Stung and Employed By The Wasp

Meet The Rest of Our Crew

I groaned and rolled over as the sun came shining through the shades over the window.

It took me a few seconds to truly wake up, before I sat up and slowly started to come wide awake.

“Fuck!” I screamed, seeing a tall figure sitting at the edge of the bed.

“Good morning sunshine! Nice to see those pretty blue eyes wide open.” Ghost cheered.

“You guys don’t do subtle, do you?” I asked.

He just laughed.

“Subtle isn’t fun.” He told me.

“That’s not the point though, Chris would like you to be in your work uniform in thirty minutes and meet him down in the main entrance.” Ghost finished.

I sighed.

“Uniform?” I asked.

“This is just the off day uniform.” He told me, tossing a pair of leggings and a short sleeve black t-shirt.

Before I could respond to him, he was out the door.

I threw the clothes on the floor, and stayed in the clothes I had been in last night.

I’d play a long a tiny bit if I had to, but I was not about wear this ‘uniform’.

As those thirty minutes ticked down, I spent my time looking out the window, trying to find possible places that I could run out of or run to when I got out of here.

Peering back up at the clock, I realized thirty minutes had always passed, and not wanting to risk too much, I made my way down to the main foyer.

Chris was standing in the middle of the room, wearing a black sweatshirt with black jeans that had rips in the knees.

It seemed out of character for him, and that meant something considering I only had known of him for two days. From what I had seen, he always had been in a suit, and his personality seemed far more sophisticated.

“Strike two, Miss Blake. First you’re late, and then you decide you don’t need to be in your uniform.” He tsked, as I walked further into the room.

“Oh my apologies, I forgot.” I taunted him, smiling.

“I don’t like it when people lie to me.” He growled.

“What a surprise, we actually have something in common.” I snapped back.

“My advice to you is let that go.” He said, in a very gruff voice.

I smiled at him.

“Let me go and I’ll let it go.” I cooed.

He threw his head back and laughed.

“Oh my, you’re just trying to make this as fun for me as possible.” He chuckled.

“You are fucking infuriating.” I growled.

He said nothing, all he did was smile at me with this sickening grin.

That’s enough, I’ve had it.

I balled my hand up into a fist and got ready to swing at him.

Just as my fist almost reached his face, he reached out, grabbed my fist with his and just held it there.

“Hit me one more time and I’ll break every fucking bone in that hand. Understood.” He seethed.

I looked up and saw something new in his eyes, an unparalleled rage.

I wasn’t stupid, I knew when I needed to back down, and that was now.

“Got it.” I whispered.

“Good, now follow me.” He said, letting my hand go and walking us down hall that continued on straight from the front door.

We made our way back to the grand staircase, and there was a man who was unfamiliar to me standing at the bottom stair.

From what I could tell just by eyeing him up he was about 5 inches shorter than Chris was, and no less tattooed than him. It was crazy to me just how much ink covered every one of these men.

I noticed that he was in Chris’ usual outfit - a black long sleeved dress shirt with black pants, and a beanie on his head that appeared to be hiding another web of tattoos.

As soon as he came into my vision he glared what appeared to be straight into my soul.

I groaned internally, this was going to be a mess.

“Zoey let me introduce you to Mr. Josh Balz. He is the head of security for us, and is in charge of watching over everything.” Chris explained to me.

“Why isn’t she in her uniform?” He snipped.

“That’s a question you’ll have to address with Ms. Blake. I myself am unsure of that as well.” Chris answered.

Suddenly, Chris put his hand on my back and gave me a little shove forwards, nodding towards the staircase.

“Are you kidding me, I’m not going with him alone.” I whispered angrily.

“Well you’ve made it clear that you hate me, so I figured I’d give you a break from me.” He softly laughed.

“Yeah, well I’ve got a feeling I’m going to like him even less, so...I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but please just don’t leave me alone with him.” I whispered.

“I’d be honored.” He smirked.

“I have a business to watch over Ms. Blake, if you don’t mind.” Josh huffed, obviously growing impatient.

Chris waved me in front of him, and I cautiously followed behind Josh as he led us up the grand staircase and down a hall that I started to recognize about halfway down.

Then we reached what I remembered to be Chris’s office, from when I tried to beg for my release.

As we can see that didn’t get me too far.

“I take it you remember this room?” Josh asked.

“Yes.” I stated.

“Good, and I know you’ve met Kuza as well. You do not need to know anything in detail about myself, Chris, and the other heads of the house. I will give you the shortest synopsis that you need to know. Chris here is what you could almost consider the President of this building, it was his idea, he owns this building, and nothing gets done without his permission. Kuza if you will is his second hand man, and he makes sure that everything always runs smoothly, on schedule, and he takes care of all paperwork aspects.” Josh informed me.

“Go fucking figure.” I sighed.

“If you have a problem with any paperwork, you can always take it up with the person who takes care of complaints.” Josh told me, for once sounding sincere.

That made me want to jump up and down in excitement, was there really someone here who I could talk to and get everything sorted out.

“Don’t get too excited dear, that’s me.” Chris stated.

I sighed, rolled my eyes.

Of course it was.

“Moving on, my job is to make sure everyone in this estate stays safe, no one gets in who isn’t supposed to be, and I make sure no one gets away with anything, after all there’s cameras anywhere.” Josh told me, obviously trying to scare me.

“You’re a glorified security guard.” I chuckled.

Oh my, that appeared to strike a nerve.

“Someone better fucking get her in line, before I do it myself.” He growled, now looking to Chris.

“Don’t worry, we’re working on it.” Chris assured him.

Oh great, one more thing to worry about.

