The Letter

After yesterday, I didn’t know what to do with Ricky. I love him, I do. But when he’s drunk… I get bandages and bruises everywhere. I woke up and looked around, I was on the BMTH bus, I guess Oli took me here or something. I slowly got up, so much pain was shooting through my body. I held onto everything, trying to keep my balance. I made it to the door and opened it, “Ricky?” I called out.
“Ashley baby.” He said running to me. He helped me down the stairs and sat me down.
“Ashley… I didn’t- I mean, I’m so sorry. I’m a different person when I’m drunk.”
“Ricky, shh. You didn’t do anything wrong. I love you.”
“I love you too sweetheart.”
“Are you staying at my aunts with me?”
He nodded, I made my way back to the bus to find Oli. He was asleep in his bunk. I told him to get up otherwise we were going to be late. I also told him that I forgave Ricky. He gave me a nasty look and got up.
We all said our goodbyes to everyone and me, Oli, and Ricky got into a cab. Oli and Ricky could hardly stand each other. When we got to the airport, Oli grabbed my bag, and we walked into all the dumb security checks. Once we passed those, we handed the flight attendant our tickets and sat in our seats, I sat next to Oli and Ricky sat far, far away from us. I frowned a little and cuddled up against Oli.
My wounds hurt like hell, I hated it. I can’t believe Ricky did that, but he was just drunk right? He would never do it again… He loved me too much, he’s way too sweet. I looked over at Oli and gave him a smile, he looked like he was writing some music. I tried looking at it but he would just move it away from my vision.
“Oli what are you writing?” I asking looking up at him with puppy dog eyes.
“You’ll see sooner or later love.” He cooed.
I sighed and shuffled into a comfortable position. I felt myself drifting off. I was woken up to Oli tapping my shoulder, telling me we were here. We grabbed our bags from the overhead compartment, and got off of the plane.
My aunt was there waiting for us, she rushed over to me and hugged me. I cringed, the wounds felt like they were being torn apart. She asked if I was okay, I told her I was fine, I just missed home. She drove us back to her house, the three of us would stay in my room for the next few days.
I showed them to my room, they put their stuff down and plopped on the bed, “Nice room short stack.” Ricky laughed.
“Thanks.” I tried smiling, and caring for him like I did, but every time I try, my wounds ache, my heart hurts, my eyes burn. “Oli can we talk?” I asked stepping out of the room.
“Of course.” He replied following me. We made our way into the office room.
“What’s up buttercup?” He smiled, sitting down on the chair across from me.
“It’s so weird, everything with Ricky, but I love him, I love him so much. He swore he’d never do it again.”
“And Hannah swore she’d never cheat again, but god knows how that went.”
“Oli… I just, I don’t know what to do.” I sighed, feeling a tear fall down my cheek.
“Ashley, any choice you’ll make, you’ll learn from. Trust me love.”
“Thank you.”
“What caused it anyways?”
“I told him I was 16. We fucked.”
“He didn’t know?! Can’t he tell? God, he’s clueless. 16 or not, I still love you Ashley.”
“I love you too Oli.”
We walked back into my bedroom and Ricky was on the phone with someone, I tried ignoring it until he said, “I love you too sweetheart.” I growled under my breath and stormed over to him.
“Who was that?!” I hissed. He didn’t answer. “Who, was, it?!” I shouted again.
“None, of your business.”
“Oh really? Is it because I’m a stupid 16 year old? Oh yeah, that’s It.”
“Ashley fucking stop it.”
“I LOVED YOU.” I shouted pulling up my shirt, “Look what you did to me! Look!”
“Ashley...I-”
“Not ‘Ashley’. No, I won’t forgive you for this, but I will learn to love you Ricky. I will learn to love you again, and this time, I’ll do it right.”
