Can You Fix The Broken?

Perhaps It's Love That's Missing

I knocked gently on Mia’s door as it now was mid-morning and I hadn’t heard anything from her.

“Hey Mia, are you ok?” I called in to her.

After getting no response, I pulled out my key, unlocked her door and slowly slipped it open. To my utter surprise Mia was nowhere to be seen. She wasn’t anywhere in her room.

Damn it!

I ran back into the hall, and bumped into Dylan.

“Woah, easy.” He said, putting his hands on my shoulders to steady me.

“Sorry, I just got a little worried. Mia’s not in her room. Ryan told me last night that she had gone upstairs...so I’m just trying to figure out where she could be.” I explained.

“Well, she didn’t want to be here when Chris and the others were here so maybe she drove her car over to a hotel.” Dylan suggested.

“She would have told us.” I said, shaking my head as we both jogged down the stairs.

“Shhh. Do you hear that?” Dylan hushed me.

I shit up and listened closely, trying to hear what Dylan was hearing, That’s when I finally heard a light laughter coming from down in what seemed to be the kitchen. The laughter was too light and high pitched for it to be any of the guys, which meant it must be Mia.

Making our way to the kitchen I was shocked to say the least when I saw Mia sitting ip on one of the stools at the island - laughing as Ryan was cooking something on the stove and goofing off simultaneously, and Vinny was across from Ryan making what looked like were mimosas.

“Hey, there.” Ryan greeted us.

“Good Morning.” Mia cheered.

“Good morning to you too. You seem to be in an awfully good mood.” I noted to Mia.

“That’s probably just because we’ve been giving her mimosas.” Vinny chuckled.

“Shit, that sounds good.” Dylan said, going behind the counter and grabbing one from Vinny.

He took up a conversation with him and Ryan, and I was more focused on Mia.

“I thought your plan was to head out to a hotel for their stay.” I mused, sitting down next to her.

“It was my plan until I kind of ran into Chris. I woke up and Ryan was in the living room with me, and I can’t lie, he seemed pretty nice and decent. Plus, he told me he’s not a full dom which is kind of a huge plus.” She whispered back.

“Ouch, does that mean he ranks higher than me?” I asked.

“Of course not, silly. I was just kind of surprised when you know...they weren’t monsters.” She said, quiet enough so that only I could hear her.

“Trust me, I wouldn’t let anyone who I doubted for even a second come near you.” I promised her.

“So, the plan for the day is to go to the marina and go out on the boat. Are you down for that?” Dylan wondered.

“As much fun as that sounds, I think you guys should just go. I’ll let you catch up with all of your exciting guy stuff.” She chuckled.

“Are you sure, we don’t mind you tagging along.” Ryan told her.

“Yes, I’m positive. You guys go have fun, I’ll make dinner and have that ready for you guys when you get home.” Mia said.

“Alright. Let me go quickly pack up and then we can all meet in the car.” I stated.

“Sounds good!” Dylan called to me.

20 minutes later, I was running back down the stairs with my swim trunks on and t-shirt on top. Everyone now was in the front hall, except for Mia who was finishing up eating her breakfast.

“Hey, last call for going out today.” I said.

“I’ll be fine, Felix. Go have fun.” She groaned, rolling her eyes at me.

“I’m just a phone call away.” I told her, giving her a quick hug from behind.

I left it at that and quickly followed everyone out the door. We decided to take the Cadillac Escalade so that everyone could fit. I had been elected to drive, and Ryan to my surprise was quick to take the passenger seat.

“So, that Mia is a very lovely girl.” Ryan mused, looking out the window.

“I’d say the feeling is mutual. I was shocked to see that she was up and talking with this morning.” I admitted.

“Is it really that shocking?” He asked.

“Yes.” Dylan answered for me.

“It was about as probable as us getting struck by lightning twice in a row today on the water.” I told him.

“She got hurt that bad, huh?” Chris commented from the back.

“When we first found her, the only thing that allowed us to actually know she was alive was the fact that she was screaming. It was fucking awful.” I explained.

“I’ve known her for all of 7 hours, and it’s even obvious to me that she doesn’t deserve any hurt or pain, she seems too sweet and pure.” Ryan stated.

“Wait a second...are you fucking crushing on her?” I said, connecting the dots together.

“She’s beautiful.” He admitted.

“Oh for fucks sake Ryan, why is this the time to find a girl you like?” Ricky groaned from the back.

“You know...crazy as this sounds, maybe that’s what she needs. Someone to love, someone to kind of save her from herself.” Dylan stated.

“You realize though that she might just be acting nice to be polite. I don’t want her feeling pressured into anything.” Ryan said, worried.

“First lesson we ever learned about Mia. You can’t pressure her into anything she doesn’t want. Give it a few more days to think about things while you’re here, and if you still feel drawn to her, gently bring it up.” I replied.

“Would you seriously be okay with that?” Ryan asked.

“Yes. If she gets hurt anywhere along the line though, we will have to kill you.” Dylan stated, not joking at all.

“No pressure there.” Ryan said nervously, swallowing hard.

“Listen, if you really feel drawn to her, more than just from lust, go for it. Maybe it’s love that she’s been missing.” I whispered to him.

I’d never given it much thought, but perhaps that was the missing piece. We’d been so scared that any male figure would bring back memories of that horrid night, but maybe we weren’t exactly accounting for the fact that Mia could very well actually be lonely.

Maybe it was love she needed, as cliche as that sounded.

Who knows? I guess all we could do was wait and watch how she interacted with Ryan to see if the feelings continued to be reciprocated from Mia.

I started to think to myself that we might actually be lucky that Chris and the others came early.

This is so totally off topic, but HOLY HELL! The website is working again!

@WednesdaysCoffin
I always get frustrated when I can't foresee the future of my book, but I tell myself that at least it means it won't be predictable. If you don't know what's coming - the reader sure as heck won't know, unless they have kick ass guessing skills.
This story is absolutely in it's early stages, and chapter by chapter I see it growing and getting to the more in depth, exciting stuff. I just posted a new chapter, so I hope you enjoy :D

I understand completely. I started writing "Time To Waste" over a year ago, actually, and I still to this day have not decided how it's going to end and exactly how the ending will play out. So, I totally get it! It's very early days yet for this story, and I'm just excited to see where you take it and what you divulge along the way. :)

@WednesdaysCoffin
I'll be honest, you're not the only one torn about who she will end up with. I have a pretty good idea of the rest of the plot, but who knows, things can always change! The BDSM hints will continue to slowly come out and between where her love interest goes, it will all come together eventually, you have my word!

Hmm. An interesting development in this chapter. I'm kind of torn between if I want a Mia/Ryan romance or if I want to see her with someone else, ahem, who might be a little taller and have more tattoos. :) Because I am predictable like that! Though the idea is intriguing, and I'm also intrigued by the covert BDSM hints here and there that the guys are all involved in that community. I'm really curious to see where this is all heading . . . . :D
