Leaving the cave, going into the unknown

Finally the remaining time had ended and the boys were on their way home, I had never been so happy for a tour to end. The last 2 weeks had been boring and lonesome; everyone went to work or was busy so I was mostly by myself. I really wanted to pick Alan up at the airport but if he found out that I went by myself he would be really pissed. Luckily they were coming home on a Saturday so Val had the day off and said she’d drive us, I could take a wheel chair around the airport so I wouldn’t have to walk. Their flight landed at 10am so Val and I woke up at 7:30 wanting to leave an hour before because with our luck there would be crazy amounts of traffic. I had a nice long shower, I’m sure I smelled lovey not having showered for 2 days and put my hair up in a bun, no makeup. I went down the stairs slowly and made my breakfast, sitting down at the table I rubbed my stomach. Dee was kicking a lot this morning like she knew her Dad was coming home.

“I know little one, were going to get him soon just chill out while I eat my breakfast then you can dance around.” I said to my stomach.

“You look crazy from here you know? I can’t see your stomach so it looks like your talking to yourself.” Val said as she started making coffee, she must have come in when I was looking down.

“Ya well I only have just under 2 months until I would look crazy talking to my stomach and I’m gonna eat it up while I can.” I joked back at her, since her moving in here we have built up quite the sarcastic repertoire.

“Not to sound rude or anything but is all your stuff packed? I’m sure as much as I love having you here Austin is gonna want you back.”

“Yup everything’s all ready, I have to say I’m really gonna miss living with you Alex. I’ve never really had a girl friend before and it was nice for once to not be the only girl in the group.” I looked at her puzzling.

“What about the other girlfriends? Do you not get along with them?” I asked, I got along with them we just weren’t as close as Val and I were.

“I do but at the same time not really, I’m not quite sure why but anyway I’m just happy I got to stay with you even under the circumstances.” She smiled at me before coming over to hug me.

“Me to Val. Okay now that the mushy stuff is all over we should go collect our men.” I said in the most feminine voice I could muster before breaking out into laughter. We got in the car and started our drive to the airport, when we arrived Val parked the car before going in to grab a wheel chair then collecting me. She wheeled me into the airport running around in circles, I’m sure we weren’t the favorite people in the airport right now but we were sure having a blast. Eventually we settled down and found the gate we would be meeting them at. We sat for 10 minutes before people started to come out from the gate. Austin was first he saw Val and I and ran to her, she jumped in his arms it was quite the cute hello. Alan was next and was very shocked to see me there, I didn’t tell him I was going to be there and I guess he thought Val wasn’t going to be there either.

“Alex you’re here! I missed you.” I stood up slowly, Alan had a look on his face like this was not ok but I hushed him with a kiss and a long hug.

“No fighting or nagging just hold me.” I scolded him. I heard him chuckle into my hair before he wrapped his arms around me and petted my hair for a few minutes. He pulled away and got on his hands and knees.

“Hey little one I’m home, I miss talking to you while your mommy sleeps, we had some good chats right?” Austin, Val and I are all laughing pretty hard at that last comment. In my mind I could see Alan sitting in the rocking chair holding Dee talking to her about all the places he’s seen in the world and all the places he’d take her too.

He stood up and helped me back into the wheel chair; the other guys came out and were picked up by their girlfriends. Alan wheeled me out of the airport and into the front seat of the car, the boys got in the back and we were off toward home.

“So I’m assuming you girls were good and didn’t talk about us too much.” Austin said from the back. Val and I just looked at each other with a sly grin and started laughing; we spent many nights gossiping about our guys, some nights getting a little too explicit.

“Why are you laughing that question wasn’t supposed to be funny!” Austin exclaimed.

“Don’t worry about it, nothing that you probably haven’t gossiped to each other.” I shot back turning to give them both a squinted look, they shut up and slumped into their seats.

Val dropped us off and got out of the car to give me a long hug goodbye.

“You guys are going to see each other later! You had her for almost 2 months, it’s time to give her back.” Austin pouted making grabby hands for Val she shot him a look.

“Oh hush, bro’s before ho’s” She chuckled at my comment and walked back over to Austin and they were off.

“Looks like it’s just the three of us now. Come on mama into the house we go don’t want you on your feet for too long.” I nodded and walked into the house leading him upstairs and to the baby’s room.

“Wow the paintings look amazing Alex she’s going to love them, now come on bed and movies. You need to rest, I wanted it to be a surprise but I’m sure that Val’s already told you were going over to Austin’s tonight.” He smirked, helping me into bed.

“Val? Not tell a secret? What are the chances?” We laughed. I got settled into bed taking my jeans off and my top leaving me in just my underwear. Alan followed my lead by stripping down, I’ve missed walking around in my underwear but with Val being here I wasn’t comfortable doing that.

“You have no clue how bad I want to jump your bones right now.” Alan exhaled a shaky breath when he took the time to look at me from head to toe.

“Jump my bones? Great expression babe, and trust me nothing would make me happier but sadly we must wait another couple of months and then wait a little more.” He took me in his arms and rubbed my stomach, I’ve missed these little moments. Late at night I would rub my tummy imagining it was his hands on me, but now that was a reality.

“One more tour and then I’ll be with my girls for 8 months.” I smiled and closed my eyes, dozing off in his arms.
