Leaving the cave, going into the unknown

Chapter 67

It was the day of the wedding and in true bridal fashion Kate was freaking out, and I’m not talking regular stress I’m talking close to breaking down stress. She was currently pacing in the dressing room while I stood there in my dress trying to calm her down. I was not succeeding.

“What if we get divorced? What if he’s not at the end of the isle when I get there? Is this a mistake? What do you think?” She rambled than turned to face me. I took her hand and lead her to the couch to sit down.

“I think you love Tom and Tom loves you. I’ve known you both for a very long time and I have never seen either of you as happy as you are when you’re with each other. So you’re going to get up, put that dress on and go get your man!” Kate smiled and laughed then hugged me.

“See this is why you’re my maid of honor.” She whispered. The other brides maids were somewhere around but they made them selves scarce when Kate started to freak out.

As we broke off the hug there was a knock at the door that I got up to answer. When I opened it the other side reveled a very dashing Alan and an adorable dressed Melody. Alan was in a suit while Dee was in a purple puffy dress that she seemed to love because she was playing with the ends and smiling.

“I know you guys are getting ready but she was getting fussy and mumbling mama so I thought it would be best to come and see you.” I laughed because it was just like her.

“Well you know she always wants to be the center of attention, she gets that from you.” Alan gasped and I gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before I took my daughter from him.

“I can’t wait to be like you guys.” Kate said from behind us.

“You both look so happy and you have a little family of your own.” She gave us a group hug.

“Okay now you need to get out cause she needs to put her dress on.” I handed Alan back Dee and shooed them out of the room. When I closed the door the both of them were giving me adorable pouts.

I got Kate all zipped up and it was finally time to get the wedding started.

The ceremony went perfect, well almost perfect. As I suspected Dee did go off on her own little mission of discovery while walking down the isle, until she spotted me than she ‘ran’ right to the end. I think she stole the show and after the ceremony Kate agreed but said she wouldn’t have had it any other way.

After the ceremony had finished we had to take photos and I swear Dee loves getting her photo taken as much as Alan. She was all smiles and giggles and didn’t fuss a bit she also loved the dress. She would twirl than fall and roll around in it playing with the ends that were fluffy. We got some videos and posted them to Instagram.

‘My cute little flower girl, luckiest mom in the world!’

I was flooded with comments about how cute she looked, of coarse the occasional hate came in but you can never win them all. Some of the other fans would flood the hated comment saying that they shouldn’t be saying such things about a baby. I had to make Alan stop looking at the comment because they made him so upset; he listened to me eventually.

We were now at the reception and everyone was dancing and having a good time. Dee and I were sat at a table and she was eating some food I had packed her, I think she wanted to dance like everyone else but I wasn’t having it until she ate. Alan was hanging with Austin at the bar, they both looked handsome in their suites. Alan saw me looking at him, said goodbye to Austin and headed over towards me.

“Well don’t my girls look beautiful.” He said while giving Dee a little kiss on the head. I put her food away giving up with how much I wanted her to eat and just accepted the amount she did.

“Well I think this little one is ready to dance.” I stood her up and she started to move around immediately. She saw Austin and ran right too him, he danced with her and it was by far the cutest thing I had seen in a while.

“I guess this means I get to dance with my beautiful fiancé now.” Alan said while he put out his hand towards me inviting me to the dance floor. I accepted as a slow song came on overhead, he took me in his arms as we started to sway. I knew that this wasn’t my wedding but for a moment I imagined it was and that this was our first dance together. I’m a little afraid to get married but moments like this that are so perfect equal everything out and put the fears to the back of my mind. I pulled back from my resting place on his shoulder to look into his eyes and got lost in what was happening. I was taken out of the moment by a little tug on my dress; I looked down to see Dee making grabby hands for me to pick her up. I complied with her request and we made a baby sandwich while we continued to dance.

“Can you believe where we are in our lives right now? I never would have thought that at this time in my life I would be where I am or as happy as I am now. I have you to thank for that Mr.” I kissed him on the nose as we continued to dance.

“And I you my lady.”
