Love to Hate
Forgetting and Flying
We went out for lunch and came back at around 5. About 10 minutes after we got back, there came a knock on the door.
"Who's that?" I asked Crissy, thinking that maybe she had an idea who was knocking.
She shrugged her shoulders, got up and walked to the door.
"James!" she yelled as she opened the door.
"Hello again, ma'am." I heard a man's voice.
"Are you driving us to the airport?" Crissy asked the mystery man.
"Mia, come over here." Crissy yelled over her shoulder in my direction.
I walked over to the door and went to go stand next to her. I was greeted by a tall old man with graying hair.
"Hello, ma'am." he said, a warm smile.
"Hi." I greeted him with a shy smile.
"This is James, he is driving us to the airport. He's Austin's go-to driver." Crissy explained.
"Nice to meet you, James." I smiled and he smiled back.
"Nice to meet you too, ma'am. If you could tell me where your luggage is, I will load it into my car and we can be off."
"Well we only found out we were going to be flying out after we packed our bags in my car to go on our vacation."
"Well I'll just unload them from your car and into mine."
We watched him unload and load our bags and walk back to us.
"If you're ready, we can get going." he smiled.
We grabbed our last minute things like our phones, chargers, laptops, handbags, etc. and got into the car. James climbed in and we took off. About 15 minutes later, Crissy suddenly remembered something.
"Shit! Fuck!" she cursed as she rummaged through her handbag. "James, you have to turn around, I forgot something."
"Sure thing, ma'am."
"What did you forget?" I asked as James turned around and drove back to the house.
"I can't tell you just yet, I have to see Austin first." she said and turned her gaze back to the road.
When we got back to the house, Crissy jumped out of the car and ran up to the door. She unlocked it and ran inside. A few minutes later, she ran back out again and slammed the door shut behind her. She climbed back into the car clutching a small black box against her chest.
"What is it?" I asked and reached over to take the box.
"It's nothing, don't worry." she said and hid the box next to her.
What could be inside that's so important that we had to turn around to go get it?
We arrived at the airport and James took our bags inside while we went to go get our tickets at the ticket counter.
"How can I help?" the clerk behind the counter asked.
"We're here to pick up tickets that were purchased on behalf of us by a Mr. Carlile earlier today." Crissy spoke up.
"Ah, yes, here you are. Your flight is boarding now."
"Thank you." we both said in unison and turned around and walked to the terminal where James was waiting with our bags.
"Have a safe flight." James smiled at us as he gave us our bags.
"Thank you, James." Crissy said and I smiled at him.
We boarded the plane, put our luggage in the overhead compartments and sat down. We got all the flight safety speeches and we were off. Crissy popped in her earphones and listened to music on her iPod and fell asleep soon after. I decided to get some sleep too. When I woke up again, Crissy was awake and eating some peanuts.
"We're landing in a few minutes." she said with a smile.
"Wow, that was fast." I said as I got up to go to the bathroom.
When I got back, I saw Crissy looking into her little black box and tried to see what was inside over her shoulder, but she closed it before I could see anything. The pilot came on over the speakers and told us to buckle up. We landed soon after and got off the plane as soon as we got our luggage from the overhead compartments.
As soon as we got off the plane, Crissy stopped dead.
"What's wrong with you? You're shaking like a leaf!" I said, concern clear in my voice.
"I'm just really nervous...I mean excited to see Austin again." she lied and walked on to where Austin was supposed to get us.
Sorry for taking so fucking long to update, I lost the my draft for the story and didn't get time to post seeing as I'm busy with exams. But there you go, I'll try and update more regularly from now on.
What's in the box? Why's Crissy nervous to see Austin? What will happen next? Tune in for the next chapter of Love to Hate to find out!
I'm sorry, that was very lame...but please do read the next chapter. xx
