Aurora's POV:

*The Next Day*

"So you think Mike's going to be there when you get home?" Sab's voice was groggy and coated with the sleep that I'm pretty sure she'd easily fall back into right now.

"Yeah which I totally don't care about like it's cool and all because he'll take me skating and we can jam out on the drums together but the weird thing is him and Mum have been speaking so much lately and she's getting all weird," Sab was sticking her tongue out like she was about to vomit because she was on the same page I was, old people don't date.

"Ew do you think they might be getting back together?" I cringed at the thought.

"Yuck I can't even think about Mum being in love she's never had a boyfriend since I can remember and her and Mike have always just been friends to me I just think it'd be strange," it was true, they were always just best friends and nothing ever happened to prove otherwise but now Mum's getting all flirty on the phone and it's just plain weird.

"Yeah but it'd probably be no different to how it is now like he's never here anyway," she had a valid point.

"True but still weird, she'd want to talk to me about it because she has no friends and that'd be sooo gross," I fake gagged making Sab laugh hysterically.

"Speaking of Mike being at your house, when do you think he'll get there?" I knew Sab was interested just because she'd spend the entire time he was there practically living at my house so she could hang out with 'The Mike Fuentes from Pierce The Veil'. It was really no big deal to me but to her, god I'm surprised her head hasn't exploded.

"They're probably already there," I was kind of excited to see Mike, he was always so much fun when he visited. It was like a mini adventure every time we were together which was another reason it was hard to call him 'dad' because he acted more like the cool uncle or a friend.

"So why can't your Mum get you?" she queried genuinely confused if they were already home.

"They'll probably have some sort of surprise set up for me when I get there. Speaking of did you ask Trent if he could take me home?" I shrugged my shoulders as the gesture they were sure to make.

"Nah I, uh, forgot," she stuttered which meant she was totally lying. That sneaky devil!

"No you didn't! You bitch, you were going to make me ask this whole time!" I accused her playfully.

"What?! You and him need some alone time, you should be thanking me," she tried to make out what she did was a good deed.

"Alone time for what exactly?!" I begged, we literally did not need any alone time. I freeze in my spot and stare like an idiot, he'd think I'm weird.

"Sucking faces," ew.

"He wouldn't," I mumbled, upset knowing he never would.

"But you would?" she winked at me cheekily.

"Shut up!" I was blushing a bright red, I could feel my cheeks getting warmer as the conversation continued.

"Just go to his room and ask what's the worse that could happen?" she proposed her question almost like it was a dare.

"Fine," I dragged out the 'e' not bothering to argue with her. I heaved my petite frame off of the mattress on the floor and changed quickly from my baggy pyjamas into my oversized Northlane shirt and acid wash skinny jeans. There was no way I'd let Trent see me in my pjs, how embarrassing!

I trudged down the hallway and knocked softly onto his bedroom door, so softly in fact I don't think he'd even hear it especially if he was sleeping. Just my luck, the door creaked open revealing a sleep ridden Trent. His short hair was all scruffy and his beautiful chocolate orbs half open. I was so lost in his eyes I almost didn't notice he stood there only in his boxers. When I noticed I quickly turned my head to the side so that he wouldn't see the blush that was surely creeping up my entire face.

"Don't act as if you haven't seen me walking around the house like this before," his voice was husky like he'd just awoken and it made my heart pound a million times faster. I turned back to him and he nodded his head back motioning me to come into his room. Without a second thought I walked forward into his room which was surprisingly clean. I don't know what Sab was talking about when she said it stank because now all I could smell was his spicy, mouth watering cologne. I sat awkwardly on his couch while he laid back on his bed like a starfish.

"You never open the door straight away when we knock.." it came out more like a fact but it was more of a question.

"Wrong," he corrected me leaving me confused, "I never open the door straight away when Sabrina knocks," I had to think for a moment but he was right, whenever I knocked on the door he'd open it in seconds.

"How'd you know it was me?" I wondered aloud.

