Restoring Force

Wonderless

-Kat's P.O.V-

I stretched out my sore body, and let out moan to match a porn stars. Exhaustion ate at my tired bones, and a spot behind my temples throbbed over and over, reminding me that I must've had a fun night. I just couldn't remember it. It'll come back to me, I thought. It usually does. I stretched each of my limbs fully, and accidentally smacked someone in the nose.

"Ouch!" They said, muffled somewhere in the mass of hotel pillows.

Who the hell was in my bed? Did I sleep with someone last night? I jumped up and covered my chest, only to find that I was fully clothed. What the-

There was another grumble and the figure next to me rolled over and faced the other way. I carefully peered down to see who it was. Austin?!

"WHAT THE BLOODY HELL ARE YOU DOING IN MY BED?!" I shouted , throwing a hand instantly to my temple to sooth the headache.

He startled awake and threw a hand in front of his face like I was going to hit him. "You.. asked me to stay last night!" He defended, looking around the room trying to figure out where he was. He gazed overtop of his hand at me, and slowly put it back down to his side. I must admit, the raspy-ness of his voice was quite nice.

Remmy was now sitting straight up in the other bed trying to determine what was happening too. "It's true." She told me raising her brows. " You did ask him to stay."

I threw back the comforter completely and placed my feet on the cold floor. "Whatever." I muttered, grabbing a few things from my bag and going into the bathroom for a well deserved shower.

I locked the door behind me and turned the tap to warm, stepping in when the water was at the right temperature. It was soothing, and my head didn't feel like it was going to explode anymore.

I shouldn't have yelled at him. Even if I was drunk when I told him to stay, there had to of been a reason. I must have wanted him there.

I combed conditioner through my hair and washed the rest of my body. There were a few times I could hear their voices on the other side of the door, but I couldn't quite make out what they were saying.

"-stay because-- badly hungover-" One voice scolded.

"-hates me-" The other. The door to the room finally just closed, and I assumed they both left.

I dried my hair and piled it on top of my head with a towel, then pulled on leggings and bra, before realizing I didn't grab a shirt.

"Shit." I groaned.

Peeking my head out a crack in the bathroom door. I couldn't see anything or hear anyone, so I scampered over to my unzipped bag on the floor, and pulled a black one out of the pile.

A small laugh sounded from behind me. I slowly turned, covering my front with the clothing.

"Forget something?" Austin asked, laughing again. He was sitting on the edge of the bed scrolling through my phone. My phone.

"Screw you." I mumbled, uncovering myself and putting the shirt on in front of him. It must've worked as a good tease because he glued his eyes to me and nearly dropped the phone.

Austin tried clearing his throat, but it didn't work so he cleared it again. "I uh.. Oh." He stuttered.

I grinned at his awkwardness and walked over to him, getting on top and straddling his lap. He gawked at me a moment before slowly putting his hands on my hips. I leaned closer almost touching his nose. I could smell his cologne.

"Don't touch my stuff." I whispered in his ear, before snatching the phone out of his hands and getting off, retreating back to the bathroom to finish getting ready.

He sat there a moment dazed and left his hands in the air where I'd slipped out of them.
"Oh.. Yeah.. Okay... I won't. Unless it gets me more of whatever that just was."

I poked my head out of the bathroom and glared at him.

He shrugged. "It's true."

I finished applying my makeup and blow dried my hair.

"Why are you here anyway?" I called from the bathroom sink.

"Your friend told me I should stay and make sure you don't kill yourself on Tylenol."

I threw back two as he said that, the pressure in my head threatening to pop.

"How are you feeling anyways?"he questioned. "Badly hungover?"

"I'm okay. I just want to throw up and lay down for a year, but other than that, I'm fine."

He chuckled. "That's a bummer."

"You're telling me." I muttered, gulping down another glass of water.

I heard the bed shift as he stood up. "You up for a taxi ride?"

I laughed at him smoothing the wrinkles in my shirt out. "You're kidding."

"Nope, grab your shoes." I gawked at him.

"I want to curl up and die, and you want to go for a joy ride?" I asked bewildered, standing where I was.

"Absolutely, what's the fun in sitting around?" He strode to the door, blew me a fake kiss and walked out.

I shook my head, trying to decide what to do. I really didn't want to be alone in case I started feeling really sick. Usually if that happens, Its bad, I get pretty low. And when I mean pretty low I mean 'I'm going to cry and hate everything about myself until I want to jump out of the window.' But I don't really want to go out in the city either.

"Coming?" He popped his head back into the room for a minute.

I groaned loudly, grabbing the bottle of Tylenol off the counter and my shoes.

He grinned from ear to ear and slipped back into the hall to wait for me.

