Too Young To Live This Way

The Star That Burned So Bright Faded The Fastest

The dress I chose was a simple number. It was strapless and clung around my breasts before sucking in slightly and the waist with the centre adorned with a silver ribbon. The skirt of the dress flared out and was lace topped with small amounts of detail. I’d asked Izzy to be my bridesmaid or maid of honour as they called it. In surprise I’d died my hair to a chocolate brown, it wasn’t that I didn’t like the blue I just thought I’d look better in my wedding pictures if I had brown hair.

She was wearing a flowing pink dress that cut off at her knees. It was beautiful and complimented her figure but she was busy wringing her hands together.

“Izzy, are you alright?”

“I think I’m pregnant!” she blurted out and slapped her hands over her mouth as she realised what she’d just admitted. I grabbed my bag that was sitting on the counter and pulled a home pregnancy stick from it. She looked at me funny and I frowned.

“My period was late. I wanted to know what was happening.” I said in way of an explanation. She nodded at me as I handed her the stick.

“Should I do it now?”

“Why not? We’ve still got over ten minutes left.” I pulled my dress up so I could sit on the sofa as she disappeared into the bathroom. I wondered what they were going to do if she was pregnant. It wasn’t that Phil would be a bad dad it was just that with all the moving it shouldn’t be good for the baby.

Izzy came out with the stick in her hands with a deep frown. She sat next to me and I looked over at the little screen. There was nothing there yet.

“What does it mean?” I asked her.

“I need to wait two minutes. A plus means pregnant and negative means not pregnant.” She whispered and shook the stick gently. We counted out loud to two minutes and Izzy and I watched the dial. Her face paled as the little plus appeared.

“This is good though.”

“Is it? Phil doesn’t even want to marry me. He’s not going to want a baby.” She stood and raked her hands through her hair before pacing and back forth in front of me; I reached out and pulled her into a hug.

“He’ll be fine. Trust me. Austin told me that Phil thinks the world of you and I know he does. He’ll take this in stride and you watch; soon enough there will be a wedding band on your finger.”

“You really think so?”

“I promise.” The door opened to the little room that was hidden in the church. I was a bit wary getting married in a church but Austin’s parents had gotten married here and he’d wanted to keep the tradition going. My dad stood with a huge smile on his face.

“You look as stunning as your mother did on her wedding day.”

“Shall we go then?” I asked as he hooked his arm through mine and led me out into the church. The classical wedding march started and I found my feet locked into the floor. My dad turned to me and frowned.

“What’s wrong?”

“He’s making a huge mistake.” I whispered to him.

“Honey, if he thought that he wouldn’t have proposed. Now get your beautiful butt out of here and down that aisle. The man you love is waiting for you to marry him.” My dad practically dragged my down the first few meters of the aisle. I still was shocked at how Austin had been able to pull this together so quickly.

Each end on the pews had pink and red rose bouquets joined by white satin banners. White rose petals were dropped down the aisle by Bandit and Copeland. The whole place was lit by candlelight since we’d decided to get married at evening time.

My eyes strayed to the man of my dreams who was standing at the end of aisle nervously rubbing his hands on his tux pants. He was wearing a black tuxedo with a grey tie, the tux fit him perfectly which I had no doubt that it would.

I noticed a photographer standing at the side and tried my best not to look at her. Soon enough I was standing in front of Austin who held his hand out for my dad to place mine in.
“Who gives this woman to this man?” The priest asked he was old and really happy.
“I do,” My dad said, his voice thick with emotion as he handed my hand over to Austin before glaring at him. “Break her heart I’ll break you.”

Austin paled a little as he nodded. It was strange seeing only his neck tattoo visible and out of habit I reached up and brushed away the hair that had started to fall into his eyes since it was getting way too long. He smiled at me before kissing my palm.

“Austin has told me that he doesn’t wish to have traditional vows and wishes to read his own.” The priest announced.

“I didn’t write any.” I whispered to him.

“Me neither.” He winked before clearing his throat. “Taylor, the first time I saw you I was amazed. You were so strong and beautiful but underneath I knew there was something wrong. Then I saw your cuts and realised that no matter what I had to help you. I had no intention of falling for you when I met you,”

He swallowed hard before looking up at the church ceiling with a forced laugh.

“You see, the thing was I just wanted to comfort you at first, to make sure you were going to survive. I knew you were falling into a really bad case of depression because I saw the signs I saw in myself when my mother died.

“I wish she would have been able to meet you, Taylor. She would have loved you. You’re my everything, my world, my life, without you now I wouldn’t be able to continue doing what I do. You’ve made my life liveable again and I need to thank you for it,

“I love you, I cherish you, I need you in my life and my heart hurts thinking about you leaving me so I’m honoured to be able to become your husband and you’re everything.” Austin wiped his eyes with his thumb and he laughed again.

“Austin, as Kellin wrote in one of his songs ‘They say that love is forever, your forever is all that I need’ he couldn’t have been anymore true. You see the thing is since I first heard your music there was something about you that I knew I loved which sounds like every deranged fan girl,
“Then I saw you live and knew there was something special about you. I never in a million years thought you’d ever think of me the way I thought of you and I thank the heavens every day that you’re still here with me.

“I’m sure you must be crazy to find me beautiful but I’ve finally accepted it that you love me and I love you. That’s all I need…for now.”

Austin smiled and kissed me gently before the priest pried us apart with a shake of his finger. He read something from the bible and Austin and I just rolled out eyes.

“Do you Austin Carlile take Taylor Jameson to be your lawfully wedded wife?”

“I do.” Austin whispered and slid a gold band on my ring finger, it was simple and elegant. “It was my mother’s.”

“Do you Taylor Jameson take Austin Carlile to be your lawfully wedded husband?”

“I do.” I slid the band onto Austin large finger and he twirled it gently. I’d got to choose the ring and it was a simple gold band that had a heart cut out of it. It was manly but represented us.

“I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride.” Austin smirked at me before capturing me by the waist, dipping me and landing a kiss on my lips. It was passionate and purely sexual without being too dirty.

"Stop!" The whole church turned to look at the voice at the doorway.