"I can just tell," he made me blush, "you don't bang obnoxiously four minutes on end, you're quiet. It's cute.." he trailed off at the end. HE THINKS I'M CUTE?! I had to stop myself from jumping off the couch and running in circles in excitement. I had to push away the fluttering butterflies in my stomach otherwise I'd look like a total dick. Calm down Rory, breathe.

"Oh.." it was all I'd manage to push out. Good one dick head. "You're cute too."

"Thanks," he awkwardly replied. Oh fuck I'd said that out loud, change the subject already. He just meant you were baby cute not attractive cute, loser.

"Anyway could I ask a huge favour?" I asked whilst sitting up in my spot desperate to leave the room.

"Don't worry the brat already asked," he answered nonchalantly quickly averting to the subject change which relieved me a lot.

"For you to drive me home soon?" I was confused, Sab said she didn't ask?

"Oh I thought you were talking about the concert, yeah sure that's fine. When did you want to leave?" he answered making everything a little bit more understandable.

"I'm ready nowish," I said not giving him time to answer before I ran out of his room, swinging the door shut behind me before running back to my best friends room. I packed all my things into my bag and swiftly pulled my messy bed hair into a loose bun, the plugs in my ears now visible through loose strands of my strawy red hair.

"Gosh what are you rushing for?" she pushed for an answer.

"To get away from the embarrassment of calling your brother cute!" I yell whispered.

"You what?" she squealed with delight as if it was the best thing to ever happen.

"This is not a good thing Sab! I'm so mortified you should have seen his face it had 'what the fuck' written all over it!" I was probably being a little over dramatic.

"Oh come on it's obvious he likes you he probably just didn't know what to say!" she actually believed this it wasn't just a thing she was saying to try and cheer me up but either way, it didn't cheer me up.

"Princess!" Trent called from down stairs, I didn't even hear his bedroom door open let alone hear his thunder feet walking down the staircase. 'Princess' was practically everyone's nickname for me because I had the same name as Sleeping Beauty, Mum just loooves Disney.

"Yeah?" I hesitantly called back blushing because he used my nickname. I never felt anything when anyone else would call me 'Princess' but with him, I don't even know it was just special. Like I was his princess. I wish!

"Ready to go?" I scooped Sab into a hug and murmured something about seeing her at school tomorrow before throwing my bag on my back and rushing out of her room.

"Coming!" I called when I reached the staircase.

Trent's POV:

I stood at the foot of the staircase by the front door waiting for Rory which didn't take any time at all really. When she got to the top of the stairs she pulled the funniest pose like some kind of supermodel. The girl had a sense of humour for someone so shy, I loved it.

"How do I look?" she did a twirl careful not to fall down the flight of stairs and laughed, snorting a little as she did so, causing her to throw her hands over her mouth and as much as she thought it was embarrassing to me it was the most adorable thing she could do.

I knew her question wasn't serious but it gave me a moment to take in her breathtaking looks. She was a stunner, her blood red hair always shining and her pearly white teeth always glowing between her everlasting smile that rested on her soft, plump, pink lips. When she started clunking down the stairs I noticed I was staring and snapped myself out of it and replied to her joke.

"Oh you're just dashing!" I put on a horrible, snotty English accent that made her giggle the slightest.

"You sound almost like Uncle Oliver," she referred to Oliver Sykes. It amazed me how casually she'd roll their names of her tongue like they were nothing but her uncles but man, those guys were my idols.

"Hardly!" I retorted knowing Oli didn't sound anywhere near as posh as I just did. With that she just laughed without reply and we headed out the front door to my 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429. She'd always been impressed by it from the first day I brought it home and even now. Her eyes glistened as she stared at the metallic midnight black paint.

"When you get sick of driving this can I have it?" I laughed at her question and so did she, she new it was something that would never in a million life times happen.

"I don't think I'll be getting sick of this baby any time soon Rory, sorry," she pouted her bottom lip at me and tried to give me those adorable puppy dog eyes but it wasn't working, not when it came to my pride and joy.

