*Mike's POV*

"I'm so tired, I never got a wink of sleep last night" Cass moaned while rubbing her eyes, "How come?" I asked confused as she had the bed all to herself, she just shrugged not wanting to say anything, I smiled at her knowing that she had gotten used to me being beside her all the time, I know this because I'm the same way, "Mike watch out!" Cassidy shouted, I quickly turned my attention back to the road and saw a deer standing there, I swerved away from it causing the car to roll into on coming traffic, our car was hit by a different car and it stopped rolling the only problem was, we were upside down, I heard people shouting and screaming, my door flew open and I quickly jumped out, hobbling around the other side and opening Cassidy's door, our heads were bleeding and my leg was cut, I saw people on their phone calling 911, "Cass!! CASSIDY!! STAY WITH ME CASS, THE PARAMEDICS ARE ON THEIR WAY!" I shouted as I tried pulling her out of the car, I saw her eyes slowly closing as she became unconscious, in the distance I could hear sirens wailing, I was still trying to pull her out but the paramedics rushed over, "Come on son, let's get you to the ambulance" one said, helping me up, "No, Cass, you have to get Cassidy out" I rushed motioning at her, "We will, I promise, but in order to do that you need to come with me" he said calmly, I nodded and walked over to the ambulance with him, he put me on a trolley and hooked me up to a couple of machines, "Right, Mike, Cassidy is going to the hospital in a different ambulance, we will meet her there, okay?" He asked, I smiled faintly and nodded before he shut the doors and got in, he put the sirens on and raced to the hospital, when we got there I saw Cassidy getting wheeled out and rushed through to a room, the paramedic helped me into a wheelchair and pushed me through to the same room, I was put in the bed beside her, "Okay Mr Fuentes, your mother and brother are on their way in, Miss Harrolds here has been put in a medically induced coma which should last no longer than three or four days, it is mostly for observational purposes" one of the nurses explained, I nodded and looked at her, she was so beaten up, there was a knock at the door and in walked my Mom, Vic, Jaime and Tony, I was surprised to see no Austin, "Oh my boy" my Mom cried running over to me and giving me a kiss, the doctor and nurses excused themselves and walked out, she then ran over to Cassidy and kissed her cheek.

"What the hell happened?" Vic asked after everyone settled a little, "We were coming back from Target and a deer ran on to the road causing us to swerve and hit on coming traffic" I explained with tears in my eyes, all I could think was how this was all my fault if I had been paying attention none of this would have happened, I felt the tears stream down my face before my Mom wiped them, "Michael, don't blame yourself, you couldn't have prevented this" she said holding my hand, I smiled faintly at her, there was another knock at the door, this had to be Austin, but it wasn't it was the paramedic from earlier, "Hello Mr Fuentes, we thought that we should return these to you, we opened them and they are all in excellent condition" he said before a couple paramedics brought in three boxes and a teddy bear, resting the swing and two chair boxes up against the wall and handing me the bear, "Thank you" I smiled before looking at the bear, I reached over and put it on the table separating mine and Cassidy's bed, "Has anyone spoke to Austin?" I asked, Tony nodded, "I did, he said he'll be in tomorrow" he said, I nodded and threw my head back on the pillow, "Coffee, anyone?" Jaime asked, I nodded and him and Tony left, "I'm going to go outside and meet your dad" Mom said before giving Vic and I a kiss and leaving, "Vic I need a favor" I said, "Anything" he said sitting up, "I need you to build these swings on the porch and tidy the house up" I said, he nodded but looked confused, "Is that it?" He asked, I shook my head and he laughed a little, "Of course not" he said, "I also need you guys to organize Cassidy's birthday bash, she's going to be 22 and I want it to be special" I said smiling a little, he nodded, "When is her birthday?" He asked, "August 8th" I replied sharply, he nodded and put it in his phone, it's three weeks away, that should give plenty of time for planning, right? I was brought out of my thoughts when Jaime and Tony returned with coffee and my Mom and Dad. They stayed for a couple more hours before heading out, "Mike, your Mom left these for you" one of the nurses smiled as she handed me sweats and a t-shirt, "Thanks" I said before looking over at Cassidy, after she left I quickly got changed under the sheets, my leg in agony still, I slowly got up and limped over to the chair beside Cass' bed and sat in it, holding her hand as I slowly started to fall asleep.

-8 Days Later-

Cass still hasn't woken up and the doctors are starting to get a little worried, every night that we have been here I still go over to her chair and fall asleep holding her hand, I miss her so much, I miss her voice, I miss her laugh, I miss her cold, nimble fingers on my chest late at night as we curl up on the couch and watch Disney movies, I miss her laziness, her hyperness, her sadness and happiness, I miss her so much, I would give the world just to hold her in my arms again without the tubes and pain and sorrow. As I sat contemplating our life past and future I felt a small squeeze at my hand, I've been feeling this for days now but the doctors and nurses told me I was just feeling things due to the amount I miss her, I closed my eyes and shook the thoughts out of my head, before I could open them again, I felt another small squeeze followed by movement, my eyes shot open and I saw Cassidy stirring as she started to waken up, with my knee stitched up and healed I ran over to the door and started shouting for a nurse, I saw one come running down the hall into the room, she walked over to Cassidy's bed and picked up a the board on the front, standing and observing her as she started waking up, I heard her groan and then mumble something, I quickly got back over to the chair and held her hand again, "Cass?" I said hoping she could hear me, "Mike" she said weakly, I got a shiver down my spine as my name rolled off the tongue, "Mike" she said again as her eyes slowly opened, focusing on me, "Mike, where are we" she asked with a weak tone, "We're in the hospital" I said she looked around and nodded, taking her hand from mine and placing it on my face, "I love you" she whispered softly, I smiled with tears in my eyes, "I love you too" I replied as a tear escaped my eyes, the nurse pulled me aside as the rest of the nurses started to unhook cables from Cassidy, "She looks well and seems to have her memory but we will need to do some test just to make sure that we are correct and she should be able to go home with in the next 4-5 days, if not sooner" she smiled, I nodded, shaking her hand and thanking her before she and the rest of the nurses left, "Where's the guys?" she asked as I sat on her bedside, "They are coming in later today, they've been coming in every day since we were here, Austin came in a couple of times but he couldn't bare it. he's coming in with the guys today" I explained, she smiled and nodded, "And Tamara?" She asked, I nodded, "She came in yesterday, she was going to stay but she had exams this morning so she needed to study for them" I said smiling at her, "I hate Deer" she laughed, I smiled and nodded, "Well now I only have 3 pairs of black jeans" I said as she giggled at me, "I need new clothes" she said looking down at herself, I nodded and picked up the bag my Mom left a couple of days ago, "Well Mom being Mom brought you in a dress but Austin brought you in jeans and a t-shirt, what one do you want to go with?" I asked, she thought for a minute, "Jeans and a tee" she said before sitting upa little, I nodded before setting her make up, clothes and brush on the table beside her bed, "I missed you" I said, she nodded and smiled with tears in her eyes, "I missed you too" I said before leaning down and kissing her passionately.
