A Fairy Tale Gone Insane

History Has A Way Of Revealing Itself

I woke up to the sound of screaming coming from the left of me. I jumped up and found Nyeria on the floor and crying. I walked over to her and went to go touch her shoulder when she jumped.
“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to scare you. Shh, it’s going to be okay? I’m right here. What’s wrong?” I asked, while scooping her up in my arms.
“I keep seeing his eyes. The way he looked when he killed her and then came after me.” I can’t. My heart dropped. Whatever this girl went through, it’s real. And she needs help.
“Calm down, okay? No one is going to get you. Not while I’m with you. Don’t worry. I promise.” I picked her up and put her back on the bed. I went to the sink and filled up a cup with ice water. I went back to the bed to find it was empty.
“Nyeria?” I looked around and found her on the balcony. She was leaning over way too far. I dropped the cup and ran to her, just before she fell over. She collapsed in my arms and wasn’t responding.
“Wake up, come on. Can you hear me? Wake up Nyeria!” I kept shouting. I shook her and she woke up throwing up. She was coughing and I’m pretty sure some blood was coming up as well.
“Are you okay?” I asked. I started rubbing her back and she calmed down. And then she started crying.
“I want my Mother back. I don’t know what’s going on.” She kept grabbing her necklace and gripping it tightly. “It’s not working! I’m not calming down.” I did the only thing I could do and hugged her. I wrapped my arms around her tightly and soon, she calmed down. I sighed and picked her up and laid her on the bed. She looked like a lost puppy and it was adorable.
“Are you okay?” I smiled.
“Don’t leave me please?” She said. I crawled into bed and wrapped my arms around her.
“Trust me, I’m not going anywhere.” I closed my eyes and took in the scent of her hair. I felt her shift under me and got closer and closer to me. I felt a smile on my face when she sighed and we both felt sleep take over our bodies.

-the next day-
I woke up with Nyeria not in sight. I jumped up and ran to the balcony praying that she hadn’t done what she was about to do last night. When I couldn’t find her, I walked back into my room and her standing there in a towel. Nothing but a towel. She has an amazing body. Perfect legs, perfect…. I stopped myself of these thoughts and walked up to her.
“Problem?” I smiled. She blushed and started to stutter.
“Iiii don’t have any clothes.” I smirked and walked over to my suitcase when I noticed that a bra was next to it. I picked it up and it hit me. This was Callie’s bra. I dropped it on the bed and pulled out a tee shirt that I knew was going to be big on her. I pulled out some pants and grabbed everything, including the bra. I know what you must be thinking, why would I give a bra of the girl that I had sex with just the other night, to a girl that was so innocence that she probably has never held someone’s hand before. It’s crazy but I know that she just can’t go without a bra. I walked over to the bathroom and handed her everything. Pretty soon she came out and looked at me. Her long blonde hair was up and her purple eyes were glowing.
“Better?” I smiled. Her eyes just captivated me.
“Yes, thank you.” She bowed and walked past me to the door.
“Where are you going?” I asked. Is it weird that I felt my heart drop when she touched the door handle?
“I have to know where my home is. And how do I get back to where I belong.” She said sadly. I was about yell but here is where you belong with me, but I stopped.
“Well I can go with you. I know this town like the back of my hand. Would that be alright with you?” She smiled. I took that as a yes and grabbed my sunglasses. I was about to grabbed her hand when the door opened. Alan came bursting in and he looked like he had been through more than just hell.
“What happened to you?”
“Party. Last night. Awesome. Just got back.” He said in short sentences. I shook my head and grabbed his arm and through him on the bed.
“Lay here okay? Don’t go anywhere, don’t touch anything.” He smiled. And not even five minutes later, he was pasted out.
“Will he be okay?” She asked pointing at him.
“Yeah, now to the library? We’ll start there and work our way up.” I opened the door and nodded to her. “Ladies first.” She smiled and bowed.
“Thank you kind sir.” I followed her. Pretty soon we were done in the lobby as she stopped at the fish tanks.
“Do you like fish?” I asked.
“We never had any creature like these. We have fish, but I have never seen them before. These are colorful and fast, but we had black and grey fish that moved slow and in groups.” She said looking at me. Wherever she came from, it sounds like a sad and lonely place.
“Well the library will open here soon and then we’ll get some lunch and then continue our search of your homeland. Sound like a good plan?” I smiled. She smiled and grabbed my hand as we were walking out the door. I held her hand tightly as we were walking down the street.
“This place is so big, how do you not get lost?” I laughed.
“I guess it’s just natural instinct to know your surroundings.” Soon we were in the library, while I was looking on the computer she was looking at books.
“These have different markings. What are these?” She asked handing me a book.
“English words? You mean, you can speak almost perfect English, but you can’t read it?” She shook her head.
“No one can in my kingdom. Mother had English forbidden when we were attacked by the English and their church the first time. Which is why you’ve never heard of Grendale, because it was hidden after the war. But when I was little I had a guard who had spoken English to help me, he just never taught it.” My eyes got wide. I turned around and looked up the first great war of England, and there it was, in fact, with a kingdom to the far north.
“What was the name of your kingdom before the war?”
“I don’t know. Mother wouldn’t tell me that part of our history.” She sat down at the computer and watched as I typed faster and faster with every minute.
“You said that you saw a guardsmen kill your mother right? What did his suit look like?” She closed her eyes.
“Metal with purple and blue sashes across the chest. He had metals attached to the sashes. But that’s all that I can remember.” My heart dropped.
“Nyeria, you may want to hold on to something.”
“Why?” She asked looking at me.
“Because the man that killed your mother is Nathan Carlile. My great great great grandfather.”
