Where Do We Go From Here?

"I've never been out of the states before."

“I knew it!” Callie exclaimed, making me bury my face in my hands.

At the moment, we were sitting on my roof. I was smoking a cigarette while Callie held her cup of tea in her hands. After Tony left, Callie pulled up while I was in the shower. When I got out, she knew something was different. My shit eating grin might have given that away, but I highly suspected the awkward way I was walking that really gave it away. Even after an hour, I still felt a little sore down there but I loved it. Every movement that made me feel the slight sting was a small reminder that what happened a few hours ago wasn’t in my head.

I took a long drag from my cigarette before exhaling my smoke through a short lived giggle. “It was…amazing.”

“I can’t believe that you…holy shit V!” She exclaimed again with a shit eating grin on her face. “You lost your V card.” She added, making a pun at my expense.

“Will you keep it down!” I hissed. The walls in this house may have not been thin, but with the volume of Callie’s voice, it might as well have been.

“What a slut.” Callie teased. “So, how was he? Did you climax?”

I laughed at the terminology being used. With a bright crimson flush on my face, I shook my head yes.

“Oh my God, he must be really good.” She commented.

I couldn’t explain why I suddenly felt a little embarrassed, but the thought of talking about my virginity status did make me cringe every now and then.

I sighed. “He is and he was really sweet about it.” I mumbled out.

Callie awed at my response. “Was he huge?” She asked.

I guffawed, remembering just how full I felt when he had entered me halfway. “Yes.” I said through a chuckle. “I thought he wasn’t gonna fit.” I added with an embarrassed flush coating my face. Shaking my head, I asked “What’s new with you and Mike?”

Callie was still laughing as she answered “We’re good, working on the sex thing.”

Taking the last drag of my cigarette, I flicked the burning nub off the roof and into the small puddle of water near the fence. I was becoming a little too liberal with my smoking habits that I needed to find an ashtray that I could hide in my room. I made a mental note to buy one soon.

“Has he ever...have you ever climaxed yet?” I asked.

Callie smirked. “Mike’s done oral on me and yeah, I have. It was mind-blowing.”

We both started cracking up before moving onto other conversations. Callie’s mom paid for Callie’s ticket to Santorini. Callie begged her mother that she wanted to come with us and my mother even offered to help pay for Callie’s ticket, but in the end Callie’s mother approved it and paid for the entire trip. Callie was never really close to her mother and now that Callie’s mom has a new boyfriend, most of her attention will be focused on the guy rather than Callie.

“I’ve never been out of the states before.” Callie admitted.

Thankfully, my mother was well aware of how little Callie’s travelling was and had already taken Callie to get her passport ready.

“You’ll love Santorini.” I assured her. “My family there are completely insane, but in the best way possible. And the beaches there are so beautiful.”

I’ve only ever been to Santorini a handful of times, and each time I’ve visited it was always memorable. My uncles and aunts there are all vibrant people that are eccentric and passionate.

“Yeah, I remember meeting a few of them when they visited here a few years ago.” Callie replied. “Will Ronnie be able to go?” She asked.

My smile dropped a little. “No. Unfortunately, West Brooke didn’t approve for Ronnie to travel internationally, but my mom did manage to get Ronnie a weekend pass for when we return. Yia Yiá will be coming back as well.” I answered.

“At least she can spend New Year’s with us.” Callie commented optimistically.

I shrugged. “I figured that since Ronnie was making such good progress that they’d award her with something like this trip.”

“Are Jason and Cassandra heading up as well?”

“No, they’re flying to Seattle to spend time with Cassandra’s family. I think that February both of our families will finally be meeting each other.” I replied.

“That sounds fun.”

I laughed. “Yeah, maybe. Cassandra did mention that her family is a little overbearing at first.”

“I’m pretty sure that the overbearing award might just go to your Yia Yiá.” Callie remarked.

I laughed. “Exactly, it’s the reason why Jason has agreed to have her choose the priest that will conduct the wedding. Yia Yiá is a strong believer in tradition and she will not stand for just any kind of priest to conduct the wedding.”

Callie smiled. “It must be nice though, to have this really huge family.”

I offered a sympathetic look to Callie. I was well aware of her home life. Callie is the outcome of a teen pregnancy which landed both her and her mother out of the favor of her mother’s parents. Lauren—Callie’s mother—was disowned by her family upon making the decision to keep her child. Callie’s father wasn’t really around either. Callie mentioned that he father used to send her birthday cards and then they suddenly stopped once she reached 9, which was around the time I first met Callie.

Coincidentally, I knew what it felt to not know what it was like to know your family. My mother’s side never spoke to us. They are proud southern people, and when my mother told her parents she’d been engaged to my father, they turned their backs on her. Stan and Julianne—my mother’s parents—disliked my father and claimed that he was beneath them. The Reginald’s—my mother’s maiden name as well as Stan and Julianne’s surname—came from old money that passed down through generations since the civil war. Stan was a Governor for Charleston and therefore believed that my mother should marry an aspiring politician. Anyway, long story short, Stan and Julianne don’t keep in contact with us and shun their only daughter for loving a man they couldn’t accept.

“It’s always interesting.” I commented.

Callie started to smile widely. “I want to buy myself a dress when I get to Santorini. You know one of those maxi dresses that probably costs a lot but are really comfortable.” She stated excitedly.

“Well you’re in luck because Santorini is in great supply of maxi dresses.” I smiled.

Notes

Some back info on Callie and Verity's mother's side of the family. I don't have drama planned until a little later on in this story. And to be honest, I never thought this story would be this lengthy. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy this chapter even though it's uneventful.

Thanks for reading guys!!!! :D

*tears* Aww. That was a great end! It wasn't annoyingly ambiguous. If you find a plat suitable for a sequel, then please don't even hesitate to write it. But I wouldn't mind reading a different stroy by you either.
