Austin’s POV

The paramedics got them out from the bus and I saw Chris and her dress. She was bloody like hell, and pale. Her eyes filled with sorrow and pain. Her eyes empty. I looked at her and I knew what had happened.

We all waited to see how it was with Chris and Alan at the hospital. Soon a doctor came out and told us we could go and see Alan. We all hurried inside and he had a small smile on his lips.
"How is Chris… and the… babies?" he asked and looked at me. Tino, Phil and Aaron all stared at me. Shocked.
"Babies?" Aaron asked.
"Chris is pregnant with twins, but… all the blood before, I think she…" I said but couldn’t finish. I swallowed and pulled fingers through my hair. They all looked pale and like their heart dropped. Then someone walked inside the door and looked at us.
"Which one of you are with Crystal Reed?" he asked.
"I’m her boyfriend" I said and stood up. He looked at me.
"Come with me" he said.

We walked down corridor and stopped outside a door. The doctor looked at me.
"There is something that seems to be wrong in our papers, Crystal told us she was 13 weeks pregnant with twins" he said.
"Yes, we visited a midwife the other day and she told us that" I said and nodded. I crossed my arms and swallowed.
"There seem to be some kind of mistake, because all our tests shows that she’s only about 8 weeks pregnant" the doctor said. I stared at them. 8 weeks? But… that would mean… It’s not Dave’s.
"You seem surprised" he said and looked at me.
"Chris, I mean Crystal, was with someone else just before me and we thought it was his, but if it’s only 8 weeks… then…" I said and swallowed.
"We can do a DNA test to see if you are the father or not" the doctor said.
"Wait… Didn’t she..?" I asked and looked at him.
"Oh I forgot… She lost one of the babies, but it seems that one is still holding on, therefore we will keep her over night to see if it stays that way" he said and smiled towards me. I just stared at him. We lost one out of two babies, and they might be mine after all. I just swallowed and nodded.

I woke up and I saw Austin sitting next to me. He was looking through the channels on the tv but as soon as I moved a little he turned it off and took my hand. He looked at me with big eyes.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
"What about the… babies?" I asked and I saw sorrow in his eyes. I knew it. I had lost them.
"You lost one of them, but it seems that one is still hanging on" he whispered and smiled. I looked at him and then laid one of my hands on my belly.
"I still have one?" I asked.
"And that’s not just it baby" he said and smiled even bigger. He got tears in his eyes and he looked so happy.
"The doctors realized that the midwife had calculated wrong and they did a test, and… I’m the father, not Dave" he said and squeezed my hand. I stared at him and I teared up. I smiled and squeezed his hands back.
"You’re only 8 weeks pregnant, soon 9 and if everything will be alright in the next few days we’re going to be parents" he whispered. He looked so happy. I smiled and closed my eyes. I teared up even more and started to cry. Out of happiness and relief. I didn’t have to worry. Not anymore.

Austin’s POV

I walked in to Alan and the others and they all looked at me.
"So… How did it go?" Tino asked.
"We lost one baby but one baby is hanging on, and… it seems that I’m the father, and not Dave" I said and nodded. Alan looked at me and the others looked really surprised.
"you thought it was Dave’s?" Aaron asked.
"We got to know she was 13 weeks pregnant, but it seems that it was only 8 weeks… So I’m the father" I said and nodded.
"Congratulations" Phil said and smiled.
"Yeah, congratulations" Alan said and nodded
