Too Soon

I rolled over and groaned. My head was pounding and my shoulder ached. “How much did I even drink last night?” I muttered. I tried to sit up but had to lay down again, my head was killing me. There was a half empty bottle of sweet vodka on the bedside table.
My phone started ringing and I sighed. I covered my ears for a minute and waited for it to ring off. It started again and I glared. I picked my my phone and put it to my ear.
“What?” I asked flatly.
“From that tone of your voice I’m going to conclude you're still in bed, hungover and cursing me for calling,” Scott stated.
“You’d be right,”
“You need to get up,”
“Why is that?” I asked tiredly. I sat on the edge of my bed and ruffled my hair.
“Phone meeting with Grimshaw Shoes and video day,” he explained.
“Shit, thanks,” I breathed. I got up and walked through towards the kitchen.
“So, has Mr American left yet?”
“I went home with him?” I asked and poured myself some orange juice.
“You don’t remember? The photos?”
“The photos I remember. The sex I do not,” I replied lightly.
“You went home with him. I had to give Ginger directions back to his hotel,”
“Well, he’s gone,” I shrugged.
“Listen, I’ll talk later. I’ve got an appointment,” Scott told me. He’s a tattoo artist.
“Cool,” I said and hung up.
I walked into the bathroom and switched the shower on. I took my Slipknot vest off – the only thing I was wearing. Then I got inside the shower. The water was hot and beat down onto my back.
When I had finished I wrapped a towel around my middle and one around my hair. I went into my bedroom and opened my wardrobe for something to wear. I chose a denim jeans and a plain green t-shirt.
The doorbell rang and I walked slowly to answer. A post man was in the hall of my apartment building holding a cardboard box. He looked at me and down to the name on the form.
“Vienna Charlotte?” he asked. I could tell he was confused, he’s my regular post man and knows my name is Gemma.
“Yeah, thanks,” I smiled and signed for it. I took the box from him and closed my door with the heel of my foot.
I sat down in the living room and crossed my legs in front of the box. I've been waiting for these for two weeks. I opened the box and pulled the letter out.

I grinned and pulled out a polished shoe box. I opened it and saw a pair of red, shiny stiletto heels. This is part of my job, a perk. I have two jobs. I’m a new age pin-up model, which is why I get free things like this. But I’m also a music video blogger.
I went to put the packaging by the bin in the kitchen and noticed a note on the fridge. I pulled it off and sat down at the breakfast bar.

‘Awesome night. Dinner? Call my cell.
-Austin.’

It said with his number written underneath. I smirked and went to get my phone. I typed in the number and put it to my ear.
“Yeah?” a voice asked. It wasn’t Austin, but it was American.
“Is Austin there?”
“Hang on,” he said. “Yo, Austin! Some English chick wants you!” I heard him shout.
“Hey,” Austin said.
“Hi, it's Gemma,” I smiled.
“You got my note,” he commented.
“So, dinner,”
“Dinner,” he agreed. “There’s a place near my hotel. It’s Japanese, if you like that?”
“I love Japanese,”
“Rad. When you free?”
“I think I’ll be working away this week, but I should be back for Thursday evening,”
“I’ll message you then,” Austin replied.
“Sure,” I said and ended the call. I pulled my diary towards me and wrote in Dinner with Austin for Thursday.
