Ghost In The Mirror

But I Don't Think Words Can Express Your Beauty, It's Singing To Me

JOSH'S P.O.V.

It's been a week now that Tarra and I have been together. Im beyond happy that she felt the same way I did. I thought that I messed up every chance I had with her that night. She was so quiet....so unspoken. I was scared.

But then she kissed me. Just the thought of that kiss sends my heart fluttering. I mean yes, we've kissed since then but that was our first and it was the most amazing feeling in the world.

Thankfully, Tarra's boss had hired a few more employee's so she doesn't have to work as much. This means today she is off. Im borrowing my parent's car, I walk everywhere so I don't drive much which is why I don't have a car, and taking her out on a date.

She still doesn't know where we are going. I told her this morning to put something nice on and be ready at six. I think I've gotten about twenty texts from her per hour begging for me to tell her where Im taking her.

I made last minute adjustments to my outfit. I was wearing my black skinny jeans, a white button-up dress shirt, and my black vest. I wiped of a bit of dust I found on my blacked out vans. I fixed my hair a bit and put my hollow white plugs in my ears.

I looked at my phone to check the time. It was fifteen minutes until six. With a nervous sigh I walked out of the bathroom and went into the living room where my parents were.

"Mom, dad, Im leaving now." I informed them before walking towards the front door.

"Use protection." My dad warns.

"Drive safe." My mom says.

"Love you guys!" I called out to them as I was walking outside.

"Love you too, son!" They said as I shut the door.

I began driving over to Tarra's apartment, that nervous feeling I had in the bathroom while tidying myself up seemed to grow with every second that passed.

I tried to play some AFI to calm my nerves but nothing was working, which sucked. I feel like Im going to mess something up. Like, what if I compliment her the wrong way? Or what if I trip and fall? What if she doesn'tlike what I had in plan for tonight?

I pulled into a empty parking pace of her complex and tried to calm myself down before going to knock on her door. Deep breath in.....deep breath out.

I stumbled out of the car, still nervous as ever but slightly a bit more confident, and went to her door. I knocked on it and waited patiently on her to open the door.

"Hey." She greeted as she opened the door.

"Wow." Was the only thing I could think of to say back. She had on a fitted black dress that showed off her curves in all the right places and grey heels that went surprisingly well with it. "You look beautiful." I murmered.

"You look great to." She says, trying to hide her blush behind her hair. I tucked it behind her hair and kissed her. I instantly started feeling less nervous. She calmed me down just by being her.

"You ready?" I asked, earning a nod from her.

"Yeah. Just let me lock the door." She says.

I step back as she closes the door and locks it. I take her hand in mine and walk her towards the car where I opened her door for her. I went to my side and climbed in then started on my fourty five minute drive ahead of us.

"So where are we going?" She questions, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips.

"Im not telling you." I shrugged, earning a groan from her.

"But why not?" She whines.

"Because it's a surprise." I winked. "Oh and in about fourty minutes you gotta but the blindfold over your eyes that's in the glove box."

"But I wanna see the surprise!"

"And you will! I just don't want to ruin the surprise before we get there." I stated. That being said, she didn't beg for me to tell her anymore, which I was thankful for. I almost gave in quite a few times now.

I reached across the console and locked my fingers with hers. A smile grew across her face as I did so, which made me happy.

With her free hand she started rummaging through the immense amount of CD's in the car. She decided to listen to an Aerosmith CD, the song Janie's Got A Gun flooded through the speakers.

About six songs later our destination started to come into view. "Baby, you gotta put the blindfold on now." I told her. I let go of her hand so she could put the blindfold on. "We'll be there in about five minutes."

"Im excited." She gushed, smiling from ear to ear.

Soon we arrived. I turned the car off and got out. I went to the other side of the car and opened the door for her. After she got out I closed it and guided her to our destination. I guided her down a small rocky path, which was hard for her to walk it from her shoes so I ended up carrying her, and brought her to a small waterfall my dad took me to when I was younger.

I gently placed Tarra back on her feet and took the blindfold off her. "Oh my God!" She breathed. "Josh, this is beautiful. How did you find it?"

"When I was younger my dad took me here. He told me this was where he brought my mom when he proposed. He told me not to bring any girl out here that isn't special to me. He said that this is a place where love, beauty, and passion will flourish. I've come here a few times alone since then trying to figure out what he meant. When I met you, I figured it out." I explained.

"What does it mean?" She asks as she breaks her gaze from the beautiful scenery ahead of us and turned around to face me. I wrapped my arms around her tiny waist and pulled her closer to me and kissed her.

"Love. The best and most beautiful things can not be seen or even heard but must be felt with the heart. Beauty. Like I said, it can't be seen but it can show itself. Beauty is a word that is exaggerated a lot but also isn't used enough on the things that hold the truest of beauties. Passion. It's more than just enthusiasm or excitement. It's ambition to put as much mind, body and soul you can into something until it becomes something great." I say, staring into her gorgeous green eyes as every word slips past my lips.

"Josh, that was the most amazing thing anyone has ever said." She replies. I lean down and connect my lips with hers. This kiss, it was better than our first. It held so much passion in it that my heart could explode. I pulled her as close to me as I could as she wrapped her arms around my next. Her fingers found themselves tangled in my hair, tugging slightly and the ends of it creating soft moans to part from my kiss-swollen lips.

We pulled away, the both of us needing air, panting slightly into one another's mouth. I pecked her lips once more before letting her go and pulling something out of the woods that I had hidden earlier today.

I made a playlist of slow songs from her favorite bands to slow dance to. I pressed play the walked back over to Tarra and put her hands in the right places and potioning mine in the same way.

She had head head on my chest and her arms looped around my neck. I head my head resting atop hers and my hands were pulling her closer to me.

"Thank you Josh." Tarra whispers.

"For what?" I ask.

"Being the perfect boyfriend."

"Im not trying to be. If anything, I should be thanking you. You bring out the best in me." I admitt and leave a kiss on Tarra's head. "So thank you, my amazing girlfriend Tarra, for being wonderful and perfect and amazing and every other cheesy thing I fogot to say."
