For What It's Worth..

-Motionless In White-

I loved fall, or maybe it was that it was October, I’m not sure. But I decided to leave Baby at home today, so I could walk to work. Just too enjoy the crisp and cool smell of autumn. But now I was heading to the mall to meet Ricky and Devin. I looked at my phone again.

Ricky: Come and meet me and Ghost at the mall. :D been awhile since we hung out! ;)

I stared at the message. I had a funny feeling the text was actually from Ghost. Ever since the guys came to town, so they can work on their new album. I've maybe over analyzed the way some of them text. I was walking down a trail that supposedly led out near the mall. I gazed around me, the colors of fall were making themselves noticed. Brilliant reds, vibrant yellows and oranges, even the brown seemed wonderful. I looked down my phone again, and I thought I would take some pictures. I shuffled through my phone for my camera app. Instead I found myself looking through my pictures. I stopped at the one Ricky sent me awhile back. It was the one he took of Chris and me when Chris was so drunk that he made me his own personal teddy bear.

I could feel a tug of a smile on my lips. I would really miss these guys when I would eventually leave. Maybe the way I feel about Chris is the reason I wanted to leave. Maybe my imagination was in overdrive thinking that I would be loved in return, but all it did was go into a giant loop, because I was afraid of getting hurt again.

I had stopped walking. My mind going in an infinite circle about the possibilities as to why I wanted to leave and why I didn't want to leave. I sighed, frustrated. Oh well. I zipped up my black long coat, thrilled that the wind picked up and it bellowed behind me. I was glad I wore it on this chilly day. I continued my way to the mall, picking up my pace slightly, noticing I was wasting time.

Thats when I noticed the extra foot steps behind me. I wasn't overly surprised, since it was a public trail after all. Curiosity getting the better of me, I turned my head around slightly. I saw a girl whom I assumed might have been goth by her attire was walking behind me, she was looking down at her Ipod. I turned back around, and continued on my way. The girl was apparently in a hurry, because she charged right by me.

I heard my phone ring. I answered it. “Hey, where are you?” Ricky voice came over the phone. “I’m on the trail. I think I’m almost there.”

“Hey, is that Jenny? Let me talk!” I heard Ghost in the background. “Dude, hold on.” I heard a slight shuffle of the phone being grabbed. “Jen, Jen, hey Jen!” Devin had the phone now apparently.

“Hey Devin, what's up?”

“Are you coming or not?”

“Uh, yes I’m walking the trail that supposedly leads to the mall.” I looked over to my right and saw the parking lot. I saw two men dressed in black. I could only assume that was them. “I think I see you.” One of the figures moved and turned, and started waving their arm frantically. “I don’t see you.” Ghost replied. I cut across the grass.

“How about now?”

“Give me that.” I heard Ricky in the background. More shuffling. “Hey, we see you now, we’ll meet you in the middle.”

“Alright.” I laughed. I hung up the phone. They started walking towards me. Well, except for one of them, which by the looks of the hair, was probably Devin. He was running towards me. I see where this is going.

I put my phone in my pocket, and began sprinting towards Ghost. He held his arms open towards me, and I stopped just before we collided; opening my arms and bracing myself. Ghost crashed into me, knocking the wind out me slightly. I lifted him up in the same instance he hugged me. We laughed hysterically as I twirled him around once, and set him down.

“God, Devin gets so hyper when you’re around.” Ricky came up behind us. He came up and gave me a hug. “And you’re deceptively strong.”

“I wish I knew, my best friend back home is the same way. Apparently, the way she describes it, I give this weird vibe that makes her all happy and hyper.”

Ricky gave me a weird look. “Hey, its not like I want it to happen. I don’t know how many times I've gotten flatten too the ground my someone running and jumping on me without any warning.” I looked at Ghost. “At least he gives me some warning.”

We started walking to the mall entrance. “So, why did you guys suddenly want to hang out?”

Ricky looked at me, “Well, we were thinking of having a little party for Chris next week. His birthday coming up and all. And we were thinking maybe you could help us organize it.” I looked at him skeptically. He tried again. “Well, at least help us pick out some cool stuff.”

“I can try, no guarantees though.” I paused. “What days his birthday?”

“The seventeenth, we’re planning to have it right after the show.”

“Ah, sounds like it’s going to be a busy night.” He nodded. “Hell yeah. You're coming too the show right?”

