This Rebellion Has It's Cause

Chapter 8

The song ended and a fast paced one began to play and Austin and I let go of each other. I guess I should go see what Max wants, he probably thinks he can make up with me again, ha that will never happen.

“Austin, come over here!” A guy’s voice yells in the distance.

I nod my head in their direction saying, “Go on, I’m going to go see what Max wanted.”

He nods rubbing my arm gently as he murmured, “Be careful.”

I simply nod again and walk over to Kasey because Max is bound to be close, the alcohol is over here. I find Kasey sitting in a lawn chair sipping on a beer and I take a seat in the open chair next to her.

“You did that on purpose didn’t you?” I questioned not even looking at her.

I watched her smirk out of the corner of my eye and she respond, “I don’t know what you are talking about.”

“Oh bull shit, I know you played two slow songs in a row on purpose.” I pointed out turning to face her.

She chuckled, “Maybe I did, but you seemed to be having a good time.”

“So you and Austin seem to be doing great now that I’m gone.” Max announces his presence to us and Kasey sends him a hard glare, which he ignores.

“How many times do I have to tell you this? Austin and I are just friends; it shouldn’t really matter anyway because I don’t want you here. Considering that you knocking me out the other day I don’t want to see you at all or talk to you ever again. Why are you here? Do you think you can come here to give me some bullshit excuse that you’re sorry for what you did? No, this isn’t going to work like that; not this time Max.” I ranted standing from my seat as I spoke to get in his face to make my point clear; I was beyond done with him.

“Fine, don’t think I won’t get Darby to ruin your chances with him because I will.” He threatened, but Darby walked right past him and sat down in the chair next to mine.

“Whatever Max, I’m good. I had my fun with you and it sucked, so I won’t be doing you any favors. Now leave this girl alone before I call in some reinforcements because you know I can.” Darby tells him with a smirk, but a true promise in her gray eyes.

Max made an irritated noise and stormed off muttering about finding some other girl, yea right. I turned to Darby to ask, “What made you want to help me like that?”

She shrugged lightly saying, “I like you I guess and Max pissed me off thinking just because we got together a few times that I would do his dirty work. There’s not really that much to explain.”

“But you seemed like you hated me before!” I cried feeling so confused, no wonder Max didn’t stay with her for long.

She shook her head no and explained, “It was all just a big misunderstanding. At first I thought I wanted Max when I met you and I thought you would be a challenge. Then I found out I was wrong about both of those things. Then my slutty side took over when I saw you with Austin, but I can clearly tell that he wants someone else and nobody is going to get in his way, no flings for him I guess.”

That made my stomach turn with jealousy, Stacey still owned his heart of course. I smiled in understanding, I guess Darby wasn’t all that bad after all, very slutty and a bit insane, but she was nicer than I had originally thought. Wow I don’t want to imagine what Alan would do if he saw this, me getting along with his ex-girlfriend. Kasey, Darby, and I slid into a comfortable conversation and you couldn’t even tell that earlier I had been extremely pissed off at Darby.

“So speaking of what Max said earlier, what are you and Austin to each other?” Darby questions, resting her chin in the palm of her hand.

“We’re just friends.”

“Right.” Kasey states, drawing out the word.

“What? I’m serious, Austin is just a really good friend of mine.” I defend.

“Yea, a friend you wouldn’t mind bedding.” Darby mumbles and Kasey laughs.

“Hey! No it’s not like that, I swear.”

“Oh really?”

“Yes, we are just friends, friends that is it, no more. Friends.” I harp on and on.

“Okay, okay we get it; I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone use the word friend so much in one sentence.” Darby says shaking her head in disbelief.

“She’s in denial.” Kasey notes.

I let out an exasperated sigh, crossing my arms over my chest as they laugh again.

A pair of hands block my vision and a deep voice asks, “Guess who?”

I immediately knew it was Austin, but just to piss him off I reply, “Chris Motionless?”

The hands on my face yank away and my chair is spun around, almost making it fall over on its side as he demanded, “Who did you say?”

I laughed, “I was just kidding I knew it was you.”

His smile comes back quickly and I notice Kasey and Darby are exchanging knowing and mischievous glances, maybe letting these two get to know each other was a bad idea. They both stand up from their seats, saying they are going to get something to drink, those evil bitches. So now Austin and I are by ourselves over here. I take note of the fact that people are starting to leave, so I guess it’s getting really late.

“I must say you throw a really good party Tristy.” Austin comments.

I smile up at him, “Thanks.”

He holds out his hand to me saying, “Come with me.”

I take his hand standing to my feet and he guided me back close to the shore, except this time he brought me to a small fire that had two chairs in front of it. Austin let go of my hand to sit down and I did the same.

“So what are we doing over here?” I asked folding my hands in my lap.

“I just wanted to talk to you about something in private.”

“Alright, what’s up?”

“I’m finally completely over Stacey.”

“That’s great!” I cheer; I guess Darby was wrong about Austin having his mind set on getting someone.

“The only problem for me is I want someone else now.” He states as his eyes scan the ocean horizon.

Well there’s my answer, he probably met some girl at the studio and I never crossed his mind as usual.

"You'll never guess who it is." He remarks and I roll my eyes, no I don't want to know.

Feeling fed up I stand from my seat and strip off my black and white dress that covered my solid white bikini throwing it in the beach chair, I'd rather swim in this freezing ocean than hear Austin talk about some other girl.

"Tristy, where are you going?" He calls after me and when I finally run into the water he catches on and just pulls off his shirt since he already had swimming trunks on.

