A Fairy Tale Gone Insane

“So, what you’re saying is, you don’t want this power your mom gave you?” I asked her. She sipped on the tea I made for her.
“Yes that’s correct. And please don’t think that I want to purposely hurt Austin. I care of him too much to do so, but I don’t want to be around him when my power becomes complete. I’ve seen the effects of it on my parents and I don’t want that for him.” She looked down at her tea. I sighed. Maybe I was wrong about her. Maybe I should’ve gotten to know her before I accused her of hurting Austin.
“What do you mean, the effects it had on your parents?” I asked. She looked at me and took a deep breathe.
“Many years before my parents met, my mother was born into a family of witches. Good witches, at that. They were spirits of nature and good will, but like all things good, bad things exist. Enoras were the enemy of my mother’s clan. They wiped out almost all of the clan and spirits that were not killed, were held prisoner. My mother only being an infant, was spared life and grew up a slave. That is, until my father’s guards came and rescued the spirits. He killed off the Enoras, and saved my mother.” She stopped. She wiped a tear from her eye and I grabbed her hand.
“We don’t have to talk about this.” I reassured her.
“No, I want to.” She inhaled and continued.
“My parents fell in love. It was the kind of love that was written for fairy tales and fantasy. My parents were inseparable. They did everything together; until one night. They had no idea that there were other Enora clans out there and sought revenge on my father. They tricked my father into having an affair on my mother. Which she walked in on them in the act. My mother got so mad that she ran away. They couldn’t find her for days. My father eventually found her and brought her back to the castle. She told him that she was pregnant and would forgive him. Only for the sake of her child. Everyone thought that the days of sadness were over, and then my mother’s powers were getting stronger. My mother ended up killing my father by accident with her powers. When the nearby country found out, they had thought that she only wanted to rule. So they sent and attack on us. My mother rose with an army and fought them off. But only by hiding our country. We were sent to another realm, and flourished. No one knew where we had gone, and we had thought that it was finally over. Mother was an amazing queen, and raised me with powers. We were happy. I have no thoughts as too why they found us but they did and they killed my mother. I saw it happen. All my life she had told me that men were never to be trusted. Never to be faithful. And now that I met Austin I don’t know if what my mother has been teaching me is true.” She said. She started crying and dabbing her eyes with a napkin.
“So your mother killed your father by accident?” I asked. She nodded. She took a deep breathe.
“I have to get away from Austin, I don’t want to be the one to kill him when my power becomes stronger than I can handle.” I looked at her with a shocked expression.
“You do realize that he wants you to go with us in two days back on tour, right?” She gave me a weird look. I shook my head. “I’ll explain it to you later. What matters right now is that you need to tell Austin what you just told me. He, being the dumbass that he is, will want to help you and I love Austin like my brother, but he can’t be near you until you can get control of your power.” I got up and grabbed my phone. I dialed Austin’s number and it rang three times before he picked up.
“Austin, where are you?”
“I’m with Callie and we’re on the boardwalk, why?”“Why are you with her? I thought y’all didn’t talk anymore?”
“Long story. What’s going on?” “It’s Nyeria, she needs to talk to you, like now.” She looked at me with worried eyes and was about to say something, but I cut her off. “Just get here as soon as you can. Okay. Later.”
“I can’t talk to him right now! What if he doesn’t understand, or what if he hates me and banishes me from his land?” I laughed.
“It works a little different than that nowadays, but if he’s crazy about you as he says he does, than he’ll understand.” I grabbed her shoulders and looked at her eyes. She nodded and sat down and continued to sip her tea, while I’ll sat there and tried to tell myself the same thing.
(Austin’s POV)
“You’re pregnant?” I choked out. She nodded. “How? I wore a condom.”
“It broke, Austin. I know that you don’t believe me, but I am pregnant, and it’s yours.” She said, looking down. I sighed and picked her chin up with my hand.
“Callie, I wish you would’ve told me sooner. I’m leaving in two days for the rest of tour. I don’t need a family right now. I have Nyeria to take care of and I can’t just leave her to defend for herself. Do you see why I’m stuck? I care about you too. You left me Callie.” I looked at her and kissed her forehead. “I’ll be there to help with the baby, but nothing more. I have Nyeria.” I walked away from her. I dug for my phone in my pocket and fished it out. I dialed Alan’s number and it took three rings for him to answer.
“Austin, where are you?” He asked.
“I’m on my way back, where’s Nyeria?” I heard him take a deep breath before answering.
“She’s right here beside me, but you may want to hurry. We need to talk.”
