Who Can Save Me Now?

We continued on to the tour and made a detour stop in Florida, getting food and some rest from being on a bus. Evelyn stayed with us for a bit until we made it to Chicago, which was only a few days away. Having her here was pretty cool, we watched movies, she was great friends with my band and I’m pretty sure Jack Barakat asked for her number.

“So, care to join us for a movie?” Jack asked her as we both sat in my bus.

“Sure, Tori?” She smiled at me.

“You go on ahead, I’m gonna talk to Andy for a bit.” She nodded and walked with Jack to his bus with his band. I walked behind them, knocking on the BVB bus.

“Hey, come on in. The guys went to get some lunch.” Andy opened the door smiling and I smiled, walking in. “I was about to call you actually.” He smiled at me, sitting on the couch, me next to him.

“Really?” I asked and he nodded. I looked ahead and sighed, silence coming in between us both.

“Want to talk?” He asked. I was quiet for a bit before I opened my mouth, the words just falling out.

“My mother thinks I won’t amount to anything. Which is why I’m here, doing this. To prove her wrong and prove to myself that I belong.”

“And did you?” He asked.

“Not to her, and not yet to me.” He whispered. "I never had the family life I wanted." I spoke quietly.

"Well, we're family, we won't treat you like that." He spoke, his deep voice spoke next to me.

"I've heard that before." I snapped, looking at his bright blue eyes before leaving his bus. I hate people, I hate them all.

I stormed to my bus, climbing on and rushing to the bathroom. I heard the front door open and someone rushing to the back, I slammed the bathroom door closed and they began knocking.

“Listen to me, I saw your storming out of there. Don’t listen to what he said, you do you!” Evelyn spoke from the other side as I took out the blade.

“How do you know? You don’t know half the shit I go through!” I yelled.

“You talk to me about it! My mom is similar, and you know that! But please, don’t hurt yourself. We all take these things differently and for some it’s easier to get through this than others, just pace yourself!” She yelled back. I held the blade in my hands and listened to her breathing through the door.

“Open the door, please.” She begged. My hand reached for it and unlocked it. Evelyn walked in and took the blade from me, flushing it.

“You need to be brave for yourself. You can do it.” I looked at her and she was clearly worried, her brown eyes glossy while tears threatened to escape.

“Thank you.” I answered and she hugged me, the two of us just there for a bit before moving to the living room.

“Everything good?” Lu-Lu asked, walking in and tossing our food to us.

“Yeah.” I smiled and Evelyn nodded.

“Dandy.” She agreed.
