The Taste Of Blood Remains

Do You Remember?

*Cassidy's POV*

We finally arrived back at Austin's after driving in silence, "Are you hungry?" He asked as we entered his house, I just shrugged and made my way over to the couch, "Do you wanna watch a movie?" He asked again sitting next to me, I shrugged again, I know how stupid I must sound but I didn't want to speak to anyone at the moment, "Okay, I'm gonna out pizza in" Austin sighed getting up and walking to the kitchen shaking his head at me, I frowned a little before getting up and following him, I saw him standing over the counter as he waited on the kettle boiling, I walked up behind him and wrapped my arms around his torso, "I'm sorry I'm being stubborn" I mumbled into his back, I felt him sigh before he turned around and put his arms around me, pulling me into his chest, "Don't worry about it" he said, kissing the top of my head, I nodded and pulled back, still wrapped in his arms, "Pepperoni?" I asked, he laughed and nodded, "I got you bro" he said before letting me go and pouring hot water into both of our cups, "So, do you want to talk about it?" He asked as we were eating the pizza, I shook my head no, he nodded and pulled me closer to him, "Will you take me home?" I asked already knowing the answer, "Absolutely!" Austin said jumping up and grabbing his keys. After a ten minute drive, 20 minute walk, we were sitting in my drive way which means my dad must be at work, thank god, "I think I have an answer for you?" I said, staring at my house and then looking at Austin, I could tell he was nervous for what I was about to say, "I'll go with you to Warped" I said smiling at him, he beamed back, "Really!?" He asked stunned because he knows I've never been out of town, I nodded and hugged him, "Okay, we leave in 3 days, be ready" he said, I nodded and jumped out, I waved bye and went inside, now all that was left to do was tell my parents, that wouldn't be too hard but I don't think Tamara will take it very well.

"I'm home!" I shouted as I entered the living room, weird, no one was there, I walked through to the kitchen and saw Tamara and mom sitting at the table, "What cha doing?" I asked, mom just looked at me, "We're revising for Tamara's test tomorrow, so if you don't mind, go away and stop disturbing us" she said, I gave a half smile to Tamara and shook my head no, mom looked at me shocked, "I have something to tell the both of you" I said seriously, they both looked at me confused, my mom obviously looked army stomach, which I was kind of offended by, "I'm going to Warped with Austin and his band" I said, mom just scoffed where as Tamara looked hurt, almost betrayed, "What, are you sleeping with him?" My mom asked, I just rolled my eyes and shook my head, "No, we're just friends" I said, looking back at Tamara who had tears forming in her eyes, "What's the catch?" Mom asked, I sighed again, "I leave in 3 days" I said, I heard Tamara's chair squeak across the floor, "3 days!! You leave in 3 days and you're only telling us now!?" She said, raising her voice and running upstairs, "Tam" I called after her but she had already ran into her room and closed the door, "Well done, do you really have to ruin her future just because you couldn't make a good life for yourself? She isn't going to be able to pass her test now, great sister you are!" My mom shouted at me as I entered the kitchen, I looked at her shocked that she had just said that, "Fuck you!" I said getting more angry, she looked annoyed as she stood up and edged closer to me, raising her hand and slapping my cheek as hard as she could, I stared at her with tears in my eyes, how could she? She was supposed to be my mom? I ran upstairs and into my room, closing the door behind me, I broke down, all these years of hate and disgust from not only the bullies at school but my parents too, it sickened me to the stomach, they called me the problem child and I guess it was true? I dragged my suitcase over and unzipped it in the middle of the floor, as I was staring into it, I broke down, I couldn't believe my family hated me!?

I shuffled over to my sock drawer and started o rummage around for a small, rectangle velvet red box, I finally found it and pulled it out, sitting on the floor with it, I opened it and inside were a selection of three small, silver blades, bandages and medical tape, I pulled one of the three blades out and put it against my forearm, I took a deep breath and closed my eyes as I dug the blade into my skin and let the blood run down my arm, I made 4 deep cuts, not too deep but deep enough to feel something, I could feel my arm start to throb and pulse as the blood elegantly flowed down my arm like a peaceful river, I wiped my tears away with my left hand and threw my head back on the chest of drawers, going in to deep thought as my arm still bled, I was pulled out of my thoughts when they was a knock at the door, "Don't come in" I said weakly but she didn't listen, Tamara burst in my room, "Look Cass I'm sor- Not again, Cassidy!" She said as she walked in my room and saw me on the floor, she quickly closed the door and ran over to me, "No, just leave me, I'll be fine" I said, trying to swat her away as she cut off some bandages, "No, you won't" she defended, I rolled my eyes and watched as she wrapped my arm up neatly and gently, she's done this many times before, too many times before, "Tam, you didn't have to, I could've managed" I said as she helped me up and placed me in my bed, she shook her head, "Clearly you couldn't have but okay" she said throwing her hands up in defense, I rolled my eyes again, "Need help packing?" She asked as she saw the suitcase lying on the floor unzipped, I laughed and nodded a little, "I'm going to miss you, baby g" I said, pulling Tamara close to me as we sat on the bed, "I'm going to miss you too, Cass" she said sniffing, I tutted at her, "No, don't cry!" I said pulling her back and kissing her forehead before wiping her tears away with my thumb, she nodded and smiled a little before getting up and walking over to my wardrobe, "Can I have some of your clothes since your fashion taste is impeccable?" Tamara asked looking through mt clothes, I sighed and laughed a little, "Suppose!" I said rolling my eyes and watching Tamara sort through my clothes, I'm going to miss her so much.

10 minutes and 4 bags of my clothes later Tamara was pretty proud of herself as she took all of the bags through to her room and came back to mine to help me pack, "Okay so you do know I'll be visiting you guys" Tamara said as we finished packing and lay on my bed, I nodded, "Absolutely, I'm going to miss you so much!" I said rolling over and hugging her, "I'm going to miss you too" Tamara whispered into my ear, we were pulled apart when my phone started ringing, it was Austin, "Hello?" I answered, "Hey Cass, we have a little issue about Warped that you're not going to like" he said, I started to worry about what he was going to say, I took a deep breath and shook my head, "Don't tell me" I said, "What?" He asked, shocked that I had just said no to something important, "I don't want to hear because I will end up changing my mind and I don't want to" I said, I heard him sigh, "Okay, I'll see you tomorrow, be ready this time" he laughed, I nodded and said my goodbyes and hung up, "I'm gonna go get a Subway, you coming?" I asked Tamara, her eyes lit up as she nodded her head and ran out of my room to grab her shoes, I have to admit, I am a little curious as to what Austin was going to tell me?
