I pushed the swing that Mia was in as she squealed her little blonde head off. Austin and I still hadn’t any alone time and we’d been in LA for two days because of the two tour dates that were on the tour. Austin always seemed to be busy with something and when he’d finished the show he was too tired to do anything.

“Mummy!”

“Yeah, sweetie?”

“Daddy!” Mia pointed across the park and there Austin stood with a bouquet of flowers in his hands. He walked towards me and handed me the roses before kissing my cheek. Alan was with him and he picked Mia up from the swing and handed her an ice cream.

“Let’s leave Mommy and Daddy alone.” Alan headed back towards the way they came and Austin stood in front of me with a smile on his face.

“I’m sorry, I’ve been an asshole.”

“It’s understandable.” I whispered before sniffing the flowers.

“No, it’s not. You’re supposed to come before all of this.” Austin waved his arms in the air and stepped closer so we were pretty much nose-to-nose.

“You’ve not been on tour for a long while so I understand why you’re so involved in everything. I understand. Really Austin, it’s okay.” I put my hand on his chest and kissed him gently.

“Come with me.” He took my hand and led me towards a secluded part of the park. A picnic table had food on it and a candle sat in the middle. I sat down on one side of the bench and Austin sat on the other side and reached out to hold my hand.

“The rest of the day is all about you. I promise. I’ve not given you nearly enough attention.” Austin lifted my hand and kissed it before handing me a glass of drink. The day went perfectly. We went shopping around New York and when we got back to the bus no one was there so we made love nice and slowly before falling asleep wrapped around each other.