What in the hell could be there reason to keep me? Wouldn’t it be easier to have someone who actually wanted to work here be here in my shoes?

I’ve already learned to just let go about me not signing the paperwork, my bringing it up multiple times already has gotten nothing done, so until I saw myself or my life in critical danger, I’d just suck it up and go for the ride.

Wherever that was taking us all.

“Who else has she already met?” Josh wondered.

“Ghost, she just hasn’t met Ricky or Ryan yet.” Chris answered.

“Alright, Ghost is the brains of the operation, he keeps everyone on task, and helps Chris with the logistic side of this place.” He finished.

I just nodded my head to show I was somewhat listening to what he was saying.

The three of us continued down the hall until we reached one more staircase at the end of the hall, there were a few other doors along the hallway that we had been in, but I wasn’t told about any of them in specificity.

We ended up going down a total of 3 flights of stairs, The first led us to the main floor, the second landed us at the level where I knew all of the other girls worked and lived, and the lowest level of the house was the one we were currently on.

It had a very different vibe to it, there was an almost darkness to it, both literally and figuratively.

“How many people have died down here?” I whispered worriedly to Chris.

“None yet, but none of them ever punched me in the face.” He whispered back, smiling at me.

It was a smile that made me cringe.

“Are you going to kill me?” I asked, raising my eyebrow at him.

“I most certainly won’t, but Ryan...I can’t say he won’t.” Chris replied.

Josh laughed.

“I don’t know, my bet’s on on Ricky.” He chuckled.

Oh great, there’s more of them. Ryan and Ricky, I had no description of them yet but I definitely was crafting an image of them in my mind.

Tall, muscular, just as tattooed as everyone else around here, and I was sensing that they were going to have even less of a sense of humor than Chris and the others did. That was saying something.

Once we got down to the bottom of the stairs there were two large frosted glass doors right across from us. To the right about 30 feet down there was a large black door, and to our right the same distance down there was a large red door.

Really, could this place get stranger?

My mind went back to focus when I heard Chris knock on the glass doors.

“Who is it?” A deep voice called out.

“Chris and Balz.” Chris stated.

“Come on in.” The same voice replied.

Josh opened up the doors and I slowly followed him and Chris into wildly magnificent office.

My eyes immediately went straight to the grand desk sitting on the left hand side of the room, where a man was sat down, going through a stack of papers. Across from him, was another man typing on a laptop, looking very intense as he worked.

While the intensity was there, neither of them fit the description I had painted myself in my mind.

“Oh goodness, you didn’t tell us you were bringing a guest.” The man with the laptop cheered, pushing himself away from the desk and jumping up.

He rushed over to us instantly.

His blue eyes instantly captured mine, even from across the room, and even more so as he was closer to me.

“Zoey Blake, I presume?” He asked me.

“Yes.” I softly said, with a nod of my head.

“Very nice to meet you. My name is Ricky, and that over there is Ryan.” He beamed.

I took a quick second to fully take both of them in visually.

Ricky had the light blue eyes which was severely contrasted with his jet black long hair. He had on a leather jacket paired with black ripped jeans, a beanie on his head, and I also noticed that height wise, he only stood about 2 to 3 inches taller than myself. As far as stature went he was in no way ‘jacked’ if you will, he seemed fit yet not scrawny.

Then there was Ryan, who seemed to completely unphased if not bored by my presence which was definitely a change from everyone else’s reaction. All I could tell about him since he was still sitting behind the desk was that he appeared a bit more muscular than Ricky, but not by any huge margarine. I got a feeling from him that he really was not to be messed with, everyone else had a sense of power around them, as did he but there was something about him that made me fear him a bit more.
“As the week goes on I will let Mr. Sitkowski and Mr. Horror explain to you what part they play in this house, it’ll be far easier for them to show you than for me to tell you.” Josh informed me.

That comment got the first emotional response from Ryan that I had seen.

He laughed to himself and let this devilish smirk cross his lips.

Now that concerned me.

“We have a lot of work to do until that time.” Ryan huffed.

“Well it was nice meeting you, Zoey. I look forward to working with you in the future.” Ricky told me, with a sincere smile.

Far different than Ryan’s.

“I’ll be back down to talk to you two later tonight.” Chris said, as I quickly exited their office.

Josh and then Chris followed me out.

“What is up his ass?” I asked, turning around to Chris.

“Ryan’s?” He wondered.

“Yeah, the guy that seemed like he was pissed off at life itself.” I clarified.

“That’s actually pretty joyful for him. You’ll know when he’s actually angry. Actually, the whole house figures it out pretty quickly.” Chris admitted.

“Oh wonderful, I can’t wait for that.” I groaned.

“I can’t either.” He snickered.

“Ok, I have a job to go and do. If you need me you know where I am.” Josh stated, as we walked back up one more level.

“Oh, and Miss. Blake, the next time we run into each other I better see a fucking uniform on you.” Josh growled, now leaving Chris and I alone once more.

“Holy shit, no wonder you couldn’t find anyone to work for you. You’re all fucking angry.” I told him.

“Get to know us better, and you’d realize were not that bad.” He said.

“Well that’s looking like the only option I’ve got.” I sighed.

“It’s a good one, I promise.” He told me, starting to walk off down the hall.

“Woah, where are you going?” I asked.

“My office, I have things that need to be done. Feel free to continue to explore the property for the rest of today. Your first day on the job starts tomorrow!” Chris giddily cheered.

“Oh, yay!” I sarcastically said.

He gave me one last quick goodbye, and left me to get to his office.

Once he was gone, I let out a big sigh.

Tomorrow was going to be very interesting.