"Why are you doing this to me?" I asked him theatrically, dragging a hand down the side of my face.

"It's just so much fun." He laughed again. More like giggled, and threw a hand over his mouth. It was kinda cute actually.

Wait. What? What did I just think. No it wasn't. It wasn't cute. Yes it was. Oh my god.

-Austin's P.O.V-

We meandered down the hall to the elevator slowly so Kat wouldn't get sick.

"You good?" I asked as she wobbled around.

"Yes." She mumbled. "I'm fine."

She stumbled forward a bit and rested a hand on the wall to steady herself. I grabbed her upper arm to keep her from falling over completely.

"Here," I said gently pulling her closer to me. "Lean on me for balance."

She looked exhausted and I felt bad for dragging her along.

Kat watched me cautiously before complying, seemingly too tired to care.

We walked together into the elevator and out onto the street.

I waved down a taxi for us, feeling a little ridiculous by how tall I was compared to her.

When the taxi pulled up, I got in first and Kat followed, her eyes closing almost immediately and her head falling back on my shoulder.

"Where to?" The cabbie asked, a bored expression pasted on his face.

I gave him directions to Littleton where the park was located, and leaned my head against the back rest. I wanted to just curl up and sleep for an eternity, but I needed to go pick up the Subaru since it wasn't even mine to begin with.

Jared is going to be pissed with me. I thought. Jared being our tour manager and all. Since I was the frontman, they kind of needed me for the band, and right now I was sort of missing in their eyes.

I sighed. My phone was in the console of the car receiving angry text message and phone call after angry text message and phone call. I was trying to mentally prepare myself for the world of pain my band was going to bring upon me for disappearing.

I did tell them I was going out, but I don't think it'd really matter to them.

We pulled to an abrupt stop.

"$23.05." He yawned and looked in the back mirror expectantly, raising an eyebrow.

I dug my wallet out of my jean pocket and gave him the money.

We sat there a moment while I whispered her name lightly, trying to wake her up gently. She stirred slightly, and groaned.

"We're here." Peeling one tired eye open, she checked out the window to make sure I was right.

"I'm going to start charging you extra if you don't get out soon!" The cabbie yelled throwing his hands in the air, then thumping them back down on the wheel.

I ducked underneath the door frame as I got out, gripping Kat's forearm so she could join me in the brisk morning air.

As soon as the door shut, the taxi revved away, quickly turning onto the freeway.

"You feeling okay?" I questioned her.

"Mhm." She replied absently, rubbing her eyes with the back of her hand. "Just peachy."

Carefully sliding a reassuring arm onto her shoulders, I led the two of us across the lot to the car.
I unlocked the doors with a click of my keys and guided her to the passenger side, propping it open and helping her climb inside. The first thing I heard when I opened her door, was the incessant buzzing of my phone.

I shut it and made my way to the drivers side.

It kept ringing as I buckled up my seatbelt.

"You gonna get that?" She inquired, using to fingers to hold her head up. A very annoyed look on her face.

I looked at the phone. Then at her.

"Naw." I said lightly. "It's just work."

She rolled her eyes at me.

-Kat's P.O.V-

We traveled down a highway to a place Austin liked to called 'Bus Alley.' I wasn't exactly sure what it was, but a pretty good guess would be that his tour bus was parked there. Along with a dozen others.

"Do you wanna maybe go get some coffee? Wake up a bit?" Damn, this boy had a knack for asking me out.

I shrugged at his suggestion. "Do I have a choice?"

He stopped at a light and turned to look at me, a smile spreading across his face. "Not unless your planning on jumping out of a moving vehicle."

I suddenly reached for the handle as we began to drive.

"No! Jesus christ, take that as a joke! What are you doing!?" He yelped, looking a little sick.

I let go of the handle, breaking into a fit of laugher.

"I'm kidding! I'm not that psychotic!" I paused for a second. "Actually yes I am. But I wouldn't do that!" I told him giggling.

He regained the color in his face. "Okay. Okay good. I guess I just don't know your sense of humor well enough."

"I guess not. You might have to stick around to see what it's like." I turned to watch all the multicolored cars drive past us. I could feel him giving me a funny look, but I didn't want to turn.

Why'd I just say that? I didn't want him to stick around. Yes I did. No I didn't. Yes I did. I just didn't want him to know that I did.

A few minutes of awkward silence later we pulled into a small coffee shop/restaurant near the hotel.

"You wanna go in and order? I have to make a few phone calls." He said pulling out his phone and beginning to dial a number.

I undid my seatbelt and climbed out, being careful not to fall asleep as I walked inside. I was tired as shit.

I chose a small booth in the back of the room.

"Can I get you anything?" A nice blonde asked.

She had brown eyes, a pretty smile, and legs that never ended. Gorgeous in fact.

