In The Back Of A Cop Car

Vic’s POV


“I hate my job!” I muttered

Okay, so that was a lie. I do not in fact hate my job but in fact the complete opposite. I adore being a juvenile parole officer. It was something I wanted to do, other than be a lead singer of a band, since I was a child. When I found out that their was a way that I could be a officer and help out the troubled youth of my city I was all in.

Although I did not know that it would require sitting at a desk for hours.

It reminded to much of school. Again, don’t get me wrong, I did not hate school. But don’t confuse my un-hatred with a love either because I sure did not love it. School was a gray area for me. I was one of those kids who sat in the back of the class. I wasn’t a jock or wanna be bad bad, nothing close to that despite the illegal actions I’m partaking in years later with a minor. But you know the kid that sat at the back of class gazing out the window, paying no attention whatsoever to the teacher. Yet, they managed to be a ‘A’ student.

Yeah, that was me.

“Vickyyyyy!” Kellin whined.

I looked up at my partner. “What Kellin?”

“I was talking to you…….we’re you even listening.” He gave me a knowing look.

I smiled “Of course I was.”

“I think your mouth should be quiet...cause it never tells the truth Victor.” Kellin sang. He had a nice voice. Rather high pitched but it was very beautiful nonetheless. “Seriously, what had you zoned out….where you thinking about a particular client?”

I rolled my eyes “NO! I wasn’t thinking about Ronnie!”

“I didn’t say anyone in particular Victor.” His voice dripped with intimidation. I always wondered how he managed to get the toughest criminals to confess to the deepest crimes. Now I see why. Kellin may seem soft but he’s a freakin iron ball. He sat down in the chair and looked me in the eye. “So tell me…...what’s going on with you and ahmmmm?”

I let out a agitated puff of air “Kellinnnn pleaseee?”

This is exactly what I was afraid of. Being so damn obvious that people would start to figure us out. I had been messing around with Ronnie for a good three months now. I was really careful. Going to house when I said that their was schedule meetings and never really going out together. I hated it because I wanted more with the younger but I was doing it for the sake of us.
“Vic, if it make you feel any better….you're not the only one with a dirty little secret.” He exclaimed. I raised an eyebrow at the man, urging him to continue. He smiled one of those sneaky smiles. “I may or may not be doing the same thing that you’re doing with one of my friends too.” My eyes went wide and his smile turn into more of a sneaky smirk. “You’re not the only one allowed to have fun are you?”

“I….but….who?” I croaked, still in shock

He grabbed his phone, tapping furiously with his fingers before handing the device to me. I squinted my eyes as I looked at the picture that was displayed on the phone. I saw Kellin, of course how could I miss those big doppie blue eyes. But behind him stood someone that I’ve seen before but I couldn’t quite place where.

“Slid to the next picture….it’s a better one.”

So I did as he said and an image of a very handsome boy popped up. Now, I knew who the person was. My mouth dropped.

“You...and…” I looked at Kellin and he nodded. I shook my head in disbelief “I never would have guessed that.”

“Of course not….which just started though.” He shrugged his shoulders “I’m pretty sure you would have guessed. Kind of like I did with you and ……” He nodded his head from side to side as he dragged on the and. He smiled “We’re so bad.”

I laughed “Oh YEAH!”

I glanced down at my watch to see that it was almost twelve. About lunch time. I’m not sure what time Ronnie’s coming by to bring me lunch. I smiled at the thought of him and also at how sweet the gesture was. He did not have to bring me lunch. I had never even insinuated that I wanted him to bring me lunch but yet he brought up the idea.

“You’re thinking about him aren’t you?” The younger asked me snapping me from my thoughts

I glanced at him before looking back at me work. “Maybe..”

“You’ve fallen so damn hard.” he chuckled and I just frowned. I found nothing amusing about me falling in love. He ruffled my hair. “Hey, at least he feel just as hard for you also.”

I glared at him “How do you know if he did or not?”

“Nobody stares at somone like he does you and NOT be in love with that person.” He retorted.
I just blushed. Did Ronnie really stare at me? I don’t know. From what I can remember we’re both looking into each other’s eyes and….

