Who Can Save Me Now?

Chapter 11

We reached Chicago, the goodbye being a bit tough, but we worked it out. Evelyn assured me that everything was going to work out just fine, that with time and effort, things were going to be just fine. The buses were parked behind the venue, all of us talking before we had to leave after performing here. Andy and I haven’t talked since I stormed out of his bus in Florida, but he had spoke to Evelyn that he was letting me take a breather.

“See you later!” Jaime hugged Evelyn and she hugged him back.

“Talk care of yourself out there.” Grant smiled.

“Yeah, the world isn’t as nice as us.” Alyssa lightly punched her shoulder and Evelyn rolled her eyes.

“Call me sometime.” Jack winked at her and she laughed, nodding before looking at me. We hugged one more time before her sister honked the horn and she pulled away.

“Don’t forget to text me sometime.” She smiled.

“I might forget the little people.” I joked and she playfully glared at me.

“Mommy doesn’t like that.” She joked. I laughed and we hugged quickly before she walked back to her car.

“Take care!” I called and she turned around, hand on the door handle and she grinned.

“Don’t worry, I’ll be just fine.” She grinned. I watched as she hopped in the car, her sister taking off before the car jerked to a stop and she jumped out, running to me and stopped a few feet from me.

“I tend to be very forgetful.” She smiled and she gave me a stuffed animal. I took the green frog in my hands and she nervously giggled. “When I first got him, I thought he was a turtle so I named his Tony, then when I began questioning where his shell was, I was too lazy to change the name.” I looked at her and she smiled.

“He protects you from bad things. He’s my favorite, so I want you to keep him.” I smiled and hugged her again before she ran back to the car, waving one more time before driving away.

“She was something else.” Jack grinned and Rian punched him. We all headed to our buses before Andy grabbed my arm and scratched the back of his neck.

“Can we talk?” He asked. I looked at Ben who was staring at us and he rushed to the bus, closing the door behind him. We walked a bit away from the buses and he stayed quiet, sitting on a patch of grass and patting the spot next to him.

“I’m sorry about the other day, I still don’t know what I did, but if I insulted you or anything, I just want to apologize.” I sighed and nodded.

“It’s okay Andy, I’m sorry about it too.” He smiled and looked up, laying back on the grass. I looked at him as his still bright blue eyes scanned the sky.

“I hate how in the city you can’t see the stars.” He mumbled.

I looked up, laying next to him and nodded. One or two stars could be seen but nothing like you could see them in the country side. “There’s a spot in Ohio where you can see the milky way, did you know?” He asked. I shook my head and looked at Andy.

“I’ll show, if you want.” I smiled and agreed. We talked about different things for a good while. He talked about how he started the band and everything he had to go through.

“And now here I am.” He smiled. I was turned to him, my head propped on my arms as I watched him.

“I’m sure your parents are proud.” He nodded and looked at me.

“Sometimes it’s not about making other people proud, it’s about making you proud.” I looked down at the grass, seeing a small beetle on a blade before walking down and walking away.

“Let’s go back and sleep.” He said. I nodded and we both walked back to the buses, taking our sweet time and he stopped in front of my bus door.

“Night.” He smiled.

“Good night.” I smiled back and he walked back to his bus. I walked in to find the band sleeping and I climbed into my bunk, falling asleep once my head landing on the pillow.

“We got two minutes!” Jake yelled before grabbing his instrument.
We just finished our meet and greet and were ready to go on after Black Veil Brides. I sat down next to Kellin and Justin, talking about the meet and greets when Andy walked up to me.

“I’m going to call you up on stage, okay?” He asked. I nodded before they got the cue and they walked on stage, starting with I Am Bulletproof.

After a few songs, I heard Andy chuckle before the crowd got quiet. “Do you mind if I bring out someone?” The whole place erupted in a scream before Jinxx came to the back and a switched his guitar for his violin. He walked back on stage and they whole band began playing Lost It All.

Andy began singing, his voice just as amazing as the recording.

I ruled the world
With these hands I shook, the heavens to the ground
I laid the gods to rest.
I held the key to the kingdom.
Lions guarding castle walls.
Hail the king of death.

Then I lost it all
Dead and broken.
My back’s against the wall.
Cut me open.
I’m just trying to breathe,
Just trying to figure it out
Because I built these walls to watch them crumbling down.
I said, “Then I lost it all.”
And who can save me now?

I stood above
Another war,
Another jewel upon the crown
I was the fear of men.
But I was blind.
I couldn’t see the world there right in front of me.
But now I can.. yeah.

Then I lost it all
Dead and broken.
My back’s against the wall.
Cut me open.
I’m just trying to breathe,
Just trying to figure it out
Because I built these walls to watch them crumbling down.
I said, “Then I lost it all.”
And who can save me now?

He put so much emotion into it and soon, I heard him ask again if he could bring someone out. “They better not think it’s Juliet.” Alex joked and I smiled, standing up and grabbing my microphone. I walked out, passing Ashley and Jake, smiling at CC and Jinxx before sitting on the amp next to where Andy was standing.

I began singing the part Juliet sings, putting everything I had into it and people cheered.
Andy sat next to me and we both began singing the rest.

I believe that we all fall down sometimes (oh)
Can’t you see (can’t you see it?) that we all fall down sometimes? (oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah)

I believe that we all fall down sometimes (oh)
Can’t you see (can’t you see it?) that we all fall down sometimes? (oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah)

Yeah

I believe that we all fall down sometimes
Yeah.

Andy and I finished the last note together, the crowd cheering and we grinned. Andy looked at me and hugged me tightly before I walked back stage.

Once we all preformed, Kellin and Vic having the whole venue sing to the King for a Day, we went back to the parking lot and everyone went in their own directions. Andy pulled my hand to him and I followed him. We walked into a huge cornfield, making our way to a hill and we climbed it, sitting on the grass and Andy pointing to the sky.

“Look,” I looked up and gasped at the sight,

I swear, Alyssa had to see the sky, it looked exactly like her tattoo.

“Wow.” I breathed out and Andy chuckled. I looked over at him, watched as his blue eyes were full of curiosity before they flashed with something I couldn’t put my finger on.
His face leaned closer, his hand resting on my cheek. I rested my hand on his wrist as his lips lightly brushed against mine before we heard shushing.

Déjà-vu?

We both turned to see everyone quietly walking to us and Justin and Jack Fowler shushed us. We got up, following them to a barn, where there was a bit of light. We all crowded around the room, Jack and Justin holding the door and grinning at all of us.

“One, two,” Justin whispered and everyone nodded. I was still very confused.

“Three!” Jack said and they swung the doors opened.

Bright light emerged from the barn but that was the last of our concerns.

“HOLY SHIT!”

Notes

IT'S OCTOBER!!
