As Yet Untitled...

Summary

"Growing up in San Diego was fun. Growing up with a dad in a post-hardcore band and a mom that was one of the most famous Anglo-American tattoo artists was also fun. It was, when I was little. Nowadays? Not so much.

People automatically assume that because your dad was in one of America's most well-known post-hardcore bands and a mom who was as famous as as her best friend Hannah Snowdon gave you the best lifestyle, but it didn't. Okay yeah, fair enough,
you were more well-off than some, but that's about it. You may rarely see your parents together at the same time. Then, there was the one-in-a-million possibility of losing your mom in the process.

And yeah,
your mom could've been there for you for your whole life, being motherly and still licking her thumb to wipe the Nutella from your face before you head off into "the big bad world", even when you're fifteen years old. She could go to all your school events and volleyball games, take care of you while your dad's away in god knows where, and even take you away on "mother-daughter vacations" just to have an excuse to spend time with you before you got too old for that kind of thing and are too busy making your own way in the world.

But one day, when you least expect it, she'll be taken away from you for no good reason, and that'll fucking suck the life from you. It'll shut you down inside and make you not want to see the sun anymore. And guess what? People are gonna think that that won't matter, because "hey, you've got money, you'll be okay." But no, it does matter, because it'll shatter you to pieces. Money doesn't make everything better, believe me.

To cut a long story short, just because somebody has a good "public" life, doesn't mean that their "private" life is so much like sunshine and rainbows. What's that saying again? Oh yeah, "don't judge a book by its cover." Honestly, don't." - Charlotte Preciado.
