Leaving the cave, going into the unknown

Chapter 59

I tried really hard to ignore that text, for the next 2 days I pretended that it didn’t happen but I couldn’t bring myself to delete it. I couldn’t look up the number because it was unknown but I could defiantly think of a couple of people it would be. I also didn’t tell Alan, he was having too much fun on tour and we were finally happy. I had made the decision to not do anything unless I received another message it was better that way. It could have been many things, a wrong number or just a prank so I wasn’t going to stress myself out if I didn’t need too.

Dee was living up the bus life, she would crawl around like she owned the place. Being the cute little baby that she was everyone gave into her every whim except for me because I seemed to be the only voice of reason. I was getting ready in the back of the bus before walking back up to the front. What I saw in front of me was both adorable and mischievous on her part. The boys were huddled around her holding small candies getting her to do tricks such as clapping her hands or dancing around a bit.

“She’s not a dog you know.” I said while leaning against the doorframe.

“Ya but she’s so cute when she does it.” Alan said while he gave her another piece of candy. Dee looked at me with a little smirk to which I just laughed at.

“She’s got you wrapped right around your figure, good luck for when she get older cause she’s going to be daddy’s little girl.” I came over to pick her up and sit down on the couch.

“Ah ha you see that was the plan the whole time.” Alan quipped back.

Everyone on the bus started to laugh until I heard my phone go off and my stomach drop, the laughter died down as a slowly got up to check my phone. Upon looking at the screen I saw it was from another Unknown number, which made me want to break down in tears even before reading it.

Ignoring it won’t make me leave, some people just weren’t meant to have happily ever after’s. – Unknown

I dropped the phone on the ground and walked away from it like it was on fire.

“Alex? Is everything okay? Why did you drop your phone?” Alan said coming up behind me and whipping the tears from my eyes, I hadn’t even realized I was crying.

“Who sent you this text?” I looked over to see Austin had my phone in his hands reading the last two messages I had received from Unknown.

“I don’t know but I got one the other day, I thought it was just a prank or something so I tried to ignore it.” I whispered into Alan shoulder, he had now brought me into a warm embrace. Tino took Melody into the back lounge where I could now hear the faint hum of Toy Story. Austin and Alan sat on either side of me while we sat in silence for a bit, letting the situation sink in and our minds wonder on what to do.

“Well whoever it is you know well enough for them to have your number, because you don’t give it out very often. Do you think it could be Jason?” Alan asked. I thought about it for a bit, there was a very big chance it was him.

“It probably is which means it’s harmless harassment. Let’s just pretend that it doesn’t matter anymore okay? I’ll take out my sin card and tell our close friends that if they need us to call you so that he can’t bug me anymore.” I looked at each of them before taking apart my phone. I took out the tiny sin card and put it in a plastic baggy before hiding it in a drawer.

“Okay but if anyone gets to you I’m talking a note or a message in a bottle, you tell us straight away this time. No more keeping stuff to yourself, we’re a family now.” I nodded and gave both of the boys a hug.

The next day the weight of the situation fell off of my shoulders now that everyone knew what had happened. Dee was clueless as usual and it made me miss being a baby and having no responsibilities. Her new favorite thing to do was trying to do ‘autographs’, she had been to a meet and greet and saw Alan signing posters and such. She would scribble on paper then look up at Alan before doing it again giggling each time, already a little rock star in training.

We were all sat on the stage while the techs messed around with gear when she started to cry. I looked around for her blanket realizing that we left it on the bus so I ran in to grab it. I was looking through bags when I heard a ringing coming from the front lounge. All the guys took their phones with them so I carefully made my way to the front to see my phone sitting on the table with a message on the screen. I opened the drawer that had the sin card in it only to find it missing, probably in my phone that was now receiving a message. I slowly looked at the screen to read the text.

Just because you put your problems in a drawer, doesn’t make them go away. – Unknown

I ran out of the bus phone in hand headed toward the venue; he some how got in the bus and I was no longer safe by myself. I made it down the stairs and onto the ground before I felt someone swing me around forcing me to hit the side of the bus then the ground. The last thing I saw before passing out was a set of feet headed towards me.
