Do It Now, Remember It Later
It’s eleven in the afternoon and it’s ridiculously hot. Since we’ve been here the music has kept me from thinking too much about my past. We already saw Pierce the Veil, Sleeping with Sirens and All Time Low play. During All Time Low’s set Alex played Therapy and it was just him and his beautiful voice. Ugh it was exactly what I needed. We are going to see Of Mice and Men in a few minutes. Can I just say that Austin Carlile is one of the most perfect human beings ever? “Ciara, hurry up. We’re going to be late, and if you make me late again I swear-“
“You swear what? That you’re going to hit me again? I’m done with you and you’re bullshit temper.” I turned and quickly ran off towards the Of Mice and Men stage. Did I just breakup with Travis, my boyfriend of two years? Maybe I shouldn’t have said anything. But had I not said something I’d still in an abusive relationship, maybe it’s best I left him. But, I love him…Maybe I should go back to him…You know what? “No. Just no.” I didn’t realize I had said that aloud until someone looked at me and said “can you not say ‘no’ when they’re performing?” and pointed towards the stage. Of course I was too busy arguing with myself to realize they had already started to play.
After their set I quickly went over to the meet and greet table. I’ve always wanted to meet Of Mice and Men. I was going to meet them two years ago but that asshole got in the way. As I neared the table where they were sitting signing stuff taking photos with the fans I pushed the memories out of my head. Alan was the first to say hey pulling me into a tight hug. “Uhm Hi…” I said sheepishly. Did Alan just hug me? Austin just sat looking at me for a second, when I looked away he finally said “I- Sorry for staring… What’s your name?” the most perfect man in the world staring at me… Did I have food stuck in my teeth or something??? “I’m Ciara.” He stood up and said nice to meet you Ciara. Don’t worry I wasn’t staring at you because there’s a bug on you or anything. You’re just so beautiful.” He said the last part while looking at his shoes. “Well I’m glad you think your shoes are beautiful.” I said with a little giggle. Austin looked at me with a huge smile, and simply grabbed my hand and wrote his number on my hand. “Call me in a couple hours.” And then they moved on to the next fan. Austin Carlile just gave me his number….
So after wandering around and seeing some more sets I decided to call Austin. I took out my iPhone and looked at the slightly smeared number on my palm. It only rang once when Austin picked up, “Ciara?” Oh wow, he must’ve been waiting.
“Hey, yeah it’s me. So you wanted me to call?” I said with a little lilt in my voice at the end, what if he asked me to go to a party or something? “Oh, yeah sorry. I wanted to know if you would like to come to the bus to hang out. Maybe watch a movie or two with the guys?” HE WAS ASKING ME TO WATCH A MOVIE WITH HIM. “Yeah, sounds good. Just tell me where to go.” How am I this calm? After Austin gave me directions we said our goodbyes and hung up.
When I got to the bus I barely even got to knock a second time before Alan threw open the door and yelled “HELLO LOVELY!” then he pulled me into another hug. I didn’t take him for the hug every person he sees kind of guy but whatever floats his little boat. Soon enough I was in the back lounge and Austin was already on the couch with 5 different Disney movies. I chose The Little Mermaid first because it’s one of my favorites. After the movie was over it was getting dark outside and bands were still playing. I wonder what Travis is doing… My phone suddly started playing Second and Sebring by Of Mice and Men, I went to answer my phone, it was Travis.
