Cold, Empty Mattresses And Falling Stars

*Mike's POV*

As I sat nervously waiting for Cassidy to get back I couldn't help but over-think, what if she didn't like my surprise? I can't take it back? Where was she? Did she get into a car crash? Did she leave me? How long does the appointment take? She said she was on her way back ten minutes ago, where is she? My thoughts were eventually interrupted when the door handle clicked, my head shot up from the couch to see Cassidy entering with another green envelope in her hand, I jumped up and walked over to her giving her a gentle kiss and hug, "How did it go?" I asked once we broke away and walked back over to the couch, maybe it was me but I felt like she was being more distant than she was before she left even though she hasn't even spoke yet, "Good, everything is good" she smiled nodding and looking at the green folder, I sighed and nodded before slowly pulling the green folder away from her, she watched me closely as I sifted inside for the envelope, I finally found it, "Ready?" I asked, she nodded faintly before taking a hold of my extended hand, I opened it with my free hand and pulled out the small piece of paper, I quickly turned it over to reveal, 'BOY' written in blue block capitals, I looked at Cassidy as excitement began to build up in me, I could see that she was happy but somewhat distant at the same time, "Cass, we're having a boy!" I grinned, she nodded before realization hit her and she began to get more hyper, before either of us had a chance to say something Cassidy threw her arms around me, catching me off guard and making us fall on the floor, she then proceeded to straddle me, "I have a perfect name" I smiled, she looked at me confused, "Lucas Remus Fuentes" I smiled, she looked at me for a couple of seconds while she thought, "I actually like that" she said laughing a little, "Thanks" I smiled before she could speak again there was a scratching sound, "Mike, what was that?" She asked nervously as she looked around and grabbed my shirt with both hands, "That is your surprise!" I said widening my eyes and grabbing her legs tightly as I stood up and placed her on her feet, she was holding my hand and using me as a shield the whole way to the kitchen door, which was closed, I slowly opened it and before you could see anything you heard the scraping on on the wooden floor, "Oh my god! MIKE!!" She shouted excitedly as she walked into the kitchen covering her mouth in awe.

"What's her name?" She asked as she watched the small black Labrador puppy run around the garden excited to see and play with someone, "Well I was leaving that up to you" I smiled wrapping my hands around her waist as we watched the pup chasing after the tennis ball nearly the same size of its head, "Hmm, Fig" she said smiling pleased with her choice, "That's a very pretty name" I said kissing her neck, I felt her squirm away from me to go play with the dog, "What do you wanna do about dinner?" I shouted to her, "Homemade pizza!" She shouted back, jumping up and smiling at me, "Okay, I'll go get some ingredients and topping and you watch Fig" I said waving her goodbye as I collected my keys and ran to the car, as I reached the supermarket I saw that it was fairly busy, which unfortunately means that there is more of a risk to bump into someone and I really just wanted to get some groceries and get back to my forever growing family, I grabbed a basket and walked around picking up some tomato pasata, cheeses, salami, peppers, mozzarella, flour etc... When I eventually got to the checkouts I saw someone in front of me, I knew them by the back of their head which was weird even thought their hair was ruined by what looks like too much hair dye, the first person that came to mind was Frenchi and to my annoyance and disgust, it was, she quickly collected her groceries and looked at me in the eyes, "Mike!!?" She squealed, I just rolled my eyes and waited for all of my items to be scanned, "Wow, that's a lot for just you, is there room for another?" She asked winking, "I dunno, ask my fiancee" I smirked, she looked annoyed and hurt, "You settle down fast" she scoffed, "It's been 4 years and I finally found the one" I smiled sarcastically, "So let me guess, some groupie you knocked up?" She laughed, I saw the cashier looking at me before rolling her eyes, I just laughed a little and nodded, "Actually no, we've been together for nearly 2 years, we moved in together and now we are getting married in 3 weeks, we also have a pup now" I smiled before collecting my bags which the cashier helpfully packed for me, "I need to go attend to my pregnant fiancee" I said barging past her without registering what just came out of my mouth, "So she is pregnant!" She laughed, I groaned and rolled my eyes as I continued to walk away, as I got back in the car I sat in it thinking about what she could do with that information, I started to panic a little as I drove home, Cassidy is going to hate me if she hears about this.

Sorry I haven't updated in a while, I've been so busy with school and meetings and things, I honestly want to cry at all the stress but here you areeee!