***

Most of the ride to her house was spent in a comfortable silence which I'd say was only comfortable because Motionless In White and AFI was blaring the entire way there. The music did comfort the awkwardness as we both jammed along however it didn't do much for putting my mind at ease when I heard Rory's delicate voice play over and over in my head.

"You're cute too," I didn't know what to say or do when the worlds spilled over her lips. I never knew she'd felt the same way as I did that's why I always brushed it off whenever any of my mates of Sabrina bought it up but her saying that just confirmed it. She slipped up, I know she didn't mean to say it because she changed the subject almost straight away so I just played along because I didn't want to weird her out. The list kept growing in my head, why I can't like Rory: she's three years younger, she's your sisters best friends, she's too innocent, not to mention I'm pretty sure Miss Bennett and Mike don't like me that much.

When the thirty minute or so ride finally ended and I pulled up to the curb of her driveway she gave me an awkward half smile before picking up her bag from beneath her feet. I turned down the music so we could actually hear each other speak, that's if either of us would say something because I'm sure her mind was racing just as much as mine was.

"Thanks for the lift, Mum couldn't get me she was picking up Mike from the airport," that reminded me, she never did mention why she needed a ride home.

"Mike's in town?" she shrugged her shoulders like it was no big deal.

"From what I can gather listening in on Mum's phone call last night he is," she admitted in a hushed tone before shrugging her shoulders together one more time.

"Why do you sound so unexcited?" I queried, worried about her being upset.

"Because I have to pretend that I see him like my Dad when he's not," she'd mentioned she'd felt this way a few times over the years but it only ever came up every now and then not all the time and it was generally when she was thinking about her real dad, Austin Carlile.

"I wish I could say 'hey I know how you feel and it's going to be fine' but I don't know how you feel and I don't know if it'll get better for you or not but just know I'm always here for you if you need someone to talk to other than Sabrina. I care about you too," her emerald eyes pierced mine as I reached for her hand across the car in support, she hesitated a little when I first went to take it in my own but quickly relaxed.

"Trent I, uh," she stuttered to get out what she wanted to say before sighing, "thank you," she simplified what was obviously buzzing around that pretty little head of hers.

"Welcome Princess," I cooed her nickname, which I secretly wished was her nickname from me but I knew it never would be.

"Can I say something stupid?" she urged.

"I don't know Aurora, you're usually quite intelligent are you even capable of saying something stupid," I joked and she let out a small chuckle before I motioned for her to continue with what she wanted to say.

"When you call me Princess," she started then took a large breath and exhaled, "I imagine that I'm your princess and I want so much for that to be true," I was dumbfounded, literally. Not because I thought what she said was stupid but because this girl was so shy and she'd built up enough courage to say that to me, something I wish I had the balls enough to do first.

"I want the same thing," I lulled making her eyes widen in surprise. Before I knew it we were leaning in closer across the car, her lips parted before puckering and our hands locked tighter together.

"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING WITH MY DAUGHTER?" a rough and certainly loud voice roared through the window of my car. Aurora and I both snatched away from each other and were not surprised to see Mike storming closer down the driveway before yanking the passenger door open and pulling Rory out of her seat by the arm.

"Mike what the he-" he cut her off before she could finish.

"You listen to me Aurora Grace you will not be seeing this boy again, he's too old for you. Look at all those tattoos a boy like that is not good for you!" oh he's got to be kidding me, look at yourself dude.

"Mike!" she yelled.

"Dad," he corrected her and she rolled her eyes.

"Dad," she groaned, "You just ruined my first kiss!" first kiss? I mean I didn't think she'd be one to get around but come on the girl was fucking gorgeous, she should have guys lining up at her door.

"You should be thanking me you don't want something like that to be with a guy like him," Mike was pointing at me now from the driveway and Aurora's eyes were streaming down her pale cheeks, I couldn't stand to watch her cry.

I wasn't sticking around to listen to this twat bag me out any longer. I reached over the car slamming the door shut and sat back in my seat, putting the car in first and then releasing the clutch as I accelerated I tore off back up the road ignoring Rory's screams for me not to go.
