House Of Wolves

Lyall's POV***

I stretched and stood. Time to go out for the morning scout. I grabbed my weapon, a spear, that I had always set by the enter acne of the cave. I also had a bow and arrows that I had made and a knife that I always had at my side. I left the cave and started running my round. Hunting for the mornings food.
"Hi Atuanna." I said as my friend ran along side me. I lowered my hand to scratch behind his ear.
"Ready for the hunt?" He seemed to ask. I smiled.
"You bet." I agreed. head flicked around as I heard a twig snap. I got low. I waited as a fox moved into the clearing ahead of us. I drew out my bow and notched an arrow. I steadied my arm as Atuanna looked expectantly at me. I took a deep, silent breath and shot. The arrow struck him in the side and Atuanna ran forward to make the kill. I retrieved my arrow and added the fox to the rabbit skin sack that I had made along with my clothes. My long dark brown, almost black, hair was braided with blue jay feathers. I walked with Atuanna to check my snares. We got a total of three rabbits and a fox. Total that makes two foxes and three rabbits. I scratched Atuanna's ears again as we headed back. Atuanna's mate Luna waited for us at the cave opening with her three pups. I skinned the animals and kept their pelts. I cooked a rabbit for breakfast and let the rest of the pack have what they wanted of the other four animals. I left to scout the tree line like I did every day. Lingering in the shadows. I gathered berries that I could eat and found a stream for fresh water taking a well earned break.
