Who Can Save Me Now?

It’s been two weeks and there have been no sign that my parents have been looking for me. I sighed, leaning back into the old, but very comfortable couch Alyssa owned. I looked around the living room, seeing her things scattered everywhere. I looked at the mermaid statue she owned on the counter. She loved mermaids and anything under water, which explains her bright red hair. Her left arm was a sleeve tattoo of sea animals and a mermaid. Her right arm was a galaxy theme, also being her favorite.

I met her through Tumblr a year ago when she lived in England. She recently moved here to New Jersey a few months ago, still getting used to the time change. “Hungry, love?” She called, her English accent strong.

“Yeah, let’s go get some food.” I answered.

“Lu-Lu is ordering pizza and Chinese food.” She answered, grabbing her phone and pocketing it. We walked out of the house, Alyssa locking it behind her. We walked out of her apartment building and to Lu-Lu’s house only 10 minutes away.

“Nothing from them?” Alyssa asking.

“No, not like I expected them to look for me.” I shrugged. Honestly, I really thought they would look for me, but I guess I really don’t matter to them. Once we got to Lu-Lu’s house, Grant opened the door and smiled at us.

“Sup guys, come in.” We walked in, Grant ruffling my teal hair.

“Hey!” I smiled.

“Sorry shortie.” He winked. I puffed my cheeks in anger and stomped to the kitchen. Both Alyssa and Lu-Lu were 5’5 and Grant and Ben were 6’7, leaving me at 5’2; the shortest of the group.

“Your dad told my parents you’re missing, he’s really worried while your mom is only worried about Samantha.” Grant told me. I stopped walking and frowned. I can only imagine poor Samantha.

“Alyssa, and Tori!” I heard a squeal. I looked up and saw Lu-Lu grinning. Her hair was dyed in a rainbow fashion, being the always hyper one of the group. Ben peeked his from around the corner and smiled.

“Hey gorgeous, wanna go on a date?” He asked, winking at Alyssa.

“Oh please, just fuck me already.” Alyssa smiled at him and hugged them hello.

“I’m joking.” Ben chuckled, hugging her back. Ben was similar to Grant, only he had no plugs. His hair was blonde, closer to his scalp and half was a light blue and the rest red. He was always the jokester, especially with Alyssa. The doorbell rang and Grant opened the door, taking the five boxes of pizza and paying the man. We all sat on the couch, watching a Marvel movie and eating, laughing and just talking.

“Oh, hey, look what I bought with my money!” Lu-Lu announced. We all looked at her as she beckoned us to follow her to her garage. Her parents were really loaded, but even with the money they constantly gave her, Lu-Lu worked as a waitress at a local restaurant. We followed her out, seeing her black and white guitar hung up nicely along with a few other guitars and basses. She turned the lights on and we all saw what she bought.

“No fucking way!” Alyssa grinned, running over and sitting on the stool behind the set. A white drum set complete with many different cymbals was resting there as Alyssa gawked at it.

“Here,” Lu-Lu gave Alyssa the drum sticks and she twirled them in her hand as she began drumming away.

“Wait, I know that song!” Grant grinned, grabbing a guitar and plugging it into an amp, joining her. Lu-Lu skipped to one as well, joining Grant as Ben grabbed a bass and began playing along. That’s when I recognized the song.

I noticed Ben was singing along and Grant screamed along while I sang it, seeing as I couldn’t scream. We finished that small line and Alyssa stopped drumming, causing us all to eventually stop. “I smell a band forming.” She grinned. We all looked at each other, turning to Lu-Lu and she sighed heavily.

“I’ll daddy and setup an appointment.” She groaned, hanging her guitar and walking out to call her dad. He knew a few record companies because of his business.

“This is going to be great, we have to start writing music.” Ben smiled.

“Tori and I got that.” Grant winked at me.

And that was where life really took a turn, for all of us.
