Seamless and Shameless

come on holly, put down the gun for me.

The tension in the small office is tense enough to feel. It’s a standoff with no obvious winner. The thirty year old manager rubs his fingers over the bridge of his nose, sighing deeply.
“Would you just give it up already? There is no way in hell we can balance all these tours at the same time. Aug, I know you want to make this work, but if we go through with this the band is gonna be strung out as hell and the fans are going to know it.”
August furrows her brows, wrapping her auburn hair around her finger as her lips slip into a pout.
“But Trevor, you know just as well as I do that we need all the exposure we can get before we release this new EP. We’ve got to do this.”
Trevor purses his lips, leaning forward over the desk separating the pair. “How about this? You can go on the Reckless Appeal and the Tools of Persuasion tours, but you drop out of the Ice Heart tour.”
August shakes her head side to side. “The Ice Heart tour is the only Australian tour. We need to get our music out over there.” Trevor takes a deep breath before looking to the rest of the band members seated in his office.
“What do you guys think? Ice Heart tour or no?” All three of the twenty-something males look to August to see what to say. She had been a leader since birth - regardless of the fact that she was the youngest in the band, having only turned eighteen the past autumn - it was only natural that she make the decisions concerning their growing band.
August nods at the boys, urging them to speak. Caleb clears his throat before voicing, “I think we should keep all three tours.” Cooper and Nick nod their assent. August turns her attention to their newly appointed manager, smiling smugly.
Trevor rolls his eyes to glare at the ceiling, as if an answer would miraculously appear there.
“Fine, okay. What about if I said I could get you on one of the biggest alternative tours out here? You’d be playing to thousands of kids over here everyday who’ll end up going and tweeting about you to their friends throughout the world. Bam, you get the exposure of going to Australia without the expenses of actually going there.”
August’s mouth quirks to the side as she thinks it over.
“What tour?”
Trevor leans in, knowing there’s no way on Earth this small-town band from Tennessee would turn down his offer.
“Warped.”
