Cold, Empty Mattresses And Falling Stars

*Cassidy's POV*

I eventually tripped and he grabbed it out my hand before spraying me once and getting off me, "Mike!!" I squealed when I got up because he sprayed me twice, I rubbed my face and realized my foundation was coming off, "You should have expect-" he said but stopping as he inspected my face, I completely forgot about the bruise on my cheek, "What the fuck is that?" He asked walking towards me, "What's what?" I asked playing dumb before taking a small step away from him, "That bruise on your face, who did that?" He asked getting over protective, "Oh that?" I laugh weakly, "That's nothing I got hit by a door at work, nothing big" I lied through gritted teeth, "Yeah but I've never seen a door that has a hand before" he said reaching out and touching it, I flinched and moved away as it hurt, a lot, "Cass, who was it?" He asked calmly, "I told you I got hit by a door" I said with tears welling up in my eyes, "Okay okay, you got hit by a door" he said before holding his arms out, I reluctantly walked into them, it was a long, tight and meaningful hug, "Do you want me to take you home?" He asked softly into my ear, I thought for a minute and realized that Tamara was staying at Sallie's and Dad was out at work so it would have just been Karen and I alone, I shook my head, "Can I stay here?" I asked panicking a little, he pulled me back and smiled, nodding, "Absolutely" he said kissing my forehead before leading me up to his bedroom, "You can have my room and I'll be in the guest which is literally next door, if you need anything just come and get me, okay?" He asked, I smiled and nodded before he handed me a t-shirt and left, I was cold and alone in Mike's room so I decided to slowly get up and walk to the guest room, I knocked on the door and entered to see Mike perched up on his phone, he locked it and looked at me smiling, "Can I sleep with you tonight?" I asked, without a word he moved over and pulled the covers back revealing a space for me, I made my way over and climbed in, cuddling into Mike's cold, bare chest, "Night Mike" I said before he ducked down and kissed the back of my head, "Night Cass" he whispered softly. I woke up to being hit in the face with a wet cloth, "Mike!!" I shouted when I took it off my face and realized he was standing over me laughing, "Come on dumpling, I made pancakes" he said before leaving, I blushed a little at his pet name before jumping up and following him downstairs, when I got into the kitchen there were two plates of pancakes and maple syrup, black tea and black coffee in the middle of the table, "I didn't know what you preferred in the morning?" Mike smiled before sitting down across from me, I smiled back before sitting down as well, as I was helping Mike tidy up the front door opened and slammed closed, "Mikeyyy" a lady shouted as her feet padded through, I shot him a look, "In the pantry" he said shooing me in the small cupboard.

"Oh Michael look at you" she gushed hugging and kissing him, "Ma" he said wiping his cheek, "Oh wheesht Michael, so how was your date?" She asked looking around for any sign of me, "How did you- Vic?" He asked sighing and turning to finish washing the dishes, "We're just worried about you, you took a hard fall after Frenchi and you're only getting your life on track again, is it really time to be dating already?" She asked, I saw him quickly glance over before he started scratching the back of his neck, I noticed he did this when he got nervous or anxious about something, "Mom can we please not talk about this?" He asked, she sighed and sat down, "Fine fine, who was she anyway, another blonde bimbo!?" She laughed pouring herself some coffee, I felt kind of offended about that as Mike didn't say anything he just ignored her, "Am I going to meet her?" She asked, he shook his head, "I dunno Mom" he said before sitting down next to her, "Vic told me that you liked her" she said, "And who did Vic hear that off?" He asked shaking his head, "Oli, he told him that every time you speak about her your face lights up and every time you see her you can't help but speak to her, like two forces, no?" She asked, he shook his head, "If I didn't like her, I wouldn't have persistently asked her on a date" he laughed clearing up her cup, "Why did you come here?" He asked clearly getting frustrated with all the questions "Oh I need some cans of food for the charity event" she said standing up and walking to the pantry, "Mom wait-" Mike said but it was too late, once she opened the door she jumped surprised to see anyone in there and froze as we stared into each others eyes for a second, "Mike why is there a girl in pants and your shirt in your pantry?" She asked, I gently smiled, terrified of the 5'2' lady standing in front of me, "Uh Mom, this is Cassidy, Cass, this is my Mom" Mike said, grabbing my hand and pulling me past her so I was standing beside him, "Hi Mrs Fuentes" I said smiling and extending my hand, "Oh please dear, call me Vivian" she said pushing my hand away and pulling me in for a hug, I was a bit taken back, when we pulled away Vivian had a big smile on her face, "Yes, definitely not like the others" she smiled grabbing her canned food and walking out, "Bye Mike, goodbye Cassidy" she said before the door slammed shut, we both let out a sigh of relief before I gave Mike a stern look, "Blonde bimbo?" I asked, he weakly laughed before realizing I was being serious, "Yeah..." he trailed off.
