Four.

I felt bad for asking Austin to help me clean up, but he'd said that it was alright. But, I felt even worse after he saw the mess I'd made of his things.

"Damn..." he said slowly, his eyes scanning the whole room. I already had trash bags ready, they just needed to be filled up.

"I'm sorry... I was just in the moment," I said. Austin shook his head.

"What made you-?"

"He cheated on me," I said simply, and with that, I started picking things up and putting them in bags. Austin started helping me eventually, and soon we were just about done.

As austin tied the last bag up, he looked at me.

"Hey, I'm sorry," he said.

"For what?" I asked. Austin sighed and sat down on the bed. That reminded me to change the sheets.

"For what he did to you. That shit sucks," he replied. I sat down next to him.

"You don't have to be sorry. I'm the one that should be," I said. Austin glanced at me.

"Why's that?" He asked. A ghost of a smile tugged at my lips.

"Because now we have to clean out his nightstand," I said, gesturing to it. It was messy and unorganizsed, quite unlike my own. Austin nodded as I slid myself over to the nightstand, and I picked up the ring.

"If we find his wallet and the receipt, I'm returning this," I said. Austin approached and nodded again as I set the ring back down. He grabbed another bag, and we started with the surface of the nightstand. He had his alarm clock, which I unplugged from the wall, and i tossed it in the bag. Usually his phone would be charging, but I hadn't seen the thing in ages. His deodorant went next, followed by a book and his reading glasses.

I opened the drawer and sitting right on top were several condoms. Immediately, my face flushed and I snatched them up, ready to toss them in the bag.

"Wait, those are actually really good condoms," Austin said. I stared at him.

"Then you take them," I said, shoving them into his chest. He chuckled and shoved them in his pocket. Soon, the contents of the drawer were indie the bag, and I shut the drawer. Austin tied the bag up and followed me into the kitchen.

"Do you want anything to eat or drink?" I asked.

"I should actually probably get going," he said. I nodded and wrung my hands together.

"Well, thanks for helping me. It means a lot," I said. Austin smiled and nodded.

"Anytime you need my help, just call me," he said.

"Can do. I'll see you later," I said, and I followed him to the door. He let himself out, and I locked up behind him.