“Wouldn't miss it.” I smiled as we walked into the mall.

______________

“So, do you like Chris?” Ricky asked. I was in the middle of eating my pad thai, when he caught me off guard. I narrowed my eyes at him. I quickly ate the noodles that were already halfway in my mouth. After I finished chewing, I asked. “What?” I noticed gratefully that Devin wasn't here at the moment.

“I think you heard me.” I glared at him, my face more than likely giving him his answer. “Why do you want to know?”

He shrugged, and smirked. I felt my face heat up, and I had to look away, too make sure I didn't give away anything. My facial features had a habit of betraying me when it comes to loving someone. I felt myself grow hotter. Love?

“Well, you didn't answer my question.”

I looked at him, raising my eyebrow at him. “What makes you think I should give you an answer.”

“So you do.” He finished.

“Your words, not mine.” I took a sip of my water. He gave up on the subject, for now I guessed. Ghost was walking towards us with a bunch of bags. “You got more?” Ricky asked, surprised. “Well, some of its mine. I needed some new clothes.”

“I was gonna say, we got a lot of the stuff we needed stuffed in the back of Rickys truck.” I said. Devin shrugged and sat down beside me. I turned back to my food, and took a few mouthfuls of it. I looked up at Ricky and saw him smirk before he dug into his own food.

I glared at him. He better not start blabbing his mouth. Not like I actually admitted it out loud, but still; the look on his face told me otherwise. Oh well.

___________

“So, when you planning on leaving?” Ghost asked as we hopped in Rickys truck.

“Probably a couple days after Chris’ party. Still have arrange things with my flat, and probably going to have to sell a few things but other than that, yeah.”

Ghost gave me a look of understanding. Ricky looked over at me, his expression unreadable. Although, in my mind, I could almost mistake it for him being mad at me.

I stared ahead, as we pulled out of the parking lot. My phone rang. I looked at the caller ID. “It’s Chris.” Showing Ricky, he panicked. “Shit, I forgot to call him back, quick answer it, but don’t tell him where we were.”

“Well, ‘where are we going to be’ then?” I asked. Ghost quickly answered. “Just tell him we met Jenny on the way to do…” he trailed off.

“To do?”

“Crap crap crap.” My phone stopped ringing. We all kind of glanced in the phone, like we somehow just murdered it.

Ghost flicked me in the shoulder. “Ow!”

“Call him back.”

I pressed redial. He picked up in two short rings. “Hey, I just called.”

“Yeah, sorry about that. I was digging around to find my phone, and by the time I grabbed it and answered, you gave up.”

“Oh, yeah, that sucks, sorry.” he apologized. “No worries. Whats up?”

“I was just wondering if you heard from Ricky. He said he’d call back.”

“Oh, well he’s right here. He offered me a drive when he saw me walking down the street.” I looked at Ricky. “Here, I’ll put you on speakerphone for a sec.”

I pushed the speakerphone. “You there, Ricky?” Chris’ voice came loud over the phone. I put the phone closer too Ricky, so he could talk. “Hey, man, I’m here sorry about not calling you back.”

“Oh, don’t worry about it. I didn't expect you to answer if you were driving. Anyways, what took you so long? I thought you and Devin would be back like an hour ago.”

“Well, like you heard Jen earlier, we saw her walking on the street and offered her a drive, and a-.” Ricky paused.

“We decided to go for something to eat. Jen’s treat.” Ghost laughed the last part. I flicked him. I mouthed. Thanks, asshole. He flicked me back. Chris took a moment too reply, we held our breath hoping he’d buy it. Well, Devin and I held our breath somewhat, we kept flicking each other. Ghost flicked me in the ear, so I slapped his leg, which gave a resounding crack!

He grabbed his leg, and hissed through his teeth. “What was that?” I heard Chris ask. Ghost gave me a hard slap on the leg as payback. “Ouch.” Touching my leg where he slapped. “Bitch.” I laughed.

“You started it.” Ghost said pointedly.

I gaped at him. “I did not, you fucking liar.”

"Jenny and Ghost are fighting like men, they'll get back to us in a second."

I heard Chris start laughing, same with Ricky. “Anyways, you guys on your way here?” Ricky glanced at me. “We just got too make one more stop and then we’re on our way.”