"A black coffees fine, thank you." I replied giving her my best 'I hate people, but I'm really trying to be friendly' smile.

I probably looked similar to a fish when I did it because it felt so unnatural. It must've looked that unnatural too, since she squinted at me trying to figure out what I was doing with my face.

She finally nodded and left, looking back over her shoulder once at me before retreating to the kitchen. I heard the people behind us chatting about something and it was annoying me a lot.

"Sorry." Came another voice. "Just had to let them know I was still alive." I tilted my head back as Austin came around the table and sat across from me. The cushions making a whoosh sound when he sat. "What'd you get?"

"Coffee."

"Hm. I hope she comes back soon so I can get some too." He said, relaxing into the fake leather of the booth.

"You know, this is the first time we've ever hung out sober." I pointed out.

He thought for a moment. "No that one time--" He trailed off. "We were both sober when-- I ran into you in the hall! That's gotta count."

"Whatever you say."

I heard a high giggle, followed by a deeper chuckle.

"They're so fucking obnoxious." I whispered, putting my elbows on the table and resting my head in my hands.

"It's fine, they'll probably be leaving soon anyways."

They laughed again, but this time louder.

Thats it. I thought. I whipped around.

"Hey do you mind?! There's other--" I stopped abruptly. "Remmy?"

She looked startled, terrified and guilty at the same time.

"Why are you--" I stopped again when I saw the person sitting next to her. "Alan?"

When I said that, Austin craned his neck around me to see as well.

"Alan?" He mimicked, equally shocked.

"Hey..." He said, giving a tight wave of his hand. Him and Remmy made eye contact before both looking at us.

"Remmy... What are you guys doing here?" I asked, giving her a hard look.

"I-I told you I met someone in the coffee shop yesterday." She tugged at the hem of her shirt uncomfortably.

"Well you didn't tell me it was this asshole!" I said, raising my voice at them.

"Hey now!" Alan exclaimed. "I never did anything to you!" I glowered at him.

Austin put a hand lightly on my arm trying to calm me down.

"Don't." I told him through gritted teeth. He pulled away slowly.

Remmy made eye contact with Alan again. "I'm sorry, okay? I know you and him had a thing, but we really hit it off!" She said looking at me again. Her eyes filled with determination.

"Wait. Alan why are you here? When'd you leave the bus yesterday?" Austin directed his question at Alan.

They held a steady gaze. "I needed some time to myself. So I left after you. Drove around for a while to clear my head and ended up here. Drinking coffee.. Alone. Until she came along." He smiled.

"Fine, it doesn't matter." I cut in, using a hand to massage my temple. "But that doesn't change the fact that you're loud as hell, and I have a headache." I squinted at them before continuing. "Remmy, this is incredibly stupid on your part, and I have a pretty good feeling he's going to break your heart into tiny, Remmy-sized pieces. So do whatever you have to do, but just remember that I don't approve."

"Okay, well thank you for your concern." She said, her eyes lighting up with a spark of hope. I was not looking forward to nursing that spark back to life when Alan crushed it.

I slumped back into my seat, feeling drained. Austin joining me.

"You wanna leave?"

I nodded. I was tired, and annoyed, and tired, and really annoyed at everything, and so goddamn tired.

He stood up and I scooted out to join him.

"See ya later Rem." I called. She hummed goodbye in response, already consumed with something Alan was saying.

I hopped into the car, and sat there for a moment in quiet bliss before Austin got in too.

"Where are you taking me now?"

"Home." He answered.

"Okay, well wake me up when we get there." And with that I put my head against the window and fell asleep.

-

"Hey? You awake?" A hand touched my shoulder. Good god this guy liked putting his hands on me.

I grumbled in response. "No."

He chuckled and got out. I finally got enough energy to do the same. Fully intending on following him up to my room. But we weren't at the hotel. We were right next to a row of neatly parked tour buses.

I grumbled again. When we got to the door, he held it open for me.

"After you m'lady." He gestured inside.

I rolled my eyes at him once again and pulled myself up the steps. No one was in the front. They must be in the back. I thought.

"Hello?" Austin called out from behind me. "Anyone here?" As he said that, he reached down and grabbed a Coke from a small cooler inside the arm of the couch. "Want one?"

I watched as the pop fizzed out of the top. "You have water?"

"Mhm." He threw me a plastic bottle. "We're not cave men."

I cracked the top and took a long sip while tagging along behind him to the back room.

He peeked in. "No ones here.." He trailed off, walking over to the couch and sitting down, putting both arms across the back. I dogged behind him into the room and shut the door.

At least it didn't smell like over-powering alcohol. I thought, sitting on the other couch in the room.

"So what should we do?" I fiddled with the cap of my water.

