought" he said.
"And you’re taller then I thought" I said and was a little bit surprised by his length. He was just as tall as Austin, maybe just an inch shorter.
"Well most people aren’t this tall… Except for Austin maybe" he teased.
"Well yeah, you guys are pretty tall" I laughed.
"Come, let me introduce you to the others" he said and took my hand, pulling me backstage towards their dressing room. I saw Austin when we passed the Of Mice and Men dressing room and he looked a little bit surprised when I walked past the door, hand in hand with a tall stranger.
