Warped is almost over. Today is the last US date and the last Pierce the Veil show. Abby and I have today off to enjoy the last day of Warped. I just want to go home now. I miss my friends in San Diego and I know Mike and I's house will need cleaning. Mike and I have been okay and I've had to buy him a new hat seeing as I set fire to the old one. They're getting ready for the show. Mike hasn't spoken to me much today. I just hope he isn't pissed at me. I walked over to him. He had his headphones on to get pumped so I poked him in the back. He turned around and smiled anxiously. I took off his headphones for him. "Hey," I said.
"Hi Kay'," he nodded.
"You okay?" I asked.
"Yeah," he shrugged. I wrapped my arms around him but he didn't respond. I kissed him lightly then passionately but he didn't kiss back. I backed away and frowned at him.
"Mike, what have I done? Why are you pissed at me?"
"I'm not,"
"You haven't spoken to me all day and now you're not kissing me. You're obviously pissed off at me,"
"I'm not. I promise, babe," Mike smiled.
"Okay, well I love you,"
"I love you too," he grinned. I reached up to him and this time he kissed me. I smiled but Mike was still.
"I'm going to wait with Abby," I muttered. "Kill it for me," I whispered. Mike nodded absently at me. I reached Abby. I looked back at Mike. Vic, Jaime, Casey and Tony were standing with him now.
"You okay?" Abby asked.
"Hmm . . ." I nodded. I took Abby's hand. Then we walked closer to them, but out of sight.
"What are we doing?" Abby asked.
"Shh . . ." I told her.
"You doing okay, man?" Casey asked.
"He's shitting it," Jaime laughed.
"You'll be okay," Vic told him.
"I need a joint," Mike sighed.
"Wait till after. You're not doing this high," Vic threatened.
"Thirty seconds!" someone called.
"Be ready," Tony said. They got into line. Abby and I went to side stage and watched them run out. Mike glanced over at me and I smiled. Vic screamed into the mic and we watched.
The set was nearly over now. They had one song left. Abby nudged me and I looked out on stage. Mike had stood up to meet Vic. Vic hugged him tightly before they went back to their positions. "That's weird," I said.
"I fucking love this crowd!" Vic said into the mic. "We have an old song we want to sing if that's okay? It's called Kissing In Cars," he called. "I actually wrote it for a friend who was proposing to his girlfriend. I'd like to dedicate it to a cool person called Kayleigh Playa," I stilled and looked at him in shock. Vic smiled at me. Jaime threw his mic to Mike.
"Kayleigh is my girlfriend. We've been together for a year and a month now," Mike informed the crowd.
"What are they doing?" I muttered to Abby.
"Actually, Kayleigh, come out on stage," Vic urged. I looked at him in horror. I shook my head violently. Mike laughed into the mic nervously.
"Kay'. Can you please come out on stage, babe?" Mike tried. I nodded slightly. Abby pushed me out on stage and Mike walked over to meet me. He leant down to kiss me. Then he stepped back and got down on one knee. My eyes widened and I tensed up. Mike took a ring from his pocket and held it out to me.
"You're fucking kidding me," I gasped.
"Kay', do you maybe want to marry me?" Mike asked quietly.
"Yeah, I do," I nodded. Mike stood up and I grinned. I held out my left hand and he slid the ring on my finger. I wrapped my arms around his neck. He took my waist and lifted me up. I kissed him hungrily. He kissed me back passionately and ran his finger up and down my spine.
"She said yeah by the way," Vic said into the mic.
"You need to finish Kissing In Cars," I reminded Mike.
"I'd rather finish kissing you,"
"I'm not going anywhere," I promised.
"Come sit by me," he urged. I laughed and shook my head.
"I'll be at side stage. I promise I won't move," I told him. Mike grinned at me and kissed me again. We broke away and I saw the crowd cheering. They were all looking us, some recording us with their phones. I squeezed Mike's hand and he went back to his drums. Jaime ran over to me and scooped me up into a hug. I smiled warmly at him.
"Well done, Mrs Mike Fuentes," he whispered in my ear.
"Thanks, Jaime," I laughed. We pulled away and Vic took his turn to hug me. He pulled me tight to him and I laughed. Vic ruffled my hair and kissed my cheek.
"Thanks for saying yes, Sister In Law," Vic said.
"No problem, brother," I replied. Then I went to Tony. He hugged me to and patted me on the back.
"Congratulations, Kay'," he told me.
"Thanks," I grinned. I waved to them and was ambushed by Abby. She was out on stage and she pulled me into a hug. Then she held my hand to look at my ring.
"Wow, it's so perfect," she gushed.
"Congratulations to Mike and Kayleigh!" Vic said into the mic, and they started to play. I was pulled into a hug. I looked and saw Matty. He grinned at me. I grinned back happily. He swayed from side to side with me.
"I'm so pleased for you!" Matty exclaimed.
"Me too!" I told him. He let me go. I heard someone coming over and saw Alan. He smiled warmly at me.
"Motherfucker!" Alan called. "Bitch put a ring on it," he added.
"Come here," I said. We hugged. Alan squeezed me tight and eventually let go.
"Wow, this is great. Congratulations," he told me.
"Thanks, Al'," I replied. The boys finished their set. I waited for Mike. He came off stage grinning at me, like he had done for the entire song. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he picked me up by the waist.
"I love you," I told him.
"Always," he replied easily.
