Native Tongue

"Is it too soon to say you look so beautiful under the moonlight?" he says as we head towards the beach. "Not all. It's very sweet of you to say that." I say reassuring him. "The rose is beautiful Austin." "Not as beautiful as you." I smile. "I feel like I've known you forever. Something about you is so comforting Aria. I can't pin it, but there's something about you." He looks at me with his warming eyes. "I need to tell you before anything happens between us. I've been hurt plenty of times in the past, and I'm not looking to get hurt in the near future. If that's the case give me a month's notice or something so I can get out not, and by that I mean not out of Santa Monica, but whatever's going to happen between you and I. If that's too much to ask then I don't know what to tell you." I look at him for reassurance. "I can promise you, no I pinky promise you that I am not going to hurt you. I don't want to, and I wouldn't want to. You're not asking for a lot trust me. I've been through a lot for a guy my age with relationships, and I too am tired of being hurt. Now if I'm not asking for too much, may I hold your hand?" Kindly asking me for approval. "Yes of course." I say smiling at him.

Later that night we ended up back his place. His home was so beautiful, and bigger than mine, but that's not the point.

"Watch for the dog she tends to get excited when I have company over. Would you like anything to drink?" He says heading over to the kitchen. "She's said hello to me already, and she's a sweet heart. What do you have?" I ask looking around his place. "Her name is Belle. I have beer, but if you're not in the mood for that there's Vitamin Water, apple juice, and Coke." "I'll have a Vitamin Water. I've already had a beer today, and one's enough." Austin walks back into the living room handing me the Vitamin Water, and then opening his Coke. "You're place is stunning. How long have you lived here?" I ask walking over to sit down. "I think 3 years? It feel shorter than that. The band and I are touring most of the time, so I'm rarely home. Would you like to watch a movie? I have netflix." That night turned into a late movie night, and one of the best nights I've had in a long time. We ended up watching Across The Universe, and it couldn't have been any better. We talked about The Beatles, and their impact on music. During the movie he decided to make his second move by putting his arm around me, and he smelled so good. After the movie was over he put Frozen on, and I ended up falling asleep halfway through the movie with his arm still intact.

I woke up on Austin's chest and checked my phone that was blown up by Hannah's text asking where I was and if I'm alright. I woke Austin up to let him know I'm going home, and his bed head was so adorable. "When am I going to see you again?" He asks as I slip my shoes on. "Before your barbeque. I'll let you know when." Leaving a kiss on his cheek to say good bye.

I headed home to hear Hannah shouting my name, "Ari is that you!?" "Yes it's me I have returned safe and sound!" I shout. "Where have you been?" she curiously asks. "Well you see after you went to bed last night Austin asked if I wanted to go for a walk on the beach and I kindly accepted. After we ended up going back to his place, and it turned into a last movie night. Durring Frozen we ended up falling asleep and that was it. I woke up and told him I'll be going home and here I am home safe and sound mom." I laugh. "Well now that I am home I'm going to hop into the shower and I'm thinking of going for a drive. I'm not in the mood stay home cooped up all day." I say heading over to my bedroom. "Me too! I'll come with."
