The Trouble

The Afters

Abby and I had taken to watching bands at side stage when we've finished. It just means we get to network and usually bump into our friends. But when Pierce the Veil play we tend to look at the crowd more. I've heard them play loads of times and practice millions. In the crowd right at the front I spotted someone familiar. I poked Abby in the side and she looked. "What?"
"See that girl? Isn't that Sasha?"
"Erm . . . I think so," Abby muttered.
"She looks so different," She was right at the front. I saw her sing the words and scream with the crowd. I smiled when I saw her grin up at the band. "It's so weird seeing her like that," I told Abby.
"Has she told you who her ex is?"
"No," I shook my head. "She gets so anxious when I ask. He must have really affected her,"
"Speaking of ex's. What about Mike's?"
"Oh, that,"
"Yeah?" she urged.
"I don't know. We spoke about it. He hates talking about his ex's or mine,"
"He shouldn't,"
"I know. It's not like I'm going to get jealous," I rolled my eyes. I looked out on stage and saw Mike sing along to the first few lines of A Match Into Water. He looked at me and grinned. As Vic sang the words 'I still think you're beautiful' he mouthed them and pointed his drumstick at me. I smiled back and blew a kiss to him.
"I guess you're bound to see your ex every now and again," Abby reasoned.
"But you don't need to lock yourself in the back lounge, refuse to come out and threaten to piss out of the window,"
"Well, no," she smiled.
"I just want him to tell me straight," I sighed.
"I get that," she nodded. We watched them finish their set. Mike ran to me and I wrapped my arms around him. He kissed me and I brought his arm to rest around my shoulders. We started to walk with the others. The boys took their plugs and wires out. Then we went away from the stage and to the buses. We walked inside their bus and Mike and I went to the sofa. I curled up and he smiled.
"Do you know what next week is?" I asked.
"Three days away from now," he teased. I narrowed my eyes playfully. Then I hit him across the head. He grinned and wrapped his arm tighter around me. "I know," he said.
"Good, I was about to break up with you," I joked.
"We're going out,"
"We are?" I questioned.
"Oh yeah. We're going to have serious fun. Not all that soppy flower and dine bullshit,"
"I hate that bullshit," I told him.
"I know," he grinned.
"Remember the best stuff from your brothers list. That's what we're doing,"
"I am not robbing another store," I said flatly.
"Me either. I'm not spending my first anniversary with you behind bars. I meant the best stuff for us,"
"So we're going to get messily drunk, high and I have to sleep with your brother?"
"No," he glared.
"That's a relief. I need to stop. I read an article about how bad smoking pot is for you,"
"That wasn't the part I said no to,"
"I know," I teased. Mike looked and me and broke into a smile. I rested my head in the crook of his neck. Abby was watching us carefully. I raised my eyebrows and she shrugged. "I kind of have something planned too," I told Mike.
"Like what?"
"I've booked us in a hotel," I explained.
"A hotel?" he echoed.
"Well, a cheap one,"
"That's great, Kay',"
"Seeing as you're planning on getting me drunk and high it's a good job,"
"You are such a power couple," Abby commented.
"What?" Mike asked.
"You're right," Jaime nodded.
"You're the couple every one wants to be," Vic said.
"No," I laughed.
"It's true," Tony told us.
"I've never seen you seriously argue," Jaime said.
"We do. When Mike doesn't admit I'm right. He usually sees he'll loose within a few minutes," I joked.
"That isn't true. I'm always right," Mike countered.
"So we just argue when you're being a dick?" I questioned.
"Or when you're being a bitch," he replied easily.
"So all the time?"
"Right," he nodded.
"You're a dick, I'm a bitch. We both have swag and now we're the power couple,"
"Wow," Mike breathed.
"Speaking of having swag," Vic said. "My mama sent over a shit load of our high school photos,"
"Really?" I asked excitedly.
"Vic, no," Mike warned.
"Are you worried I won't find you attractive?" I played.
"No," he rolled his eyes.
"You've seen my high school photos," I reminded him.
"But you were hot in high school. You looked like the type of girl I spent my time trying to make out with,"
"I thought you were cool in high school?" I asked and Vic snorted.
"Doesn't mean I was hot,"
"Did that come later?" I bit my lip. Vic passed me the photos and I looked through. I found one of Mike and started to laugh. He frowned and I grinned up at him. "Sorry," I muttered.
"Am I that bad?"
"It's just you. You're so you and cute and I feel like if I call you hot it's wrong. I can see little Mike getting into fights and moshing to Pantera in the back of his big brothers car,"
"That was basically me,"
"How do you mosh in a car?" Abby questioned.
"How do you not?!" Vic exclaimed.
"I got a tutorial. They put really good music on really loud. Then make you go crazy for three minutes so you get weird looks at the traffic lights,"
"What are they defining as good music?" Abby asked.
"Our music," Jaime joked.
"You can't mosh to your songs," I rolled my eyes.
"Why not?" Tony laughed.
"You just can't. Unless it's to King For A Day. Even then it feels wrong," I explained.
"What do you mosh to?" Mike asked.
"Of Mice and Men. Bring Me The Horizon," I shrugged. Jaime started laughing and we looked at him. He kept on laughing. I raised my eyebrows and he calmed down a little.
"Don't you find it funny?" Jaime asked. "Kay' likes moshing Austin Carlile and Oli Sykes,"
"You know boys reach that age where they grow out of finding sex related words funny . . ." Abby said.
"I guess some don't," I grinned. "Anyway, I love Oli. He's so funny and tattooed and British,"
"I think you need to put on a accent, man," Vic said.
"You're losing her to Oli," Tony added.
"Doesn't he have a girlfriend?" I thought.
"Probably," Abby groaned.
"Shame," I muttered,
"I know," she agreed.
"Can we not talk about Oli?" Mike asked.
"I'm joking. Your tattoos are cooler. You have the Deathly Hallows on your palm for God's sake! What woman wouldn't want that?" I said playfully.