Oh…..that makes since.

It’s funny the things that you don’t notice until others point them out to you. I guess the fact that I stare at him just as much may also pay a factor in things as well. And when I’m not staring, I’m looking down and blushing because I was caught staring.

Oh, the irony

“Well look what the cat dragged in.” Kellin said in a sarcastic tone.

I turned around to be meet with a gorgeous prince charming. He smiled at me and I smiled back. He was my prince charming. I stood up from my desk, walking over to meet him halfway.

“Hi!” I whispered

He chuckled “Hello there!”

“What did you bring to eat?” I tried to look in the bag only to have it pulled away before I could get a glimpse. I pouted slightly.

“It’s a surprise.”

I looked at the bag noticing the chinese writing. I looked back at him with a raised eyebrow.

“It’s chinese.” I stated

Now it was his turn to pout. “How’d you guess?”

“It’s still in the damn China Wok bag stupid.” I let out a laugh and so did he. I watched as the corner of his eyes crinkled. I loved when his eyes did that. I nudged his shoulder. “Follow me. Let’s go sit in my office and eat.”

I led the way to my office which happened to be towards the middle of the building. I crossed the threshold and waited until Ronnie walked inside before closing and locking the door. Most of the blinds were shut instead of two, so i shut those before turning my attention to the younger.

Suddenly I was pushed against the door and soft lips were pushed against mines. I let out a gasp, shocked by the sudden outburst of affection, but I soon relaxed into the kiss. Our lips meshed together perfectly. I let out a little moan, not too loud because these office walls were definitely not soundproof. He pulled away adding a chaste kiss to my nose.

“I wanted to do that since I saw you.”

I smiled “ Well I can say the same.”

“Come on!” He intertwined our hands and dragged me over to the desk. “Let’s eat before the food get’s cold.”

I rolled my eyes “Sure!”

He pulled out the tray and handed it to me. The pungent smell hit my nose and it wrinkled.

“Okay, somethings wrong with this food. It smells nothing like chinese.”

He chortled “What does it smell like then?”

“It smells like alfredo.” I poked out my bottom lip “Why does our chinese food smell like alfredo Ronnie?”

His eyes looked around the room, everywhere but my gaze. He shrugged nonchalantly “I dunno. Shouldn’t you be asking the mean little lady at the Chinese place that?”

I rolled my eyes at that because she was not mean at all. Ronnie is just very obnoxious and she does not quite understand his humor. Not that there's much there to understand. I sat down unfolding the napkins placing one on my lap and tucking one in the helm of my shirt.

“Why you being so fucking proper?”

I glared at him “Because I actually care about not getting messy while I eat.” He grunted at that. I ignored him. “And besides…..I do have to go back to work and look presentable.”

I watched as Ronnie opened his plate and stuffed a piece of garlic bread in his mouth. I pushed aside the fact that it was weird as fuck to have garlic bread with Chinese; I was more so focused on the fact that he was about to talk with his mouth full.

“Tuke shmmmf …..probbfffm solvvd.”

I cringed. “Ronnie stop talking with your mouth full! I got nothing of what you just said because you had a big piece of garlic bread in your mouth.”

He smirked mischievously “Kind of like how my dick…..” I gave him the look and he stopped. “Anyways, I said take off your shirt. Problem solved.”

“Your childish.”

He laughed “I’m sixteen……”

“You’re still childish. More so than a sixteen year old should be.” I looked at him and saw the glint in his eye. I know he was thinking something overly sexual. “Don’t even think about saying what you’re thinking.”

“Shut up and eat your food.”

The door swung open and a blue eyed monster strode in.

“My god, you guys argue worse than a married couple.” He smirked lightly “Although, their are some similarities aren’t they?”

I could see Ronnie body tense up at that statement. He looked over at me with eyes full of sorrow. I guess he thinks that Kellin found out, which he did, but I’m assuming from the youngers reaction that he thinks this is a bad thing.

“Does he know?”

“Of course I know!” Kellin chirped as he made his way over to my desk, propping himself on top as usual. “I know everything.”

“Vic….I...I d-didn’t…..I’m sorry.”

