The First Punch

I took a deep breath, combing through my hair before I stood tall walking over to the table Quin was seated in. I slid into the seat across him, Quins head going up a smile immediately gracing his lips. Oh god that smile made my heart speed up. Quin pulled out one of his head phone buds, eyeing me up and down.
"Well isn't it the best looking guy in town, honoring me with his presence." Quin winked at me from across the table.
"Wow someone sure knows how to lay on that apple butter." I joked, knowing my laugh wasn't hiding how strongly I was blushing.
Before Quin could answer with a smart remark a waitress with a high bun and tattoos came asking us what we wanted. I ordered a cheeseburger, fries, and a milkshake. Quin chuckled ordering a burger, fries, pie, and a coke.
I was playing with my leather jacket nervously as he glanced to where Alex and Lian were, Quins gaze fallowing his. "I'm guessing the guys over there staring are your sister and her friends.”
I laughed, shrugging my shoulders. "Yup, they may look like squares but I promise they aren't."
Quin looked at me for a long time, the smile on his lips never fading. "Ya know I was gonna ask you to go out with me tonight but it looks like it was just meant to be."
My eyes got big and I bit down on my bottom lip."So let's say I wanted to go, where were you gonna take me?"
"Well where else do you take my flutter bum... I'll clue you in. No first date would be right unless it was to a passion pit."
My cheeks turned scarlett when Quin said that I was his flutter bum, my eyes sparkled when he mentioned a passion pit. I hadn't been to a drive in in years! "Well I guess I could make the scene." I ran my comb through my hair, trying to look cool, knowing my blush was contradicting my act.
Quin smirked, raising a brow. "Oh what a cool cat, playing all calm."
The waitress brought our food, I grabbed my milkshake first. I didn't even bother with the straw, putting the cup to my lips, taking a long sip. I let out a content sigh with a smile on my face as I put the milkshake down.
Quin let out a low chuckle, making my heart skip a beat. "Cute and messy, what more could I ask for. You got some sludge on your face." Quin leaned over the table, his thumb brushing over my upper lip slowly. His eyes were trained on my mouth before he sat back down smiling at me with a spark in his eyes.
It was odd, I wasn't used to someone giving me such a look of admiration. Lian didn't even look at me like that and I was her big brother. I think the fact that she took care of me more than I did for her took away some of that. Quin made my stomach jump and my heart skip a beat. He was like me but better. He was cool, calm, collected, and oh god was he cute.
"Ya know when I see you it's like a large charge, I just can't help myself." Quin laughed, looking down at his food. For the first time it looked like he was trying not to blush, this sweet half smile on his face.
"Well well well, look who isn't mister cool anymore." I teased, eating a fry.
"Hey there! You're cute but don't push it!" Quin and I joked as we ate, playfully tossing fries at each other. We got odd looks from the staff and customers. This was the most fun I have ever had with someone who wasn't Lian or Alex. I didn't think I could meet someone so amazing, let alone some cute greaser like me. Maybe my luck was turning.
After about 30 minutes of us just flirting and talking in 50's and about the 50's Alex and Lian came over.
"Heyyyyy Kel, sorry to bother but we are going to head out. You wanna come with or stay here with.. Quin." Alex said trying to contain her smile, you could tell she was so happy for me. I looked to Quin with a questioning look. And he nodded.
"Uh yeah sure.. I'll stay here with Quin. Thanks for telling me!" I said smiling shyly.
"Okie dokie Kel. If you need anything just text us!" They both came closer to me and both kissed the top of my head. I felt uncomfortable but I just laughed as if to brush it off.
"Okie dokie bye guys." They laughed and waved. They went back to their table and everyone got up. They were all looking at us and I started to blush.
"You're so cute. You have so many people that care about you. It's so cute!" He said as I went to go grab my comb. As I was about to bring it to my hair he reached over the table and put his hands on mine bringing them down to the table. "You look fine. No need to be nervous. I love you for you."
Did he just say love... What... I think I might love him too.