Several minutes later he's in the salt water with me and I feel myself start to shiver because the water was colder than I had originally thought. Austin sees this and moves over to me, putting his tattooed arms around me trying to keep me warm. I had to resist the urge to put my arms around his waist, from putting my hands on his bare back no matter how badly I wanted to.

"Tristan I really need someone to talk to about this."

"Why can't you just talk to my brother about it?"

"Because he'd kill me."

I shook my head and wiggled out of his hold heading back for the shore as I called out, "Look Austin I don't want to hear about you finding a new girl.” And then add, “I just can't handle it."

He rushed to keep up with me, "Why not?"

We both sit back down before I begin. I sighed deeply, knowing that after I say what I'm about to say he'll most likely not want to talk to me for a while.

"Because I like you, more than I probably should and it hurts me to hear about you wanting someone because I want you. I'm sorry, but that's just how I feel."

The whole time I am making my confession I have my gaze trained on the fire, so I don't realize that I am or why I'm falling over till I'm in the sand and Austin is over top of me on his hands and knees. I stare up at him raising an eyebrow at his actions right before he quickly leans down to me, crashing his mouth over mine. My eyes widen so much that I feel like they are about to pop out of their sockets when his lips move against my own. I catch on to the fact that he isn't going to let go anytime soon and I kiss him back before he can decide to do just that.

After several minutes we separated for air and Austin whispers in my ear, "You don't have to apologize because the girl I was talking about was you."

He moves his mouth to my neck, giving me butterfly kisses before running his tongue along my pulse, making it quicken. I grabbed his face, bringing his lips back over my own. I deepened the kiss by gliding my tongue against the crease of his lips, asking to be let in. He parted his lips immediately and I became light headed from our hard kissing. His hands started to grasp my waist, running his fingers down to my thighs and back up to my ribs, causing me to shudder.

Austin quickly took over the dominance of the kiss and when he let me go this time I was basically panting for air. He began attacking my neck once more, this time nibbling right under my ear; driving me crazy. I brought my hands up, dragging my finger nails lightly against the bottom of his scalp to the nap of his neck, enjoying how soft his skin and hair is. I receive a shock when Austin lets out a deep, yet quiet groan against my throat and at a torturously slow pace he glides his palms back down to my hips; then his left hand travels inwards pressing into my stomach. I gasp as his fingertips make contact with the cloth that is the bottom of my bathing suit, just above where I began to ache for him.

Then my sanity decides to surface and I remember where we are, that we aren’t alone on this beach and on top of that the light from the fire is making us very visible. Oh great I bet Kasey and Darby are having hissy fits right now about what Austin and I are doing. I drop my hands from his hair, gripping them into the sand as he allows his hand lower; oh god he’s going to kill me.

“A-Austin you’ve got to stop.” I stutter out of breath and on top of that trying not to whine as his hand caresses me in the best and worst way.

He pauses only to breathe, “I don’t think I’ve can now that I’ve started.”

A tiny moan escapes my mouth before I can speak again, “Austin please, I’m not ready.”

At that he immediately removes his hand from me saying, “I’m so sorry.”

I shake my head, “Its fine, just not here, and not now.”

He nodded and sits up on his knees and lifts me up on my own as well. He smiles sweetly and oh so adorably, the very smile that won me over in the first place and continues to do so.

We get on our feet and Austin announces, “You’re going to spend the night with me for a change.” Then when he sees my eyes widen he quickly adds, “I’m not going to make you do anything, I just want you to spend the night with me.”

I agree to it, “Alright sounds like a plan to me.”

We head back to his car; I didn’t drive to the beach so I don’t have to worry about my car being left here. His fingers laced through mine on the walk up to the stairs next to the dunes and I can’t stop myself from smiling, Austin of all people wanted me. It’s almost too hard to believe. We get his car, for some reason not bothering to tell anyone goodbye and I’m sure Kasey will make Darby help her clean up now that I’ll be gone. I’m sure if she knows all that has happened she won’t mind.

It takes a while to get to Austin’s place and when we do his pets go berserk, because Austin’s back and that he brought me along. I make sure to take turns petting each of them and I don’t manage to notice that Austin had slipped off till he had come back with some clothing in hand.

“Here wear these so you aren’t uncomfortable tonight.” He instructs me holding out the clothes.

I take them and thank him before heading to the bathroom to change. It’s an old Slipknot t-shirt of his and a pair of basketball shorts. I strip off my dress and bikini into a wet heap in his shower and that’s when I realize I have no bra or underwear with me. Well isn’t this fantastic, I’m now forced to go commando in front of Austin. I just shrug it off and change, seeing as there is nothing I can do about it without telling him and embarrassing the shit out of myself. I step out of the bathroom, walking past Austin’s bedroom door to see him lying shirtless in bed; oh this needs to be counted as some kind of cruelty to want someone so badly.

“Goodnight Austin.” I murmur and head for the living room.

“Tristy come here.” Austin calls.

I take a step back to look at him asking, “Yea?”

He pats the large empty space next to him saying, “Get in here and lay down.”

Now I know he doesn’t mean anything by what he’s saying, but damn it has an effect on me none the less. I slowly make my way into his room, gingerly pulling back the covers and slipping under them. I rest my head on the fluffy pillows and I notice that the clock says 6:25 A.M. Wow did the party really go on that long?

“Goodnight Tristan.” Austin tells me right before he shuts off the lights and snuggles up into my side. All I can do is silently hope that he doesn’t figure out I don’t have any kind of underwear on, but he never says anything about it and we both drift into a comfortable, deep sleep.