I laughed and this caused Ronnie to give me a confused look “It’s fine.”

He shot up out of his chair “No! No it’s not! Because they’re going to take you away from me! They can’t take you away! You can’t leave me!” I watched as tears fell down his face. I could feel my own heart crumble at just how distraught he was. He started to pace the small room. “I-if you leave I….I won’t stay sane. W-who’s going to take care of the kids i-if I’m in a l-looney bin.”

Okay now I’m so confused

“Ronnie….”

He kept going as if I said nothing “They’ll take them! And you! I can’t have both of you gone! Everyone who I love in my life l-leaves me. My dad…..my mom…..you.”


I walked over to him and smacked him which shocked him out of the panic state that he was originally in.
“I’m not going anywhere! Kellin’s not telling anyone! We’re fine!” I whispered

He choked back a sob “So you’re not going to jail?”

“No…..” I thumbed the tears from his eyes before placing a kiss on his lips. “No….I’m staying right here….with you…...and the kids.”


With a sigh of relief Ronnie’s body relaxed. I felt him lean into me and I did what came the most natural. I cradled him into my warm loving embrace. I let him rest his head on my chest and just trailed my hands through his hair. I could feel him relax even more at this action.

I can’t believe he got so emotional. Normally, I’m the one to get all up in my feelings but today was definitely a reciprocal effect. Ronnie showed his true colors and I am kind of special. I was wondering where his heart was and how much he really cared. Today showed me that….well damn I have a sexy as man, or boy, that loves me like hell.

I’d be a idiot if I didn’t feel special.

I glanced over at Kellin to see him stuffing a stringy substance in his mouth. “Kellin…...what the fuck are you eating?!”

“Some kind of alfredo shit...but whatever it is...it is good!” He said in between bites of food. “Where did this come from?”

“Vic’s favorite restaurant.” Ronnie spoke up. I looked at him with a raised eyebrow and he gave me a quick peck on the cheek. “I decided to surprise you by bringing your favorite meal for lunch but…..” We both glanced a Kellin before looking back at each other. “You saw how that worked out.”

I grinned “And the Chinese…..that was all a trick.” I watched him nod and oddly enough I blushed. “You didn’t have to do that.”

“Well I wanted too.” He reached into the bag pulling out another plate. “And luckily I remember you saying that Kellin takes your lunch all the time. So I came prepared.”

“Oh yeahhhhhh!” Kellin laughed as he made his way off the desk and to the door. He peeked over his shoulder with a grin. “He’s definitely a keeper!”

Kellin walked out the room leaving a triumphant smile on Ronnie’s face. I straddled him with a giggle “Somebody’s happy hmmm?”

“Somebody’s adorable hmmmm?” He retorted
“I’ve been told.” I lean in connecting our lips for a couple seconds. I could feel the butterflies swirling around in my stomach. This is not okay. I’m a thirty one year old acting like a horny teenager. I let out a breath. “I love this.”

“I love you.”

I gushed at that. Okay, I’m certainly sure I’m turning into a teenager now. “Can I ask for a request? And it’s okay if you deny me of this request.” He asked. I gave him inquiring look but nodded for him to continue on. “Well…..I love you and you know that. And well, I know you’re mine and I know you’re yours and well….” He bit his lip as he tried to contemplate how to word his sentence. I bit back my smile because I have a feeling that I knew where he was going with this. “And well…..I guess we just aren’t official. And I’ve never wanted to be official with anyone before because….well….I guess it’s just not me I guess. Then you came along and we'll….changed everything and…”

“Yes, Ronnie.” I chuckled. He was rambling but it was undeniably cute. “Jesus christ yes just stop with your adorable rambling already.”

“I never asked the question though!’

“I’ll go steady with you Ronnie.” I gave him a quick kiss “Now do you see a need to keep blabbering for another thirty minutes just to ask a question that I’ve already gave you a answer for?”

I watched as his eyes twinkled and I could feel my insides turn upside down and inside out. He is doing this to me and now he’s finally mine. It seems so surreal like a perfect dream. Yet at the same time it seems like destiny.

No….” He spoke dooply.


I snickered “Yeah, I didn’t think so.”
