Chapter Twenty-Four

Austin

Seeing Brooklyn pass out was enough for me.

I needed to make sure I had extra security at our house and that she was always with

someone.

I can't lose her.

"Help me get her into my car." Mike said and I picked her up carrying her out of the

bus.

"Don't worry about her stuff. Aleah and I will bring it." Tony said going back into the

bunk area with Aleah.

I nodded and got Brooklyn in the back of Mike's car getting in laying her head on my lap.

Mike started driving and I ran my hand through Brooklyn's hair.

"She's going to be okay Austin. Brooklyn is strong, but we need to keep an eye on her

cause no telling what she will do." He said looking back at me through the rear view

mirror.

I nodded and kept my focus on Brooklyn.

Once we got to our house everyone was either there or arrived after us.

I carried Brooklyn inside and upstairs to our room laying her in bed.

"Austin?"

I turned and saw her dad.

"Yes sir.?" I asked making sure to bring the blanket over her.

"You are good for her. I trust you with my daughter and I know that you will keep her

safe, as well as make her happy. I haven't seen her smile as bright as she does now in

years."

I looked at him and nodded, "She makes me happy too. I don't want to loser, I can't.

Brooklyn means the world to me."

"I believe you. Yes." He said and I looked confused but he winked and I knew what he

meant. He was giving me his blessing.

"Thank you Mr. Thomas."

He smiled, "Call me David."

I smiled and said thank you again.

Looking back at Brooklyn I sighed and got in bed next to her.

I wrapped my arms around her and kissed her head, just praying that everything will be

okay.