"Well, I can certainly think of a few things." He muttered mostly to himself. I ignored his comment as he turned the game console on and put in a one person shooter. We chatted aimlessly for a while, as he flicked buttons and killed people, but eventually he focused more on the game and our conversation died.

I curled up on the couch and finally decided to get some actual sleep.

-Austin's P.O.V-

I didn't know why she was so tired today but I let her sleep for an hour or so before scooping her up again and making my way to the bunks.

She stirred slightly when I set her down in my bed. I tried to stand up to leave, but her small hands were tangled in the back of my shirt.

"No." She said, mostly still asleep. "I'm cold and you're warm. Don't you dare walk away."

I sat on the edge of the bed awkwardly, not knowing what to do. Should I stay or should I go now? The popular song popped into my mind.

Reaching around, I tried to untangle her hands from my tank top, without hurting her. She yanked me down closer, taking me by surprise. We were extremely close, and I caught a hint of the same incense and hotel soap I smelled on her the night before.

Kat's blue eyes fluttered open. I heard the sharp intake of breath as she tried to process why I was so close to her. Then I felt her hands go slack.

"I-I'm sorry. I didn't--"

I cut her off. "It's alright."

She looked into my eyes for, as she pointed out, the first sober time since we've met. I could feel the prickles of nervousness and excitement swirling around inside of me. I felt a rush of dizzying lust.

She narrowed her eyes at me. "Do it Carlile." Gripping my shirt again, she pulled me into the bunk with her.

I climbed on top, putting my legs between hers and my arms resting at the elbow above her head. We locked gazes for a few moments before I couldn't take it anymore.

Her lips were full, and pink. Hovering over her, I parted my mouth and leaned down hungrily, moving our lips together in sync. I felt an electric shock as she knotted her fingers in my hair, making me crave her taste more.

-Kat's P.O.V-

His lips dropped onto mine almost instantly. It was exhilarating, everything I ever wanted when I didn't even know I wanted it. I ran my fingers through his hair, over and over, pulling lightly, knowing that it would drive him crazy. Our bodies moved together and I felt him sit up slightly, grabbing my hands and pinning them down to the bed. Our lips never breaking contact. He sucked my bottom lip, until I was racing with desire and pulled back hanging on gently with his teeth. He lightly kissed my jaw bone, and then down along my neck, sucking at the sensitive parts of my skin. My breathing went ragged, and I was helpless. I was his.

He flipped us over so I was on top, my legs on either side of his torso. I roughly put my hands on his chest and moved them up slowly to his shoulders, and under his shirt. Exploring the muscles in his arms. He reacted by adding more pressure to the kiss. Putting a hand in my hair, forcing me closer. His other hand gripped my hip, toying with the hem of my shirt. Nothing else seemed to matter except getting our fix. He was like my drug, and this time I didn't at all mind that he wanted to put his hands all over me.

"Austin! What the actual fuck! I've told you a million times not to leave the cooler door open..." The voice trailed off as they came down the hall.

I jumped off of him quickly and smacked my head on the top bunk.

Rubbing furiously at the new bump, I peered out to see who it was.

"I uh.. I'm sorry for interrupting." Phil said. "Everyone's back though so.. You know.. You might want to wrap it up."

Austin chuckled and ripped the curtain shut reaching for my absent mouth once more. I gawked at him before ripping the curtain back open and crawling out. Smoothing my hair out.

"Hey.." I said, giving Phil a tight wave much like Alan had given us earlier.

He rolled his eyes at the two of us. "Hello."

He turned to leave and I went with him.

"Wait!" Austin called finally getting out of bed. "Where are you going?"

"Home." I said, going out into the sunny afternoon. I greeted Aaron and Tino as they passed, both giving me friendly smiles.

Austin emerged out of the bus a moment later yanking the waistband of a pair of sweat pants up. "Well let me give you a ride." He called, hopping on one leg trying to straighten his pants out.

I yawned. My headache was back. "Alright."

The sweat pants did a decent job at covering the bulge in his pants, but they didn't quite cover it fully. Hah. I thought smirking at the ground. Gotcha.

-

We drove silently to the Best Western. Neither of us knowing what to say after what had just happened.

He parked close to the entrance and followed me up to my room.

"Thank you for giving me a ride." I told him opening the door and turning so I was facing him. Slowly peddling back into the room.

"No problem." He gazed into my eyes steadily, then down at my lips. I licked them wickedly and smiled.

"See you later." I told him quietly, shutting the door completely, and leaving him standing in the hall, staring at the spot where my lips had been.

He had trouble replying at first, but cleared his throat. "See you then." He told me through the door. I heard his retreating footsteps and leaned back, sliding down the wall.

That was a little too much excitement for one day.