“Alright, see you three then. Also, Jen, you’re obviously invited to come over to. Just so you know.” He laughed.

“Alright, bye.” He hung up.

I looked over at Ricky, and he was smirking again. I slapped Ghost in the leg again. I looked over at Ghost. “This is why you shouldn't wear skirts when your bitch slapping people.” He held his leg all over again.

“So, lets go over too Ryans house, drop off the stuff, and pick up Kylie.” I nodded.

“And now my leg hurts.” Ghost whined for the third time since we picked up Kylie. “Awe, poor Devin.” She cuddled into him, but looked up front at me, and snickered quietly. I giggled lightly. We soon pulled up the studio. Ghost and Kylie got out and Ricky and I were about to follow suit, but then Ricky stopped me.

“I’m sorry about earlier. It was kind of rude of me too push that topic on you.” I looked at him, and gave him a lopsided grin. “Don’t worry about it.” I paused. “But, I’ll tell you a secret. Even if I did, what are the chances of me being remotely in his league.” I shrugged as I jumped out of the truck and walked into the building, hurrying ahead of Ricky. I followed Ghost and Kylie into the recording room, where Chris and Balz where going over some sounds.

Chris looked over at me, and got up and hugged me. “Hey, what’s up?” squeezing me a little. “Not much, Devin was whining all the way here.”

“Hey!”

Everyone laughed, Chris led me over to the recording system, and let me hear some of their new songs, and wondering what I thought.

We conversed about maybe where they needed a bit more or less with the music itself. I answered honestly, and they seemed to appreciate the feedback. We were all discussing the new album, and upcoming tour dates, and anything news worthy.

Soon, Chris wanted to try one of the songs with just an acoustic guitar. I was sitting on the couch chatting with Kylie, when Ricky pulled out his guitar and started playing something quiet and wonderfully sorrowful. Chris came in and started singing quietly along with the music. I couldn't help but stare in admiration. He was wearing one of his all black suits, with a dark grey striped tie. His usual makeup, and his eyebrows drawn on perfectly.

He was becoming increasingly enchanting as I watched him perform in person. Although, I will admit everybody else in the room was gorgeous. There was something hauntingly delicious about watching Chris Motionless perform. So ethereal, that it seemed impossible for me too be here. He looked at me, with intense eyes as he sang that beautiful song. It was hard for me too look away.

He stopped, and then went over to his notes, to possibly change something, because he told Ricky to come and check it over. I felt my phone vibrate and I pulled it out and checked it.

M; Hey! Get home soon, I got a surprise for you! ;D

I looked at my phone like it suddenly spoke German to me. What. I thought. I looked up at the clock, it was becoming late, we should be wrapping up soon.

“Anyway, I think we should leave it for now and come back too it tomorrow.” I heard Chris explain too the guys.

“Alright, Jen do you want me to drop you at your place, mind you I got too drop off most of these guys first. Since they’re closer.”

“I’ll take her.” Chris piped up. We said goodbye and I got up and followed Chris to his car, hopping in and putting my seat belt on.

“So, how was your day?” Chris asked as we pulled out of the studio parking lot. “It was pretty good, nice day for a walk.”

He nodded. “What about you?” I asked him. He nodded again. “It was pretty good, a bit slow. I’m just glad that I wasn't sick when we actually got around to practicing.” He was referring too when he got a pretty nasty cold, and I wouldn't let him leave my flat until he was better.

“Yeah, it would really be a bummer if you were sick and you trying singing.” I shivered.

“No kidding.”

"So, what did you think of the studio?" He asked.

"It was pretty awesome, never been in one before so." I laughed. "The song you sang was beautiful by the way." I complimented him. I saw his cheeks turn pink, and a small grin on his face. "Thanks, it's one of my favorites out of the whole album." I smiled at his happiness.

We were pulling up too my building, and I noticed an unfamiliar car parked in the front. We pulled up, and I unbuckled my seat belt slowly. Chris must have seen my reaction, so he asked. “Whats wrong?”

“Nothing, I just don’t recognize the car.” Still glancing at it. I saw someone get out of the car, it was a she by the looks of it. And when she turned around, I gasped when I saw her face.

I never opened a car door faster. I heard Chris’ door open and shut. “What is it?” He asked coming around too meet me. I pointed behind him, and he turned around.

“What are you doing here?!”
